I thought it wasn't available in Europe?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

If stocks are really limited I can’t understand why they’re allowing each user to buy 3. :/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ You can order from Europe to have it shipped to someone in the USA.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Such a shame! I hope TLG changes its mind and decides to produce the set for a wider release later this year or next year.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Will it be available in the UK?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I thought Lego would stop selling regionals. Now this is what I call a regional release...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have a US freight forwarding service as we often buy some things from US... Lego appear to have put in place IT to stop you using your freight forwarding services... My order was placed, accepted/confirmed and then cancelled... here's the email.

We’re really sorry, but we’ve had to cancel your order because we couldn’t process it with the shipping address you gave us.
To make sure that your details aren’t shared with a third party and your parcel gets to you safely, we don’t send orders placed with freight forwarding or third-party shipping addresses.
If you’d like to place your order again with a residential address, you can do this on LEGO Shop or by giving us a call.

Available in México, too!

Cos all stock is in USA as was meant to be sw celebration exclusive. You can buy from Oz. Just need a USA shipping address.

Gravatar

Since it´´ s available in México and Canada too, I think there must be a chance that it will be also available in Europe at some point, maybe September 1st?

By in United States,

I set my alarm for midnight Eastern Time. Placed my order for two sets at 12:05 with no problem. Woke up again at my normal time of 4:30 a.m. and am surprised to see the set is still available. Perhaps the stock is not as limited as originally assumed. If the supply truly is limited, I, too, do not at all understand why LEGO would allow a customer to buy three. I felt somewhat guilty getting a second, but will likely save it for a friend.

Same here! Ordered from NL, having it shipped to a friend. Were you able to pay with a non-US bank account? I still have my US bank account from when I lived there, but it would be nice to know I can also use my Dutch bank account.

I'll pick it up with the rest of my LEGO I have stashed there in due time. I could not bring it when I came home last year due to baggage allowance, but was planning to pick up last spring. That obviously did not happen due to the global situation.

I was logged into my lego account but region set to US, ordered to send to cousin's Address in US and payed with mastercard. It shows in my usual list of orders.
Must be ok as elsewhere I saw anyone can send lego to friends as a gift etc, but in this case it needs to be an American address.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Here’s an idea, now bare with me Lego; reduce buying quantity from 3 to 1 (as you have THAT much stock) and make it worldwide.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got mine! So excited for it.

Gravatar
By in France,

Such a shame it's not available in EU. What 75227's drama was all about? NO MORE GEOGRAPHICAL EXCLUSIVES. So I guess TLG LIED to us.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Can we ask one of the members of Brickset to act as a shipping addres for us in Europe?

I can buy from here, pay with creditcard, have it send to the US address. Then the receiver ships it to me and I will pay the shipping costs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ Yes, go ahead.

Gravatar
By in France,

So sad and somehow shameful it's not worldwide available. As a SW fan, it is a must have to me, very nice display piece. Might MOC it though but it would never feel as satisfying as if I could receive it from Lego. Sorry for negative point but I hate more and more those exclusives.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Oh man, such a shame they're not available in Europe! Anyone in the US willing to help me out and ship one to me in the Netherlands? :)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I fell asleep and woke up at 12:35am and thought for sure they were sold out but no. I was able to place my order. Surprised at 6:35am that there is still stock available and still available at ToysRus.ca

Gravatar
By in United States,

On backorder from LEGO in the US. Target doesn't say why, but won't let me check out (I have a RedCard). Just says "currently unavailable" when I go to the cart. I guess the universe is telling me to save my money!

Ah! fell asleep before midnight! ordered one but it's on back order :-/

Gravatar
By in United States,

5:30am Eastern US Time: Logged onto Target, had it in the cart but it was marked 'currently unavailable'. Logged onto LEGO and had no problem ordering.

I'm happy to get one as this is one of my favorite scenes, and have loved MOCs I've seen in the past. Also, pleased to get the new Vader minifig without the price tag of Deathstar Final Duel, and Bespin Luke minifig without the price tag of Cloud City.

What a lousy marketing BS. Hope you will receive it this time around!

