Newsweek LEGO special on the shelves next week
Posted by Huw,
A Newsweek special edition entitled LEGO—The World's Favorite Toy is being published next week.
It contains a lot of interesting material, including interviews with company CEO Niels B. Christiansen and Vice President of Innovation William Thorogood; and articles on the company's quest for sustainable materials, and 20 years of LEGO Star Wars.
The 100-page magazine will be available in US newsagents priced at $12.99 and can also be ordered online now. You can view some sample spreads after the break.

$13 for a magazine?!?!?!?!!!!!?11/!1/!?!!?1?!
Please someone scan this for other countries to read!
Didn't they have something similar last year?
And yes, @David1985, magazines for $13 is nothing new. There are continuous special editions about the latest movie (right now the new X-Men has 2 different books out).
$30 shipping to the UK
This can be ordered to Vatican City but not Australia?? Weird....
Kinda expensive. The books with 100 piece or so sets aren't much more expensive; and at least with the $9 kids' books a lot of grocery stores are selling now, have small sets included with them.
Seems interesting, so I might just pick it up next time I'm at the supermarket. Even if the thing's twelve bucks.
I would love to buy/read this magazine, but at such steep shipping costs, I think I'll pass...
Crazy that Newsweek can be shipped to places such as Aland, Buvet and Pitcairn Islands - with a combined population of a few thousand people (!?), and to New Zealand ..... but not Australia!! (as Squidy74H pointed out).
Someone please explain THAT?!
It's probably more to do with licensing agreements than logistics.
Looks interesting! Totally getting one when I see it.
When Newsweek released the Lego special edition last year, it took a month before showing up on Canadian store shelves. Hopefully same goes for other places like Australia this time around.
@dontfeedthebrickster Yeah, I recall having a tough time finding the one last year (Canada), until a few weeks after the supposed "release date". Will probably try to find this one, too. :D
Terrible price per page ratio.
I might get one. But that is nothing for price. The prices are getting higher all the time.
Might get a copy. And prices are getting higher all the time.
I love this kinda of dumb stuff, ordered a copy. $6.50 shipping is ridiculous for a magazine though (US).
15% off if ordered from the website with a promo code when you sign up for e-mails...
