Tips and Tricks #9

Posted by ,

Hello everybody, Tiago here with another Tips and Tricks!

Today we're keeping our minifigs happy with cosy chairs, and some sweets and fast food essentials!

As always with part lists and video instructions in the links provided!

Rocking chair

A rocking chair will always make things cosier! Or maybe the western porches need a couple of these! Another failed tip, left untouched for weeks until a decent solution made it work!

Gumball machine

Inspired by a build I had done for a former colleague of mine when he was designing 31077 Modular Sweet Surprises. I decided to do an updated version, even smaller to work even better for minifig scale! I will never say no to sweets, and your minifigures will agree now!

Hot dog cart

Maybe more of an American icon but still something that I wish I saw more often around here, I'm crazy about fast food! Hot dog cart complete with storage for extra bread and sausages, and don't forget your ketchup and mustard!

Thanks, I love these articles. I haven’t made any of the builds yet, but it’s nice to know that whenever I need an easy Minifig scale item, I don’t have to spend hours trying to make one my own.

I like the Gumball machine. I am thinking of a use for 3 of them. Thanks for sharing these tips

That rocking chair rocks! :)

The gumball machine could use part 98375, or possibly 33291 for the turn crank instead of 4697. But otherwise pretty cool!

By in France,

I love this rocking chair. Once again amazed by the fact that it is scaled down to minifigs and nonetheless instantly recognizable and useable. I will build it this weekend. Thank you for this new article.

Something like that hot dog cart is what I had in mind for the portable bread-baking station I am putting in my NINJAGO City block extension. Instead of hot dogs, the vendor sells bread. To maximize oven space, he doesn't have a portable source of energy--he siphons it off a geothermal electricity generator nearby!

By in United States,

When I visited NYC during winter, there were a ton of hot dog vending carts, but they all smelled like a tire fire. On the other hand, the first meal I ever had in Alaska was from a similar cart in downtown Anchorage just a few hundred feet from the visitor's center. Not only did it smell better, but they served spiced reindeer sausage. Quite tasty, but I had to press my dad a bit on that one. He wanted to go to one of the other 3-4 carts because they didn't have a line of customers waiting to be served. I was able to convince him that there was a good reason that only one cart had people lined up.

Nice ideas! It would make a change indeed to have something other than hot dog carts...

I still love these Tiago tip articles... the only way to make it better would be to add part lists to the builds.
