Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 6

An attractive Gryffindor banner emerged on day five. That decoration looks reasonable, although some people have expressed concern that three more flags may dominate the calendar.
Hopefully something completely different might appear on day six...
Despite her important position throughout the Harry Potter series, Professor Minerva McGonagall has appeared in remarkably few sets. This minifigure was introduced with 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall and looks marvellous, wearing an elegant dark green robe which is beautifully decorated and matches the character's clothing from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The pale blue designs are superb, in particular.
Moreover, I like the black hat which compares favourably with the source material and McGonagall's face looks good, albeit lacking the alternative expression that appeared previously. Nevertheless, the only improvement that would have been beneficial would have been to replace these printed legs with an alternative dress element, thereby matching the sketch model for 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall which was shown at New York Toy Fair.
Overall - 4.5 - Professor McGonagall is extremely popular and this minifigure looks fantastic, reflecting her onscreen appearance, but could have included the aforementioned dress part.

Not giving her a dress here, where she doesn't need to be able to sit down, was a missed opportunity, but even without it, I don't mind another McGonnagal at all. And it's a great fig to include for all the people who don't have don't have the Great Hall.
I'd rather an exclusive variant in a perfect world, but its a great figure regardless.
My son and I got this advent calendar on the agreement that I get Mcgonnagal and he gets everything else in it. Mixed emotions in our house this morning lol
Battle of the Licensed Advent Calendars continues. Entering Day 6, HP fans were weary of what is on the horizon, considering yesterday's tragedy. But they appear to have dodged a bullet, as today's offering yielded a highly detailed Prof McG- a rarity across the HP line since 2001, as the author rightfully points out.
On the flip side, SW produced a buildable rendition of the Resistance Transport. While a neat design, there are elements of the transport missing, and based on the respective scores of the day, HP takes a quiet "+1", knowing the fear of more "Day 5's" looms large. The score adjusts as follows:
HP- 4
SW- 2

I'd've preferred a version of McGonagall with hair, of course, but I am impressed at how well that hat piece holds up for the character after all these years!
Really happy to get a McGonagall with normal legs so she can finally sit down and join the Great Hall banquet!
I own the yellow version from 4729 Dumbledore's Office, but the dress piece always frustrated me and of course the yellow head and hands don't fit the rest of my flesh figures.

This is why my daughter and I each needed our own Advent calendars.
As someone who's never owned any McGonagall variant whatsoever, I'm really happy to get this one. This is a great figure. The only thing that I think would've improved today's offering is a grey cat piece to represent McGonagall's animagus form.
