Shocker, carousel oos when it went live!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Carousel is out of stock already. another early night.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Carousel was actually out of stock at 11.50 when I checked. So it was never even in stock for the deal when it launched

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pfffft!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yup, i checked b4 midnight and was already oos so not sure what point there was in including it. In my wishlist it shows the reduced price but errors if i try to move to basket. Pretty pointless...

By in United States,

I hope the US gets the Hogwarts Clocktower on sale Monday. While that was available in Europe, it was not in the US.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The BIG Lego con offering discounts on sets you have no intention of selling as you have NO STOCK
10257 today , 70620 on the 30th very very poor Lego

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The "biggest black friday" at Lego is a huge dissapointment :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The issue is countries with different time zones, say France, they get sets earlier than the UK and when it gets to the UK getting the offers the good stuff is gone because LEGO share the same distribution centre for online orders as the rest of Europe and use the first come first served basis meaning later time zones are sorta unlucky and its quite unfair that they don't limit countries so others can get a chance at getting the good deals.

By in United Kingdom,

Well that was a waste of staying awake... what’s the point of holding the sale back til midnight but not any of the stock?!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The. Brick Friday minifigure bothers me. What an odd thing to commemorate.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

So BF is mostly a USA thing....yet not getting this BF fig promo?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is the minifigure ‘after 8am only’? Why not just straight away after midnight?

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Because they want you to buy their leftovers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

... and the GWP Christmas Tree, basically all out of stock by Friday morning at local store and online is ridiculous. Pretty pointless even advertising them for availability as long as they did.

Gravatar
By in United States,

US stuff is meh, unless you want a Voltron.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Parisian Restaurant 30% off

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

in NL The Carousel was in stock at 0:00-0:03 after refreshing the page. First without discount and after 30 sec with.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So I had not intended to purchase anything else since my "Pre-Black Friday-VIP Weekend" purchase, but I just got on the site and saw Parisian Restaurant was 30% off. And since I'm hearing that is the next modular to retire? Had to get another one. Lego got me again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Shame the big Harry Potter castle never went on sale. Guess sooner or later I'll just have to suck it up and pay full price.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For those that don't know or forgot, the Voltron and the Parisian Restaurant will be retiring this year so buy them on Cyber Monday (30% off!) if you can. For the US at least. Also why is a "Brick FRIDAY" MF or brick giveaway being given out on a Monday?... Logically does not make sense and dumb, but profit-wise, a nice motivation for people to buy more. Hopefully it'll be sent to LEGO stores and that I can get one...

By in United Kingdom,

@Minifig290 , yes that is a problem, particularly as Greece, for example, is 2 hours ahead so by the time we get a shot at the offers in the UK they are usually OOS.

@The_Rancor , it's 10am in Greece, 9am in Germany and 8am in the UK so at least we all get a fair shot at getting one.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The only Black Friday set I bought was The Hidden Side Haunted High School. From Amazon for £61.99.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@yuffie - same here

@Huw - anyone tried to complain about that to Lego?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Now no Christmas Tree GWP in basket - must have all gone.... minifig only

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@csiramokus sent them an email about it, but no response, see if they reply in a few weeks time... no high hopes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I ended up getting a couple of random sets on sale to get the black minifig. I was planning on getting something larger but the Christmas Tree offer ran out in the UK sometime between 1am and 8.30am. :(

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Is the site down? I try to order some stuff @lego.com but by every click I make I got a pop-up saying, Sorry, but an unexpected error has occurred. Cyber Monday? ;(...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

No free minifig in Canada as of now...:(

By in Germany,

This time I am really mad at TLG.

Stayed up late. Carousel out of stock - right from the beginning!

Tried again in the morning in the faint hope that some might have magically reappeared in stock, but of course no luck.

Tried to at least order the Pop-up book and some Pieces plus the Lady Liberty Brickhead, but couldn't send off the order because of missing pay button (again). So called customer service, all the while checking the clock for the opening time of our local store. After endless waiting got through on the phone and managed to resubmit my order. In the end this meant arriving at the store five minutes after opening. Tried to phone the store on my way there to reserve one Carousel but while the line was not engaged no one answered anyway. Got there and was told that all 10 (!) they had were picked up in the first five minutes, just seconds before I arrived. Strangely I saw no one in the vicinity carrying some suspiciously large LEGO bag or anything of the kind. Somehow I do not really believe them.

Plus what irony, supposedly missing this set in store "thanks" to having to call-in to their service hotline to get an order across that only didn't go through because of their smegging webstore in the first place.

Left the store furious. First time ever I was so mad I almost kicked in their door on my way out!

And just saw, Pop-up book now also OOS. What's the point of an exclusive minifigure when everything you can buy to get it after a certain point in time is just the useless standard rubbish?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

To be fair to TLG, to a marketing person it would seem like a really good idea.... their logic being... at this stage the midnight big stuff will have gone, we really need to tempt people to take the 20% off stuff and reduce stocks.... what can we do to encourage people.... let's have an exclusive minifig 8 hours later with a low (ish) threshold...

it's no different to a large department store having "final discounts" etc... near the end of a sale.

