Brickset Bouts: extra time for voting in the semi-finals

Posted by ,

As I write, one of the semi-final bouts in our tournament to find the best set released since Brickset was founded in the year 2000 is very close and there could be a major upset on the cards!

So, every vote counts and I urge you to cast yours now if you've not done so already:

I'll give you a few extra hours to do so: I'll leave voting open until 4pm. (It's a nice day, I'm off to the beach...)

Remember to social distance on the beach Huw!

By in Turkey,

So a penalty shootout possible at the end of extra-time?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So I guess your favourite isn't winning? ;D

Already voted in one bout, couldn't decide in the other.

By in Poland,

I vote for 10243 and 21310.

By in France,

All 4 are amazing sets. What would the upset be?

By in United Kingdom,

I really wish that the Restaurant and Ninjago City were meeting in the final rather than here....

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I’m really sad that clikits and scala didn’t make it to the top4... :(

Enjoy the beach, Huw!

By in Germany,

No time to go to the beach here. Oh and more importantly, no beach ;-)

I already voted for my two favorites and am keeping my fingers crossed they will meet in the finale. If they don't, I will simply watch the finale from the sidelines and get some popcorn for the comments.

By in United Kingdom,

This is just like when FIFA extended the voting for Ballon d’Or to help Ronaldo.

Now the question is who is the big favourite, I would say Restaurant and Rocket?

Hoping Ninjago is the upset and keeps ahead.

Mind you all these conspiracy theories and it's just that Huw doesnt want to have to rush back from the beach to post the results lol.

By in Switzerland,

I think it's simply that a hot sunny day is a rarity so worth taking advantage of (Not having to rush back to post the results).

By in United Kingdom,

Gotta make the most of those beach days when they happen in England.

Keep away from Weston Shore Huw, you'll sink in the mud!

I'd recommend the Golden Sands at Hoylake, but that's a little too far away from the South. ;-)

Please also post the results at the time of the original closing time so we can see what, if anything, the extension changed.

Why? Extra time can swing the results both ways. "

Extra time for people who haven't voted, those that did can't vote again.

I'm at Stokes Bay near Gosport.

By in Ireland,

Come on Old Fishing Store!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hoping for the Parisian Restaurant and Old Fishing Store to win, fingers crossed.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I can see it already - the major upset being the Old Fishing Store over the Saturn V.
No other result could be considered a major upset.
Sorry to be the spoiler!

Unpopular opinion: Ninjago City and Apollo Saturn 5.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Parisian Restaurant for the win!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I lied, THIS is the last rant: Put Roller Coaster heads up against the fishing shack!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I guess the shakeup might be that the finale will be OFS versus PR, even though I would have liked to see NC facing the Saturn V.

Come on, remaining Space and Ninjago fans - you can still make it happen!

With you all the way.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I mean at this point what would be considered an upset? All four have made it thus far. It's not like there is some come from behind winner. Personally think it should have just been called.

Gravatar
By in United States,

But.... where's the Piano?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Whatever the results, they'll upset someone!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I swear if Ninjago City loses.....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Whatever the results, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed ??
I own all 4 in the semifinals, so found it very hard to choose - 3 of them are still assembled/displayed.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I have my favourites but own and love all 4 sets, so they're all winners to me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

how do you vote? (stupid question I know)

If you go to the homepage, there'll be two separate articles/polls for the bouts. Once you've scrolled past the write-ups, you'll be able to vote for the set you want to win. (=

Personally voting for Ninjago City. It really is a phenomenal set.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I am happy to own all four semifinalists, and truth be told, all four of them deserve the title imho.

It's only because I advocated the Saturn V in the first round that I have to slightly favor it over the others for the selfish reason that I would love to win something LEGO- or Brickset-related. I have never won anything yet, so this would have been a welcome first. If it doesn't work out, well, as per usual it will be just my luck I guess.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If I take into consideration where my 3 semi-finalist sets are displayed, there can only be one winner for me - Saturn V is displayed in our downstairs toilet...

That's exactly how I feel about the Parisian Restaurant, the set I advocated for.

35 degrees Celsius by the lake, but unfortunately a killer bacteria prohibits all swimming

Can that really be an unpopular opinion if both of those sets got to this point via several popular votes?
