By in United States,

Upside Down is my pick. Ideas Treehouse is a close second, followed by the Ford Mustang.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Tree house, by far! Thank you Cesar!

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Voted for benny's space squad just fir being the only one that I own

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Close call between Apocalypseburg and Upside Down, both extremely creative.

Upside Down wins it for me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Benny for me as it is just such a fun little set as well as being cheap as chips.

But Would happily give additional votes for the Lunar Lander, Mustang and Deep Sea Creatures as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Its a bit odd realizing how many large D2C sets we got this year, when I realized my favorite (Disney Train) is not even on the list; while I had completely forgot sets like Apocalypseburg (an amazing set) were even 2019 releases because they feel so far away in the world of Lego D2C sets now.

I guess of the sets on the poll, Vader's Castle is the only one I got; with Stranger Things, the modular building, and the Lunar Lander being the only ones to make my wish list.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Treehouse is number one for me, amazing set! The Upside Down and Benny's Spacequad were also great. I really hope Lego releases more sets containing classic space astronauts in other colors (e.g., black).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This one is tricky, especially as the chances of anyone owning them all are slim. It's on my wanted list but still expensive, so on looks and the fact I have seen the series Upside Down.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Space Squad first, then Deep Sea Creatures

The rest are either Licensed or mega-sets.

The €10-€20 price range is very important to have good sets in.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voted for Treehouse as I own it and really like it! Second would be the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Deep Sea Creatures. Fantastic little set and the build for the head of the shark is probably among the best you currently get as "official" Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Glad to see that each of my nominees made the list, but that makes it a tough choice. I have to go with Darth Vader's Castle, while secretly hoping that Benny's Space Squad wins it to show that a big price tag isn't necessary to produce a great set.

May the worst day of the New Year be no worse than the best day of the Old, everyone!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Another year without subdividing these into price points or subsets... These really don't all compare and the smaller and non-collector sets really don't get the attention they deserve.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Defender. If I had space for it I'd buy the set instantly :/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very stuck between Treehouse and The Upside Down!

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

First: 10267 Gingerbread House

Second: 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Judging only on what I own, I have to vouch for the Batmobile. It's a thing of beauty.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

UCS batmobile and the upside down, the Technic Bugatti was a nice set too..

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Let's be honest LEGO needs to make more houses like Emmett Dream Home (back closed), I missed Ideas Dino Fossils but I was ultimately split between Vader Castle (I own) and Tantive IV (I want), I honestly forgot which one I chose.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Deep Sea Creatures. While the other ones on the list are great models, that little set best captures what Lego is all about: building anything you can think of from the parts you have.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Good point. There are way too many high price sets in that list for me.
Wrecking Ball was my favourite. Really clever design in an affordable set. I know nothing about Overwatch, but still wanted (needed?) this set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tried to stay away from the IPs but the Mustang (is it an IP?) was my favorite build this year. Loved it (not biased at all by owning one right now)!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Gingerbread house, sorta sad the Flintstones wasnt in there.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

From this list I was left with Mustang and Central Perk. And since I only got Friends set its here where I place my vote. I really like the TV series and the lego rendition is absolutely perfect. It's a wonderful set full of details and I got it for 50$ which I consider very good price.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disney train and steamboat Willie are my top 2 but neither made the list

Gravatar
By in United States,

Upside down got my vote, but the lunar lander and the Mustang are both fantastic as well

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Upside Down for me, by a country mile. Unique and captures the series so well.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Titan Mech. Incredible set. So different to other mechs, so large, detailed and sturdy. Gorgeous.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Deep Sea Creatures! 4-in-1 with the whale and all three of the alternate models are pretty solid, unlike most Creator alternates.

Gravatar
By in France,

Apocalysebourg ! ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Of the sets on the list, I vote for Gingerbread House. Of the other new sets this year, my favorites were definitely Steamboat Willie, Disney Train Station, Empire State Building, and Crawler Crane. Thanks for this!

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I can’t view the results or even the nominees after voting, please fix @CapnRex101

Gravatar
By in United States,

Had to choose between the Batmobile and Gingerbread House...both have cool sets with great minifigures. Ultimately went with the Batmobile since it brings back a lot of memories.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mustang is an excellent set!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

31088 Deep Sea Creatures. I voted for this because it's a reasonable priced set, it's lots of fun and very good value due to the quality of the three builds.
I want the best set of the year to be something that every fan of LEGO has a realistic chance of owning.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only set on this list I own is the Slave I...

So of course I picked Vader's Castle

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of great ones there, but I ultimately went with Welcome to Apocalypseburg!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Upside Down is my pick all the way. I've been waiting so long for a LEGO Stranger Things set and now my wish has become true.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As much as I like the gingerbread house and the honorable mention of clock tower, I really had to go with Apocalypseburg.

This is such a unique and different set compared to anything I have seen Lego do.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I love Benny and The Deep Sea Creatures, but I voted for Benny as I actually sort of play with them by changing their little poses regularly. I tend to keep my buys small to medium, but I think I would relly enjoy that Treehouse, if I had it...Benny and his buds would be all over that tree:)

Gravatar
By in France,

Hesitated between Treehouse and Tantive IV, I said Tantive but... close one!

