Will this be true for USA, too?

By in United States,

Think we'd get the Diagon Alley AND Christmas Gift Box sets with a single purchase over $99?

By in United Kingdom,

Also wondering if I can get this, Diagon Alley and Double points in one hit ? I think so.

By in United Kingdom,

I believe Diagon Alley is completely out of stock both online and in store in the UK - could even be the reason for this extra last minute VIP promo.

By in United Kingdom,

@angrywarlock sadly the majority of Lego.com offers that start out being 20 days or so quite often disappear in 3-4 days....... Diagon has gone for the UK now. Recently the Star Wars Mudhopper also vanished.... but it was replaced by last years BB-8. They make it up as they go along. I wouldn't be surprised if the Christmas box is sold out VIP weekend before it was even advertised as being available originally. Whoever is in charge of Stock and predicted sales needs firing.

By in United States,

Diagon Alley is still available through Shop at Home in the US

By in United States,

@Modeltrainman, yes, it's in the US also (at $99 and up) - I got a LEGO VIP email notice of it this morning.

By in United Kingdom,

It’s a shame that the qualification levels for a free gift are so high. I know there are a lot of afols out there (me included) but whatever happened to Lego being a kids toy?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@MingusDew - Thanks. I wasn't sure whether this promotion would apply in the US too so I have updated the article.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

shame the penguin minifig is not available this weekend too!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes! Free shipping! Now I can get those extra polybags without having to buy a bunch of other stuff too!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Diagon Alley was gone in Germany in record time as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Kinda looking forward to getting this GWP if [email protected] doesn't grenade itself and go down during those 2 days.

Gravatar
By in France,

What about SW black card offers....? 11 months into the year and diddly squat

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like I’m doing my Christmas shopping early! Excited for that Christmas Box GWP.

By in United Kingdom,

Gravatar
By in United States,

Will the Christmas Box be given away again on Black Friday?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Black Friday. You know, that world-wide event to celebrate the day after a holiday that most of the world doesn't celebrate. Oh, and like every one-day event these days it lasts for two to three weeks.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does this include the up to 20% off that they advertised?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Duq
Yes, it's technically about the day after an exclusively US holiday. But no, it's not about "the day after that holiday". Black Friday has historically been the day that many businesses finally switched from balancing their ledgers in red ink (signifying debt) to black ink (signifying profit). There are many factors that influence this economic phenomenon, but the primary one is that, due to Thanksgiving being a major holiday that always lands on Thursday, lots of people get Friday off as a bonus. And since Thanksgiving is the last US holiday before Christmas, and people have nothing better to do, they start Christmas shopping.

As for why it seems to last so long, I'll just quickly point out that it really lasts closer to 6-7 weeks (starting on whatever day stores start running their Black Friday Sales and ending on Dec. 26 in the returns department), but beyond that retailers have basically been in an arms race over the day. One store would see great business, and then another store would start offering sale prices to steal that business away. The first store would then offer steep discounts to earlybird shoppers, and then the second store would open late Thanksgiving Day instead of waiting until the next morning. Small businesses got squeezed out of the whole affair, so probably along with Chambers of Commerce all across the US they got the Small Business Saturday movement going to encourage people to not completely forget about them at the one time of the year that used to keep them solvent for the rest. Online commerce really took off, and someone got the whole Cyber Monday thing tied into it as well. As retail stores started seeing e-commerce (namely Amazon) siphon off the gains they'd made, then we started seeing "Black Friday Sales" that started a week early, and then two weeks early.

But again, it's more tied to Christmas, and it has a long association with keeping many retail businesses in business.

By in Canada,

Thanksgiving is technically celebrated in Canada too, albeit in early October.
Which makes sense if it is a harvest festival, because early October in parts of Canada = late November seasonally in parts of US.

By in Netherlands,

Weird. I haven't logged on my Lego account since early this year so I thought let's see if my password still works so I can start buying for the holidays. But my account is empty. I can't find my VIP points and all my adress information has been erased. Did they make a change and I missed it?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@darthmar: You've probably also noticed that the page where you fill in username and password is different from what it used to be? I had a similar issue last month. Wanted to order Voltron but they changed the page and it didn't fill in my info automatically. I couldn't rememver my password ofcourse.
Managed to make a new account (strangely using the same email address) and had my VIP points transferred to it by customer service (they told me that was possible when i contacted them).
But not a word from them on how the whole thing happened in the first place, no mention of a new login system.
Unfortunately my new credentials don't work with my account on Ideas so i currently can't support anything.

By in Japan,

Is this still not available in the US/Europe? I've gotten 2 in the last week from my brand store

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I assume this doesn't include Black Friday offers in the sense of sets being reduced on sale. That plus the double points would mean nobody else gets a present for Christmas...

Gravatar
By in United States,

If they get 10247 - Ferris Wheel back in stock for this early Black Friday offer I will be a very happy LEGO camper indeed! I'm not going to hold my breath though...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pfft. £85 minimum spend?!?!?!?!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@wilcosu35 thanks for the advice but I found that when I use a different computer my old account is complete.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Got an email with details of the reduced sets that will be on offer over the next weekend, surprised there isn’t a separate story up here on it. Including 30% off the app-controlled Batmobile, Mini Cooper and the Mack Anthem.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now only if the Bricktober set(s) would be available this weekend too. It would definitely save me from having to fight with crowds on Black Friday.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Amazon reductions at the moment are much better than LEGO'S 20%. X-Wing is at 40% for example.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I don't care about the free stuff but i do appreciate double points. I actually wanted to wait until next month with the 10261 but this weekend might be better. And since i've got 80 euros worth of points i'm going to have a good discount on it.

By in New Zealand,

Meanwhile, in New Zealand....

"Free gift with purchase over $140!"
"Free delivery on all orders!"

Add $170 item to basket.
No gift.
$20 delivery.

Thanks for your usual lying, fraudulent incompetence, you useless idiotic pratts. Seriously, what on Earth is going on at that company? Are they completely clueless about how much they've alienated their customers?

By in United States,

Hi all,
I have more information regarding Black Friday sales and some other things. During Nov 17-18 LEGO will be doing the gift box giveaway and they will be giving away the VIP LEGO Store (the ones in those pouches) for purchases for (US) $40 and more. I don't know if you will be able to get the gift box and the VIP store giveaway for buying $99+ of LEGO. I heard they will make you buy $140 of LEGO to get both of them, but I am not certain of this. Also apparently LEGO will have a "deal-of-the-day" sets on the Black Friday weekend. These sets will be 30% off on their respective dates.
Nov 23 - Chess Set
Nov 24 - Old Fishing Store
Nov 25 - The Ultimate Batmobile
Nov 26 - Heartlake Hospital
Also from this, you can assume the max sale LEGO will do will be 30% and less. To be honest I don't know if its even worth going to the LEGO store on Black Friday, unless you really like those giveaways. Anyhow, I hope this helps anybody for their plans on Black Friday!

By in United States,

I’m curious whether or not you can get double vip points, Diagon valley AND the gift box all with a single $99 purchase in the US, or is that too good to be true? Hoping for the best :)

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Also meanwhile in New Zealand....

"Earn double VIP points on every purchase!"

Add $300 of items.
Expect 2 pts per $1.50
Get 1.5 pts per $1.50

Just one great stinking lie after another. Which is why everybody is heading to https://lepinworld.com

By in United States,

Just ordered 75181 Y-Wing Starfighter, and got both Diagon Alley and the Christmas Gift Box sets, plus 2x VIP points. Very cool! :-D

Gravatar
By in United States,

You get both promos right now if you hit 99 USD in the US

Gravatar
By in United States,
