Wow, Technic sets from the 80s are something, aren't they?

I remember when Technic sets still used System elements. Now all we get from System in Technic are the occasional headlights and steering wheels.

Looks like a Honda Monkey. You gotta admit these small Technic sets were great; nowadays you need to spend $30 or more to even get anything worthwhile

The alternating gray and black pieces represent the cooling fins of the engine, with a black kickstand below than can be rotated up when moving.

3 Technic sets released for the whole of 1 calendar year, my goodness... compared with (to date) 14 Technic sets released for 2020.

I like what we see today, but I miss the raw simplicity of the old sets.

Quite ugly by today’s standards for technic, but it looks jolly interesting!

Slap on a couple of (dozen) stickers and you'll have yourself a Ducati!

The picture doesn't show it, but those tires only had one good side. A 360 view would really destroy the model.

An odd set stuck between two years of multi-build universal building sets 88??. From the low set number cannot help wondering if someone found this down the back of the sofa from 1977 and thought we forgot to launch this, better late than never. Unlike the dune buggy that year with a working piston there has no Technic functionality apart from steering? I wonder what the alternative model B would be?

Yes, but we now get a lot of Technic in System!

A set I had but no longer can find. It was my first motorcycle, and not a bad one at that. What was a a real first for me was this set having the black pins that fit very snug in the holes of the beams. Up until this time, I only had the grey pins that as we all know in those old sets were very loose-fitting.

A motorcycle from the year 1924?

Oh wait, 1983, looks like a classic , but I remember 8810-1: Cafe Racer from 1991 from catalogs much better due to it's distinct printed headlight tile.
