40434 Reindeer is the current gift with purchase at LEGO.com. It's free with purchases over £35/$35, until 17th November.

It's a great little model, and even comes with enough parts to build a Rudolph variant...

It contains 75 parts and while there are no particularly rare parts in it, there are some interesting ones, including the 2 gold fez hats used for bells.

As usual, the choice of colours used for the hinge pieces is not the best...

It's a quick and easy build that kids in particular will enjoy.

Thanks to the red cheese slopes used as a bow on one of the gifts there's a spare one that can be put to good use:

Grab it now while you can from LEGO.com.

Thanks to LEGO for providing us with the set. All opinions expressed are my own.

By in United Kingdom,

I don't mind the colour of the hinges used this time. However, the choice of orienting them is a bit strange. The legs can splay outwards but cannot be posed in a walking position. So great if you want to raise a leg like a dog at a lamp post but not much else.

I think it looks cute. Our kids will love it.

I guess there are no suitable hinges to do it properly at this scale...

A nice reindeer, is it even worth it to get: Shrimp Shack Attack, Dino Fossils and some pieces now or is it better to wait for Black Friday offers?

@The_Teenage_Brickster, in hindsight I'm not sure I like the green background. It causes a greenish tinge on the bricks :)

@Huw, 30027 at least allowed the legs to swing forwards / backwards, rather than sideways.

And it does appear to be just a re-issue of 30474 from 2016, so no need to get this one unless you collect the packaging too.

I picked up 9 of these a couple of years ago when it was sold as 30474 in a polybag.

By in United States,

I was going to say it’s just a reissue with a new set number. The moment I saw it available, I knew. I have that downstairs in my Lego room. I think I may have had a couple of them.

Free Lego is always welcome, but then again I don’t need any of the pieces so I’ll wait.

@Huw the green background looks perfect with no added color cast on my monitor. I love it

By in Belgium,

Why on earth would they go to the additional cost of changing the packaging and instructions (however small) in order to re-release it so soon under a different number, except to annoy polybag collectors?

Really not liking TLG's direction these days.

As I said when news of this first came out, I already have a full sled team of these including an extra for Rudolph. Got it originally as GWP from Target a few years ago & picked up the extras when they were on clearance after the holidays. I don't get the need for TLG to re-issue these with a different set since it is exactly the same set. I could understand if they had changed the color of a piece or two but it doesn't seem that they made any change to the build. It;s a cute set but I'm waiting for some of the other upcoming GWP's. Hopefully the sets on my wishlist won't be sold out or back-ordered when the new GWP's become available.

It’s the same as Creator 30474 Reindeer set from 3 years ago.

Cute little build. It feels like it was just revealed.
