martyf has chosen a Technic set for us today:

As a kid, I loved LEGO: my brother and I had a mishmash of 80s space, plain bricks and the odd new small set. I also remember one year I received the Technic Control Centre and was so excited for that too!

But as we grew older, the LEGO was passed on to cousins given we were just not using it - if only I kept it as there would be some amazing bricks in there, including original Benny!

When I was in my 20s, I was off sick from work. I was walking back to the car from the doctors and happened to walk past a toy store that had LEGO Technic in the window. I had a sick certificate for a few days and decided to buy the Cherry Picker to keep me occupied.

This was the start of the resurgence of LEGO in my life - buying and building Technic sets over the years, loving the large sets like The Disney Castle and The Upside Down, and of course, Lego trains that I always wanted as a kid (but never got).

While the Cherry Picker may not be the most memorable set itself, it’s a meaningful one for me.

This one looks like a Scania P410.

A truly great yet somehow a little underrated Technic set.

That's just it, isn't it? It doesn't matter what the set is, as long as it has meaning for you. I personally think this is a pretty cool set, so don't sell your memories short!