And hoping it will become available still elsewhere, even if the statement was that it isn't going to happen.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bought mine on lego.com just now. It was listed as backorder though. Is that how it was right at the release time too or did they run out of stock?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really disappointing, being located outside of the US and unable to get one. :-(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was waiting for it to appear at midnight and it popped up at 11.55pm yesterday, so I jumped on and bought two. I slept with a smile on my face last night. My favourite scene in my favourite movie captured in Lego. Perfect :-)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Sold out at Lego.com US and Canada
Hopefully I was able to order from Toys R Us!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Received some kind offers from US residents to help out but the Lego store in US says it is sold out.

I do not understand why Lego allows people to buy three sets, now Europeans can buy the set via Ebay or Bricklink and pay a lot of money. Buying via Bricklink is also supporting the income of Lego.
There already two sellers on Bricklink offering the set for USD 100,- . One seller from Canada even has 5 (!)sets to sell.
I think Lego is doing this very wrong ad will make a lot of people go away from Lego.
It would have been better to limit it to 1 set per buyer, then more people could have enjoyed this set.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Should've called the article: "Bespin Duel available now, but only for Americans, no one can reasonably get this" and that would've been fully correct

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I apologize if my previous comment seems aggressive, I'm just really peeved by this being only for Americans and no one else

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like it is now sold out at lego.com and target US.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Snapped up 3 as soon as it was released. Will possibly purchase more today!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just looked at the instructions - simple build with spare parts ......... If I was that keen Id get a bunch of stickers made too and flog spare on eBay :O) Its good but 40$ good errrr questionable

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disappointed they are sold out already. My big question, is will this be limited quantity or is Lego going to continue printing more of these?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like it's back in stock at Target US.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Snapped up 3 as soon as it was released. Will possibly purchase more today!"

... so that you can sell 2 or more at an inflated price to folks who weren't fortunate enough to get 1 before they sold out? Congratulations, I guess?

Of course, if your real intention is to donate the sets to Fairy Bricks or the like, then I am legitimately happy for you (and the children).

Gravatar
By in United States,

It was sold out five minutes ago, so I checked Target and no luck there. Then, on a whim, tried Lego.com again and was able to purchase one. I'm happy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just ordered one (not three) through Target US. Fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For those outside the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, I think you will actually be able to get this at a far less secondary price then had Celebration actually took place. Unless you were planning on attending Celebration, you would’ve had to get it on the secondary market anyway. And now that it’s cancelled, this set is more widely distributed across NA. Imagine if we didn’t have our Covid situation and Celebration took place - the secondary cost of this set would be much higher.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

It appears to be sold out on LEGO's Canadian website. However, I was just able to order it from toysrus.ca. Free shipping too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stayed up until midnight in order to pick one up for myself. Knew if I didn’t get one early I wouldn’t get one at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was looking at something on Facebook when I saw that this set was available. Checked my VIP points and was able to shave $20 off. This set looks very cool. I'm hoping to mod it a little and put it up on the wall.

By in United States,

When I went to buy this on lego.com it was sold out, so my mom had to sign up for red card to buy it. I was planning on getting one for my brother, but target has it limited to one per person. I’m thankful to be in North America to be able to get one, but sincerely hope that it will be available for the rest of the world someday.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Out of stock. The Limit 3 is absurd.

And back in.

In, out. In, out. It’s like bad 70s...um, filmmaking.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just saw this post and tried to buy from Target. The website processed my order for 1 although the mobile app said it wasn't available.

Supposed to arrive Friday the 4th.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So much bellyaching. It's regional. Get over it.

Gravatar

Grabbed one a few mins ago, its gone out of stock (again) delivery time is 60 plus days... good job no rush as relative in USA will be sitting on it for a while anyway.

I don't think this will be the case because there is a lot more into it.
If these exclusives are sold at conventions they get picked up by non-afols, mostly people trying to get something back for their costs to get to the convention and to pay for some of their bills. They're certainly not all afols, I think most of them aren't.
Because it was now sold on the lego.com website it was only ordered by afols which will keep it for themself (which is logical) or afol scalpers.
So the real 'stock' which will go into the market will be severly less then otherwise, meaning much less afols outside the US will have the chance to buy one because more afols will have bought it already directly.

