Tips and Tricks #13
Posted by Catarino,Hello everybody, Tiago again, and today, its time for the LEGO kids to have some fun!
Cool builds for your LEGO City playgrounds with part lists and video instructions in the videos provided.
Sandbox
When the beach isn't near, sandboxes do the job, and as a father myself I know how this in the real world can buy us some minutes of peace and maybe 60 to 70% less screaming if you have more than 2 kids!
Slide
If you don't have pre-moulded slide elements you can work your way around with tiles and brackets!
Colours are important and make this an instantly recognizable playground icon!
Bouncy Castle
A few weeks ago, one of LEGO's daily building challenges was to make a castle and I thought to myself as I always do when thinking of castles, "Grey is boring" (sorry castle fans!)
So the obvious colourful alternative was this one. I can almost smell the rubber!
As always, Build Something Fun Today!

These are excellent!
Really love this one. Maybe I would add a more bubbly Floor to show the instability
of a real one.
Awesome!. The kids will love to help building these.
I think I have just enough space left in my Modular Buildings park for the sandbox.
That’s awesome. I love these designs!!!
These are just wonderful. I loved all of them, just from the pictures, before I even clicked on the article.
As usual, fab!
Toys at play, one of my favorite themes :)
My favourite so far - I love all of these!
Stunning work! Very usable ideas
These designs are awesome! This is why this series of articles by Tiago have quickly become one of my favorites of the site :) :) :)
The castle itself t's the type of design that in my opinion would be an excellent polybag or GWP (with a minifig or two included).
This is perfect for my winter village.
Awesome and colorful small builds!
Reminds me I have 41325 tucked away somewhere, maybe time for a playground baseplate
Oh wow. So cool!
This might be my favorite one yet. Great work and thank you for sharing.

Indeed. You should check his YouTube channel - I use so many of his mini-builds in my modulars

Great channel, highly recommended!
These are awesome! The video tutorials are clear and straightforward. However it would be helpful to have a part list that makes it much easier to buy missing pieces. Does anyone know if these exist (either free or paid)?
I want everything from every "Tips and Tricks" article to be a fun Extras polybag that Lego frequently does. All of them.
I used to fill my sandbox with water from the garden hose to create a mudbox when I was little. When I got a little older I started using it as a desert for my Toa and Matoran of Stone to live in
I LOVE the jumping castle, IDK how this dude does this stuff?
I love the designs but the bouncy castle is out of scale (too small) for minifigs.
Excellent, this might be the best of these articles yet!
The best tips and tricks to date.
All of these bring fond memories of my childhood, thanks for these builds.
Something weird I discovered a few years back is that the "standard" grey castle is really limited to a few geographic locales. In terms of traditional European stone castles, they built with whatever they could quarry locally, which resulted in a wide variety of weird colors (go shop for granite countertops and you'll get a better idea of what's possible).
@Watsonite:
Not every bouncy castle is huge enough to fit every kid in the neighborhood. I did actually find two images of actual bouncy castles that are about the right size for this model, though neither is an exact match.
They look lovely, but I don't have the resources to support these builts.
