Gingerbread House, Obi-Wan Kenobi and double VIP point promotions at LEGO.com

Three new promotions have been launched at LEGO.com today and these are currently available around the world.
- 40337 Gingerbread House free with any purchases exceeding £100, $99 or €100.
- 30624 Obi-Wan Kenobi - Collectable Minifigure free with any Star Wars purchases exceeding £40, $40 or €40.
- Double VIP points with all purchases.
The double VIP points promotion is running until the 9th of December, 40337 Gingerbread House is available until the 24th and 30624 Obi-Wan Kenobi - Collectable Minifigure will be available until the 31st of January, 2020. These promotions are also running at LEGO stores.

Secured a gingerbread house! No shopping problems today! :-)
It's about time that Obi-Wan became available! Now I can finally get him without shelling out an exorbitant 2nd-hand price! Plus, since he's available until 31 Jan, then the winter 2020 Star Wars wave, including the Mando battle pack and Tatooine sets, should be out by then.
The Australian store seems stripped of anything not easily available in the shops, including the large gingerbread house. Not acceptable at this time of year!
Blame LEGO for not having enough stock in the Australian warehouse (which seems to have been a problem ever since it opened).
Cute, but I did all my shopping two promos ago!
I'm getting a bit annoyed with LEGO with all these give-aways in a row. I already bought the Gingerbreadhouse I wanted and I waited so I could get that Christmas tree. Make one give away for the month december. It's already an expensive month and we don't need LEGO trying and tempting us to buy more than we need.
Why not let VIP's "buy" those giveaways for VIP-points?
Too bad they still don't have the actual gingerbread house in stock.

No thanks... got my Creator Expert Gingerbread House, 2 Christmas trees and few other things during Black Friday period... Now, I instead hit Amazon via Brickset link and supplied myself with 5th and 6th set of 60197 Passenger Train. The deal was simply unmissable... and having 3 complete trains I can think of expanding on my train station to accommodate more departures/arrivals especially that additional 2 x 10233 are also arriving. So overall expensive Christmas about which my gf is yet to learn and scream shortly after...
That is a cute little gingerbread house. This fall I have to pass on new Lego sets just because of house stuff (converting from fuel to electric heat and hot water) so I put together a reasonable facsimile of 40139, the GWP gingerbread house from 2015, from my collection. I like this new one but 40139 is my fav of the three gingerbread houses Lego has made.
This may be the first Gingerbread House I get but I may have to pass on that Kenobi figure as I am aimimg my SW shopping for May 4.
Obi-wan? That's a name I haven't heard in a long time...
And here's my Christmas present. Buying Yoda covers both freebies - I'll tell my wife just to wrap up the whole LEGO box. These are the best deals!
I was hoping 10267 Gingerbread House would actually come back in stock for this promotion, but that hasn't happened.
I'm not going to pretend to know anything about logistics or inventory management, but this seems like a huge missed opportunity for Lego.
Unbelievable! Lego (US) offers this promo but is out of stock on the full sized item that is the ideal compliment.
Shaking my head at Lego's incredibly poor planning for this promotion...
@Kynareth @jonwil I feel your pain. I’m getting more and more frustrated by the Australian store’s lack of stock—particularly with the last wave of Lego Movie 2 sets only being available for a matter of weeks before being marked ‘temporarily out of stock’ for months and then disappearing completely.
I’d love to place an order now to get both the gingerbread house and Obi-Wan Kenobi; however, of the 61 Stars Wars products ‘available’ online only 24 are in stock and 13 of those are keychains! Of the 11 sets left to chose from there are none that I want.
The best Christmas gift from Lego (to me) would be if they improved their Australian supply chain. I know we’re a long way away Lego, but I think you can do better!
They describe the Obi Wan as a Collectible Minifigure, but LEGO can't do an actual CMF series (probably 'cause of Hasbro.) Wonder if this is a sign of a change of heart or if they're just reusing a common term.

I'm also peeved that the full size Gingerbread House is still "out of stock" for this promo. I tried to balance my purchases during VIP Weekend & Black Friday-Cyber Monday and gambled that the Gingerbread House would still be available but I lost out. Now I have to try to cobble together enough items at full price to reach the minimum purchase. It kills me that most of what I still want is considerably cheaper from other sources. Have to decided if it's worth paying full retail just to get this promo. I lost out on the other mini Gingerbread house a few years back because of the same crappy "out of stock" issues.
Wish we could see the back of the Gingerbread House promo set...does it resemble the rear view of its big brother?
This was welcome news this morning as I had a modest Star Wars purchase to make and VIP points to spend. Seems like a long time since we had a SW minifig GWP, so I was one happy bunny. Then I noticed it was one of those yellow-faced 20th Anniversary figures - instant turn-off. Can't wait for that whole thing to be put to rest. I shall wait until for another double-bubble day.
To finish on a positive note, in my last purchase I've found the new online VIP voucher system does actually work. It takes a bit more effort on the customers part, but at least it works.

I don't understand the complaints about Gingerbread House is beeing on back order.
You still get the freebie set, maximum the big one arrives later.
I've been waiting for a while now to place an order when the mini gingerbread house promotional would be active...but every item I planned to order is now temporarily out of stock. I hope I will be able to place an order during the promotional period.
