Posted by Huw,Today we are talking to Aidan Woodall, aka woodchuck5533, a student in Albuquerque.
What is your first LEGO memory?
I remember my first LEGO set was 4705 Snape's Class, from 2001. I still have most of the pieces, including my Ron Weasley figure, whose hair, head, and torso are all glued together.
Did you have a dark age and if so what caused you to emerge from it?
I never really had a dark age. I’ve been a nonstop fan of LEGO my whole life.
Which set or theme has been most influential upon you, as a LEGO fan?
While Indiana Jones is my favourite theme, Harry Potter has probably been the most influential. A lot of the models I build are inspired by what I see in film and television, and the Harry Potter line has taught me the most about accuracy to the source material.
What are you building right now?
I just wrapped up Paddy’s Pub from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the entire building. It took a lot of tan and brown pieces, as I was going for a full interior and full exterior. I also recently finished the McCallister house from Home Alone, now seeking support on LEGO Ideas!
Do you build MOCs? If, so what?
I do! Like I mentioned earlier, I recreate my favourite locations that I see on screen. As I sit here typing, I have near me Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment from Seinfeld, Wallace and Gromit’s rocket from A Grand Day Out, Paddy’s Pub, a custom Ghostbusters firehouse, the RV from Breaking Bad, and, my personal favourite, Floop’s castle from Spy Kids. I’m a big fan of Spy Kids. Most of what I build are characters from movies and TV shows. I just recently recreated Seinfeld, Scrubs, and The Brady Bunch.
What is your favourite part?
I have a few. I love the old ghost headgear, I love the newest Han Solo hair, and I love any dual-moulded sleeve or shorts pieces. Those pieces add so much detail and accuracy to characters that I recreate. But my all-time favourite part has got to be my rare production error smooth Princess Leia hair.
What set/theme/part (take your pick) would you like LEGO to produce?
I would absolutely adore more Indiana Jones sets, as well as Home Alone, Spy Kids, any franchise that I watched growing up. It would be absolutely insane if LEGO produced sets for films by my favourite director, Quentin Tarantino, but I can dream!
Do you have any interests or hobbies other than LEGO?
I love movies, especially films by Quentin Tarantino and the Safdie Brothers. I love to write, I love thrifting, I collect VHS tapes, and I play Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto V. Lots of media-based hobbies. I also love stand up comedy, and I’ve even performed at a couple of open mics.
Why did you choose your Brickset username?
Woodchuck was my nickname in elementary school!
How long have you been visiting Brickset?
I have been a member since 2012, but I want to say I started visiting the site in 2010. I get a lot of my LEGO news here.
Do you have a presence on Instagram, YouTube or elsewhere?
I do! I have an ever-growing presence on Instagram: @stuntmanbrick! I have been running that page for over a year now, and I just passed four thousand followers! Very proud of my work there.
Thanks, Aidan!

Those are some really nice MOCs!
Congratulations for replicating real buildings!
Just a question: who are you in this picture? I read "student", but why to appear in your dedicated interview near another guy? Do I supposed to know him, is he an icon, a LEGO Saint or something? Is not mentioned in the interview or I didn't see it. That guy must be proud to appear with you in the main picture of your own interview and not inverse.
He is not Tarantino, this is for sure. Keep it up, and don't be upset on me, please.
Great McCallister house MOC. Does it come with the traps too?
Love those MOCs. I really have to get back into building some myself. If only my current LEGO room would unclutter itself...
Is that Vince Gilligan (creator of Breaking Bad) with you ?
LEGO sets based on the work of iconic directors would be great... not just Tarantino but Christopher Nolan, Edgar Wright, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick... Wes Anderson seems particularly suited to LEGO, with his bright colors and symmetrical designs. I'd absolutely love a Grand Budapest Hotel or one of the designs from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

*puts on his best Jeremy Clarkson voice impression*
It is in fact not Vince Gilligan.
It's Vince Gilligan's LEGO loving brother.
Haha. Nice picture. Didn't need to read the article to learn where you're from.

I think it's a city ordinance that everyone must have at least one photo with a Breaking Bad cast or production member, lol. I saw it and my first thought was "Vince is an AFOL??"
Oh hey I follow him on Instagram. Always posts really cool stuff.
