The LEGO Black Friday offers for 2018 have been revealed, courtesy of The Brick Fan. 40292 Christmas Gift Box will be available with purchases exceeding $99 in LEGO stores and at shop.LEGO.com.

5005257 NINJAGO Minifigure Collection, on the other hand, will only be available in LEGO stores and is being distributed with purchases of more than $50. Unfortunately, we have no further information concerning how, or whether, the four Bricktober packs will be distributed in the UK but you can read about the European Black Friday promotions here.

Furthermore, certain items will be discounted over the Black Friday weekend, including 10246 Detective's Office which is being retired very soon.

Which items are being discounted? I am slightly bummed as I just bought the Detective’s Office last month? What else is being retired?

I got the Detective Office a couple weeks ago at the Disney World Lego store because the manager allowed it and the Bank to be discounted %10 for WDW annual passholders. Got double VIP points as well. Stopped by Saturday and were sold out. The Bank is also being discontinued. They had a couple left iirc.

I may need to keep an eye on RO Y-Wing then.....

By in United Kingdom,

How do you find out which sets are retiring soon? I recently bought the Parisian Restaurant on a hunch but thought/hoped the Detectives Office and Bank would be out for a bit longer... :-(

I haven't heard about the bank, but there is a UK catalog that has about 20 sets that will be 'retired', just because it's retired doesn't mean it disappears overnight.

Just for clarity, you mean the weekend 0f 23-26 Nov, or, THIS weekend. It can be read as both, but I assume is related to article so means 23-36. Ta for clarification

US LEGO.com shows Detective's Office as out of stock, not even "backorder"

Any idea on whether Detectives Office will be back in stock online for Black Friday or are the discounts for that set in store only?

By in United Kingdom,

I just want the Marvel Bricktober set to add to my Avengers... Really wish we'd get something solid detail wise since we' know for a fact they're out there.

Kinda irked that the Ninjago pack is "in store" only, because the only Lego sets that I'm interested in getting are "online only". They're not making these Bricktober packs easy to get, are they?

IMPORTANT: The Ninjago Minifigure pack is Black Friday ONLY. The promotion is only available in-store on the 23rd.

What do you suppose the odds are any of the UCS sets will be discounted? Probably not the Falcon, but what about the Snowspeeder and the Y-Wing?

By in United States,

@LordMoral Target already has the Y-Wing for $42 (30% off) and Amazon (at least) is price matching. I doubt Lego will offer a better deal than that, although of course if you want a gift with purchase that might make it worth waiting.

Does anyone know if 10247 - Ferris Wheel will be discontinued soon? It's Out-Of-Stock on LEGO.com but when clicking on it reads only as "Temporarily Out-of-Stock," so maybe I'm not totally out of luck yet? Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have waited so long to start my amusement park! My grand plan was to get both it and 10257 - Carousel for Christmas, and then having time to save up for 10261 - Roller Coaster.

By in United States,

Hi all, I have a friend who works at my local LEGO store and they told me that they purposefully retracted the Ghostbusters HQ, Ferris Wheel, Old Fishing Store, and the Detectives office for Black Friday. So if any of you guys are interested in these sets, you should wait it out. They don't know how much they will be on sale for, but they're assuming it'll be similar to last years sales.

"Last year's sales" weren't all that great if I recall. I feel like the best we get these days is maybe 15%--which isn't much better than the effective 10% double-VIP gets you. Gone are the days of 50% off B-Wing UCS...

I just want the Avengers and the Jurassic World set for Malcom. Nothing else matters.

Luckily I don't need the Ninjago set because there is absolutely no way I will get to be off work for Black Friday. I tried going after work one year & it was horrible trying to get near the parking lot let alone the actual store.

Last year I got a few sale items from LEGO.com but my order was cancelled for no reason & I had to call CS to get it taken care of since they had charged me for it. Wound up getting all but one item which had gone OOS.

So if you spend $100 do you get both gifts or only the one? Do you have to make 2 purchases to get both??

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It’s really annoying that I live in the uk as I can’t get them yet.

By in United States,

@EvergreenVX thanks for the info.! The only thing is if I wait until Black Friday to order from LEGO.com they'll probably be sold out from Amazon by then, and if the Black Friday promotion then falls through I'll be SOL. Yet if I do hold out for Black Friday there might be some cool freebies to go w/it. Hmm... another LEGO conundrum.

Thanks for the heads up!

The Lego.com store in the US has a free Harry Potter set for purchases over $99 up until Thanksgiving, and this weekend before Thanksgiving the Holiday Present set.

Regarding Cmfolds question, a single $100 order gets you both free gifts. At least that's what the cart and my receipt shows. :-)
