City Advent Calendar - Day 16

Posted by ,

After a day outside on yesterday's snowmobile it will be great to get back indoors for something hot to eat.

Lucky, then, that we have some sort of cooking appliance. It looks like nothing I've ever seen, though!

It seems to have a special feature that fires a pizza out the front when it's cooked!

One ring on the hob is a bit mean, given there's room for two but I suppose it will suffice for cooking up a few bangers or something.

By in Germany,

Very strange looking item.
Perhaps this was meant for the Star Wars calendar initially. The "frying pan turbolaser" and "pizzablaster" unit, found in the background of the trench run scene - if you pause at the correct frame.
;-)

It looks unfinished... a couple of dials and studs and another hot plate would make more sense

Yeah, definitely a case where the budget wasn't friendly enough to the concept.

Simple, but could be expanded for sure.

I saw the round plate as a "Pie" and not a Pizza.

I know LEGO has a Cream Pie mould but that wouldn't fit in the "oven"

By in Canada,

Reminds me of those outdoor “kitchen islands” that got a barbecue built in

By in Australia,

I remember opening it, this morning, and thinking, "wait, what?" I mean, it's quite small, and it doesn't seem conducive to a family Christmas feast if the oven is using the pizza as a projectile. I also thought there was a wasted opportunity, because Lego does have a printed piece it uses for pizzas.

I also realised something today. There's 8 days left ... and, if you look closely, there's 8 items, on the box, that we haven't seen yet. It's one thing they really should be more careful about. Isn't the point, to an advent calendar, the surprise gifts every day? We're just barely over the halfway point, and there's no more surprises, we know what's in store.

I don't think it's 100% meant to represent a Pizza per se, but more like a generic type of Christmas Pie or up to imagination.

A whole new meaning to wood fired oven.

Nice.

By in Germany,

It is illegal to import this oven onto the Discworld. In connection with its dwarven baking traditions, in must be regarded as class 1 deadly weapon. As for the LEGO world, I wouldn't recommend it to the elderly, either.

By in Finland,

I'd like to imagine that's a huge pile of gingerbread dough that's being cooked

By in Sweden,

This was quite an original build if I do say so myself. Although I wish it was bigger, it's pretty awesome! 5/5

Given the frying pan on top and the basic golden-brown round tile, I assumed this was some sort of pancake shooter. Still not sure why we're weaponizing whatever food it is, but at least it's kind of fun.

Very disappointing! Let’s not make food into weapons. I know what pizza does on the inside of the mouth when eaten fresh out of the oven...

But wait... maybe this is to symbolize a trap from Home Alone. The thieves walk into the kitchen only to have scalding cheese flung at their faces... maybe it is a work of genius...

I’m still going with disappointing.

When I open the door to something like this. I really wish I’d bought the HP calendar instead...

That's why I bought both! :D

By in Ukraine,

The pan made me think it was a pancake. Pretty sure my 4 year old is going to lose it no matter what food substance it is.
