Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 4
Posted by CapnRex101,
First Order forces continue to dominate the new Star Wars Advent Calendar, establishing greater consistency when compared with its immediate predecessor released during 2018.
Presumably the trend will continue on day four...
Several different First Order Stormtrooper variants were introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, including heavy assault troopers who wield FWMB-10 repeating blasters. Of course, the minifigure that emerged yesterday was not dressed for using the megablaster, lacking supplemental charge packs, but an alternative weapon is certainly appreciated and this blaster looks great beside the Stormtrooper.
The black and white colour scheme compares favourably with the movie and I like the black roller skate which represents hand grips. In addition, the white blaster rifle is only otherwise found in 75217 Imperial Conveyex Transport so its return is welcome. The articulated stand looks good too, although this cannot fold up properly. Displaying the blaster as though it is being carried is therefore quite difficult.
Overall - 4.0 - Accessories from Star Wars Advent Calendars are rarely appealing but this example has taken direct inspiration from the films and looks superb.

Spreading holiday cheer, one blaster at a time.
They’re getting some good mileage from those rollerskate parts this year aren’t they?
So many uses for Roller skates.
An aside - have to like the improved perforations in each day's window this year. Much better than destroying the box getting out each gift.
Roller skates are really useful for a lot of things, especially wheels for microscale vehicles (see any of the Winter Holiday sets)
It's not a weapon rack, at least?
Seems LEGO is arming the FO a lot, but I an Imperial guy myself.
Honestly? I was glad for this:D Classsic blaster in white? ok!:)
White blaster, nice
Battle of the Licensed Advent Calendars continues. This one is tough- both the HP tree and this entry leave something to be desired. Edge goes to HP, simply because the model is is an improvement on yesterday's offering and because it achieved a 4.5/5 today. Score is now:
HP- 3
SW- 1
To be continued...
Cool looking weapon or a rare white blaster at least. Shout out to double_bubble from yesterday .... a mechno-chair, so that's what it is. Just need to find it now ...
Who put this Advent Calendar together? General Hux perhaps!!
My 8 year old was excited to open today and find 2, yes TWO packs. Not just extra pieces of the small parts but a complete duplicate.
My apologies to anyone who opened today to find it empty.
Is white a new color for the blaster?
I too appreciate the white blaster, and the larger weapon that it is a part of is very impressive too. But this is where TLG confuses me, as CapnRex says, the stormie that uses the heavier weapon is different to the one given yesterday. So why not show the SW fans some love and instead of including a generic FO stormie, give us the heavy weapons specialist that appeared in a GWP polybag a while back if memory serves me right. He had a great single tile backpack too, a really cool minifig.
The advent calendar is a confusing beast, hats off for giving blasters rather than stud-shooters but why the generic minifigs such as the FO Stormie and the forthcoming all too familar minfig, who shall remain nameless. I thought battlepacks were for army building, not advent calendars.
Whoo, white blaster!
A white blaster? Now that's fun! I always love a recolor (or in this case, cheaper source of a recolor!)
It's a good looking blaster, yet I'd feel a little disappointed.