Gravatar
By in Italy,

UCS ISD. One the best set I've ever see

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for the Upside Down. It’s a great design that will remain iconic even after the Stranger Things show is forgotten.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Welcome to Apocalypseburg for the win!!!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Voted for the Apollo XI Lunar Lander because it makes perfect use of brick geometry, it separates into modules, it's minifigure-scale, it's realistic — and, above all, it is a very affordable set! It was a day-one purchase, even though there was nothing to encourage it, unlike the 1989 Batmobile, which is my second choice due to its impressive character (and that I bought on day 1 but haven't built yet). Tree House ends up third on my podium because it's just so lovely and colourful!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I've voted for the Batmobile. I can't remember a year when it was harder to decide than this year though. Well done, LEGO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mustang, with the Tree House a close second. Of course, I'm biased because I got the Mustang for Christmas and don't own the Tree House. The Ford is simply amazing with the level of detail and accuracy. The engine even has a small tank for wiper fluid.

All of these options are great sets though. Nice choices!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Central Perk, my honorable mentions would be Upside Down, Kylo’s Shuttle, The 89 Batmobile and Benny’s Space squad. All four are fantastic.

Gravatar
By in France,

I'm a modular guy, but the Tree House wins this one. Corner Garage still gets 2nd place in my heart, but it simply couldn't compete. The new Bookstore might be difficult to beat next year though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gosh, dang. I had nominated the Mustang as my top pick before, but I really appreciate (and want to encourage) when lego puts a ton of work and clever design into lower priced, less flagship sets. I think I ultimately have to vote for Deep Sea Creatures for being such a clever and well-rounded set, as well as accessible to all.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Welcome to Apocalyseburg!! <3

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

I love cars, especially model cars, I love the Mustang, and I think LEGO has done a superb work in replicating this iconic car. Simply had to vote for this one!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Batmobile!!!! As a 5 or 6 year old kid all I ever tried to build was an x-wing or the 1989 batmobile. The star wars theme has more than delivered for decades but FINALLY Lego gave me an official 1989 batmobile. It's so cool! And it came with a minifig scale version of it too!! :D amazing!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Vaders castle for me, Tantive IV in a close second though with Gingerbread house 3rd I would say

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voted for the Mustang. Genuine work of art.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Was caught between Upside Down and treehouse but chose the former for pure ingenuity (I also have a strong Stranger Things bias)z

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for the Imperial Star Destroyer, but my top pick wasn't on the list (75257 Millennium Falcon).

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Def the Mustang. Then the Lunar Lander a few inches behind.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of great sets this year. All the ones listed in the top 20 are great & there are more that didn't make the cut. Tough choice but I have to go with Welcome to Apocalypseburg. It is so unique & different for a LEGO set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Had to vote for Treehouse, just a marvelous build

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hard choice between the Titan Mech or the Slave 1. In the end, the Slave 1 wins.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Since it's the end of the decade, have you guys considered taking all of the favorite voted sets and combining them into a best set and minifigure of the decade poll? Just a thought

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

That's a really tough choice, if Good Morning Sparkle Babies! had been nominated I'd probably have voted for that but now I'm stuck between Benny's Space Squad, Treehouse, Central Perk, The Upside Down, Welcome to Apocalypseburg! and Gingerbread House...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Happy New Year! Please, anything but Space Squad - it’s going to be pretty boring if classic space just rules the roost when so many great sets have come out this year - it’s a great shortlist. I said the UCS Star Destroyer because i’m biased, but the Ideas and Creator Expert sets have been fab in 2019.

Good idea on the mods’ part to disallow viewing of the results of the poll before they get revealed though - at least we can hold out hope that anything is in contention!

Gravatar
By in United States,

1989 Batmobile. I don't even care which one (big or small) is officially on the ballot.

@amok:
@randomly_generated:
That may be by intent, and the minifig poll may have been set up incorrectly. The end of the article says results will be published early next year, and they may want to keep the results secret so as to prevent any attempts at ballot-stuffing, or even just to prevent anyone from spoiling the surprise. If you _REALLY_ want to see the list of candidates, you can probably easily see them by...just logging out. It should be your account that's flagged as having voted, not your computer. Log out and there won't be any active vote flags, so you should see the full ballot along with a note saying that you do have to log in to vote.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Deep Sea Creatures. So good it's a 3-in-1 with FOUR official builds. All of them outstanding.

I expect expensive sets to be great, and many of them are. But Deep Sea Creatures is a standout in the sub-$20 category. So good I bought two.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

1. Garage Corner
2. Central Perk
3. Treehouse

Gravatar
By in France,

I may not vote since 3 of my favorites are in the list but I have built none of them yet

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Benny’s Space Squad - nostalgia value for older AFOLs like me with playability for kids all at a reasonable price. Maybe not just the best set of 2019 but the best of the decade!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I'm not a huge fan of D2C, UCS sets. I don't really see them as toys but as display pieces for adult fans.

