Blocks Magazine Issue 65 available now

Here is the press release for the next issue of Blocks Magazine:

Blocks magazine Issue 65 is on sale today. The latest monthly edition provides more than 100 pages of LEGO features, reviews and technique guides – with improved paper quality and an upgraded perfect bound cover.

The cover of this month’s issue features LEGO NINJAGO, with the Review section taking a look at the theme’s latest sets as well as the Chinese New Year releases and 10270 Bookshop, the new Creator Expert modular.

An entirely new theme has launched this month – LEGO DOTS. To get a close-up look at this new concept, Blocks magazine visits the HOUSE OF DOTS to speak to Design Lead Amy Corbett and Camille Walala, the artist who designed the incredible installation.

It is not only Billund-based designers who work with LEGO bricks all day – LEGO Certified Professionals are located around the world and make a living from building. Ryan McNaught, Robin Sather, Dirk Denoyelle and Rene Hoffmeister reveal what it is like to work as a LEGO professional and how the program originated.

With 10272 Old Trafford bringing sport back to the brick, the Blocks magazine staffers debate the merits of Manchester United’s stadium getting the LEGO treatment. There is also a look back at 10 occasions when the LEGO Group has ventured into sports, with some entries on the list more fondly remembered than others…

Baby Yoda turns up in Month in MOCs, as the fan build section showcases an impressive rendition of the breakout character from Star Wars: The Mandalorian. For fans of the saga, there is also the second part of the incredible Mod Squad project that details how to give the Ultimate Collector Series Star Destroyer an interior.

Blockstalgia takes a look at Paradisa, the classic leisure theme that paved the way for Friends, Building Blocks focuses on the 2000s, the decade that almost saw the end of the LEGO Group, and Q&A reveals how LEGO demos can make science fun.

The regular sections are packed into Issue 65 too, including Month in LEGO, Technique, Rebuild Challenge, Ideas Showcase, Piece Perception and Retired Part.

Is this a brick set magazine?
Because I see you do a lot of articles about them.
Just wondering thanks.

They’re not affiliated, it’s just a Lego-related magazine and there’s very very few of those so they keep tabs. They also posted about Brick Fanatics whenever there was a new issue

By in Singapore,

A suggestion for the brickset team: Maybe the Blocks magazine issues can be made as an item in the database because I'm sure a lot of people might want to keep track of their Blocks collections. Thank you!

@CapnRex101 : nice article, but don't forget that you still owe us answers to the Brickset Puzzle from two weeks ago...

Is this a global publication?

My local Barnes & Noble hasn't stocked them since December. The last issue they sold was issue 61. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm curious if it's a widespread reduction in distribution in the US, or if it's just a problem with my local store.

By in United States,

I just checked B&N's website and couldn't find Blocks anywhere. I wasn't aware that they ever stocked it in the first place, but it seems like they're silently stopping. Nefarious.

House of DOTS sounds like a great place to get kicked out of.

@raist7 - Yes, the next selection of puzzles and the answers to the previous group will be published shortly. I am currently occupied with 10271-1 Fiat 500!

That Baby Yoda's face looks absolutely cursed. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight.

The Blocks Team is based in the UK, as you can see in the subscription area where the US and Europe cost are drastically increased. This is because they are airmailed and, especially now due to coronavirus, they are sending less and less post to the US, so some areas of business might get a loss because of the high plane/shipping prices and therefore a lack of buyers.

I get mine from WHSmiths where they are £4.99 each. I’m looking forward to the next issue!

By in United States,

So, I checked the BN website and the Blocks publisher site to find it near me to no avail. However, when I stopped in my local BN they had it on the shelf. Hopefully they continue to carry it and it wasn’t just a leftover issue. $14.99 isn’t cheap, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

By in New Zealand,

Its a good magazine, but their subscriptions are an utter rip off - compared to other UK based magazines, they are 3-4 times the cost despite using the same airmail service.....

By in Spain,

It is an honor to have my MOC of Baby Yoda/The Child/Whatever featured in BLOCKS Magazine! I wasn't expecting to find it in the cover, I must say.