I'm just glad it's all over and I can go to bed at a decent time now....

My main swag..
Day 1 - Holiday Train and Dragon Boat Race
Day 2 - Disney train, Saturn V and Batmobile
Day 3 - stayed up, bought nothing... passed - wouldn't have bought Ninjago as have already
Day 4 - Betrayal at Cloud City
Day 5 - stayed up, bought nothing... passed - wouldn't have bought carousel anyway

didn't want to complicate with vouchers so now sat on 50k+ points.... just need it to arrive when my lovely wife isn't in so doesn't see it all ;) haha

Would have liked Tantive IV to come up, or Hogwarts Castle.

Gravatar
By in Greece,

@Hue that is true even if I did not buy the carousel my afol friends did! I also dont get why there are different sets available in different countries for example in South Korea the James Bond ™ Aston Martin is on sale which was on my list...

We unfortunately get to pay more...another example the Carousel was 160,99 € in Greece whilst in Germany was 125,99 €!!!!

By in United Arab Emirates,

Black Friday minifig gets black hands but Black Card VIP millenniumFalcon minifig got yellow hands... Weird.

Also, was this BF MF available online in US or Canada? Cause I never saw it show up in my cart!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The minifig is kind of ironic too, at least in Germany.

There's a saying here if something doesn't look good (meaning the outlook is bleak).
It's "da sehe ich schwarz" ("I see black"). That figure is terrifyingly appropriate in that respect.

By in United Kingdom,

I placed an order at 7.30am. Christmas Tree available then and confirmed after I placed the order. I still have it on screen. Christmas Tree missing from online order and email confirmation. Hour and half wait for live chat only to be told it's sold out. Too late to cancel order (2 hours? Most of that down to their live chat wait). Usual pointless apologies, but offered nothing in its place, no VIP points, no alternative GWP, nothing. Simply told I can return the order if I don't want it. Seeing as the cheapest tree is now £33 posted on ebay I'm not going to be able to get it. I'd never have placed the order if the Tree wasn't going to come. Manager supposed to ring me, but nothing. Final straw for me after the other issues this week. I'll send it back, close the account and never buy direct again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

USA doesn't get the minifig? That might have made me order something

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wanted to get Voltron, but they did the old Bait & Switch with that one.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, I wasn’t after this exclusive minifig but needed to put my hands on discounted carousel... as most ppl I was unable to purchase online so I visited Lego store in Westfield white city (lucky to live in LDN at least for this reason). There were plenty in stock and being the first customer at 10am I had no problems. Topped up with £9 worth of little things, Used my £20 of vip reward and still got Christmas Tree (they had several baskets behind the counter), Santa, some vip poster (?) and a 2x4 ‘brick Friday’ brick.
But my main thing was really 10257 for which I effectively paid £91...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm never buying a modular building or big Ideas set at less than 30% off ever again. I can wait a few years for the price to drop from the small 5% off VIP discount. I really want that Treehouse, but I'll buy it in November 2020 for $140. I'm always optimizing my purchases to maximize their discounts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

so is that mini fig not available in the States?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Expect all to be back in stock or on back order tomorrow when the specific discounts end. Or am I too cynical?

Gravatar
By in Mexico,

México didn't get the minifig and some of the most appealing sets with discount are OOS or never had discount (Parisian modular, Voltron, HP Clocktower). And the Christmas tree was OOS by Wednesday.

No doubt Lego continues to be unfair with some countries when it comes to the distribution of GWP and discounts.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Only Lego could release a Black Friday minifig on Cyber Monday.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, all I can say is I’m very impressed with the Black Friday offers this year. I got voltron with 30% off with a few more sets which gave me double VIP, buildable red brick and the Christmas tree. Yesterday instore I got another set I wanted to get me the free brick Friday brick and a Santa polybag. Today online I got another set which gave me the Black Friday minifigure. Very happy. Some lovely extras, all free. Nothing to complain about there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voltron was in stock in the US until almost noon central. If someone didn’t get it by then they didn’t want it bad enough.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So the deal is a Minifig that commemorates the day that the deal was available. Odd.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Samdefisher

Even though I did not buy anything from TLG, I agree with you that this year had some good deals!

Gravatar
By in United States,

For Black Friday, I just bought stuff from Brickowl(at full price). The reason being I needed specialty parts. However, if I had had the money I would have bought Parisian Restaurant! Ah well.... maybe next sale, if I can.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So there's a Black Friday 2019 brick and a Brick Friday 2019 minifig, and neither appears to have been available in the country that made Black Friday a thing. Makes about as much sense as when they had the UK LEGO Store employee minifig available as a surprise GWP for online sales in North America, I guess.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Preferred their more straight-forward approach in prior years. I was quite busy over the 5 day "holiday" shopping weekend due to a work project. Disappointed by the way they went about announcing staggered sales / promos via email. By the time one saw the email, went to the Website, they were already sold out. I'm typically 'on' these things... but not this year, I guess. =(