That's why I voted Slave I, cause also in my collection the UCS version will be sold now that I have the System version. I prefer System to UCS. Same with the Imperial Shuttle, AT-ST. If they ever make a UCS AT-AT, I'll stick to my System one.

Runner ups for me this year: Deep Sea Creatures, Benny Space Squad, (Shrimp Boat)

Gravatar
By in Luxembourg,

I voted for Tantive IV. So much fun to swish around and it looks great.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

For me it was a difficult choice between Darth Vader's Castle and the Tantive IV, but the Castle won in the end. I just love it's menacing look and it has a nice, albeit slightly cramped, interior with the fantastic 'Vader in bacta tank' minifigure among many great ones.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

As I own 5 sets listed here it was though to choose which I liked most out of them. In the end I voted for the corner garage as I just finished building it yesterday. The other sets follows:
1. Corner Garage
2. Benny Space Squad
3. Ford Mustang
4. NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander
5. Slave I

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I think it can be fair to say that most can afford to buy a $20 set at some point. I propose that everyone try to add 75976 Wrecking Ball to their building and playing experience. With all the ingenuity of all the sets on the list including this one, you would have at least experienced the amazing minds of TLG, in a much affordable and smaller scale. It comes from a hot and fresh Overwatch theme, and it includes a unique specially molded adorable minifigure. You can display it, you can definitely play with it. Does it all and it looks great!

Top Value, top ingenuity, top playability, top displayability, unique and great looking, all goes to 75976 Wrecking Ball! Best Set of 2019!

(And I know nothing about the game:)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Slave l, because Zuckuss!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Benny's Space Squad and Central Perk

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Jurassic Park

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I owned Upside Down at day one. Wonderful, best of 2019. My second place goes to Benny’s Spacesquad and Apocalipseburg at the third.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

What is my favorite theme? Star Wars. What is the set that looked best while delivering the most bang for the buck? Kylo Ren‘s Shuttle. No doubt about it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My favourite... the Dinosaur Fossils set (21320) is by far my favorite! I wish it was on the voting list.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Upside Down, hand's down ;)
A close second: the Lunar Lander and Ford Mustang!

Can't go wrong with any of them. All MUST gets for any Lego collector.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

great idea!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Quite honestly, I probably purchased more sets this year than ever before as a result of having the money to do so, but for the most part they have been older sets that I bought used at bargain prices (I may have more money this year, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to change how I buy Legos). Most of the 2019 sets I purchased have been for my kids. The lone exceptions being 75249 Y-Wing, Benny’s Space Squad, and I got the Flintstones set as a gift. All good, but considering I bought 4 copies of Benny, this poll was sort of a no-brainer!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lunar Lander. Just a great model - and the 50 year tie in made it a must have.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Jurassic World. really love it.

[Link to clone brand website removed]

Gravatar
By in France,

Go Tantive IV :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Voted Deep Sea Creatures - thought about going for Upside Down or some bigger ones but this little Creator set captures everything that LEGO should be

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It just has to be Benny's Space Squad. There's not even a choice here

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm surprised 42110 Land Rover Defender and 10269 Harley Fat Boy didn't make the list but there you go.

From that list, it has to be 10266 Apollo Lunar Lander for me. It was my Christmas present and is an excellent rendition of an iconic piece of equipment. I was expecting it to receive greater billing throughout 2019, more in line with what we saw with 21309 Saturn V but seemingly it has not. Too niche a subject I guess.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I still can't view the results. Any progress, Brickset?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I voted for Corner Garage. Despite the lack of "love" for this set, I really enjoyed the build and was happy to add it to my collection. Tantive IV and the UCS ISD are great....but I do consider these "remakes" in many ways (nevertheless, the designers did a fantastic job).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@randomly_generated - The poll results are hidden to avoid influencing the result but will be revealed next week.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

So why is the result of the minifig poll available after you've voted? I must say I prefer it like this, more exciting then!

Gravatar
By in United States,

That list! This year was an excellent year for top-dollar, high quality sets. And a hard year for my wallet.

(I ended up landing on T-Rex Rampage, although tbh, that vote could have gone 7 or 8 different ways)

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Tree house, great build and not as difficult as some people mention on a Lego facebook page.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@essel - I agree with you completely . . . Lunar Lander for me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why is Darth Vader Castle on the list when it was a 2018 set?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

wrecking ball!!! i don't even play overwatch but this is such a lovely, fun to build, fun to play with, affordable and adorable set. incredible value all around and, although it's not the most amazing or display worthy set, i feel it is one of if not the highest quality set on this list

Gravatar
By in United States,

None of the above. The City: Spaceport line were my favorites of the year.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I chose the lunar lander, since it is a great companion set to display alongside my Saturn V rocket. Plus having grown up with the Apollo missions as a kid might have influenced my choice somewhat :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gosh, I wish I could pick two! It’s between darth Vader’s castle and Welcome to Apocalipseburg!