Gravatar
By in United States,

First time in a while I had to buy a set at full price haha. Still, buying this is a much better alternative to get the new Vader. I'm really dumbfounded though, assuming this is a limited run, why is LEGO allowing people to buy 3? The reasonable choice would have been to limit it to one per person. Either LEGO wants to encourage scalpers or maybe LEGO will be producing more. Guess we'll find out at some time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@nymnyr8694 Was that really necessary? Total lack of empathy for those who really wanted this set but through not fault of their own couldn’t get it. Of course people are going to be upset and annoyed about it. I know it’s only Lego, but this is a Lego site, so people are going to be passionate about it.

Gravatar
By in France,

So, two main categories in the comments : US fans who are so glad they placed their order or disappointed to be late, or people in other countries who are disappointed this set is not available where they live.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I offered to buy the Wonder Woman set for anyone, but got 0 requests. I bought 3 of these, 2 are already going to Germany... Happy to help people in the future, but need to know in advance. Hit me up before the next release of something, but I don't know when lego will do this again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It appears it is still available through Target in the U.S. That would have been my preferred retailer, but the link went live at Lego first and I wasn't taking any chances.

I concur that the limit 3 was absolutely absurd on Lego's part though. I feel bad that people outside North America can't get this set easily, but at the same time it was kind of annoying when people in Europe were able to purchase 21037 earlier this year while North America missed out.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have one extra set as my sister-in-law got me one for my birthday and I was successful in purchasing one on Lego.com. If anyone is interested in trading for either the Legohouse or Treehouse of Creativity please let me know. In the future I'm more than willing to help order for my fellow AFOL across the pond.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

While I've been lucky to order the set, I sure am disappointed for others who may not get it by traditional means or without spending more money than the MSRP. The limit of 3 isn't great because people with awful intention may order more and resell at an absurd price. I do appreciate those offering it for others outside of North America, that's nice of you.

That said, I've had a good reason to use my VIP points so I'm happy about that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@SithLord196 Very true that we missed out on the Legohouse over here, and a bunch of people in the States probably complained of the unfairness of it at the time, no doubt.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I checked last night at 1245am and saw it was still available. I was on the fence about getting it but I’m not a big Star Wars fan. Reading the thread I wish I got one so I could out a BrickSet member who couldn’t get one because they didn’t live here.

This LEGO set was released at 11:00 PM CST Aug 26th 2020 and was sold out at 9:25 AM CST Aug 27th 2020. That is 10 hours and 25 minutes. MORE than enough time for someone to buy on that really wants them. If someone DESPERATELY wanted this set, they should have been smart enough to know that this was a SDCC exclusive and that will sell out in less than a day. I bought mine 40 minutes after release because all 3 are meant for resell. I waited to give others a fair chance. Resellers charge what they charge because they have to get up in the middle of the night to buy LEGO while you are still sleeping in bed. Then we need to find a box, list the set, wait for it to sell, drop it off at the PO, and wait for you to receive it all because you couldn't purchase the set at midnight.

I did not know if I should tell this story or not, but here we go (please read the whole thing before giving me *&%$. After you have, go ahead):

The guy who had 5 to sell was me. I agree with all of you, the limit of 3 is ridiculous. I did not know how many I would be allow to buy last night when I got on the site to get one from me (I'm a huge SW LEGO fan), so when I saw it was three, I thought why not? Then, when I woke up at 7am, I went on Toy's Rus's website and got three more. That was 6 in all: one for my personal collection, the other 5 to sell. Again, the limit of three per customer is ridiculous, I agree.

After selling 3 in less than 5 minutes, I actually pulled the other two because Toy's Rus has been known to cancel "confirmed" orders in the past. I did not want to sell sets I would never get. (BTW: since I sold the 3 I got form LEGO, there's a chance I will not be getting one for myself, which makes me mad at myself for not having been too smart this morning. But it's well deserved, I guess).

I thought I would put the two I wanted to sell back on BL when Toy's Rus confirmed my order was on the way. However, after what I read here, I'm ready to trade the two extra that I'll have if my order is confirmed with members who have similar size sets I can't get access to. I think this is a brilliant idea, although I don't really know how to materialize it.

One last thing: you can call me a scalper, I accept the title, however, I'm not a greedy idiot. I'm just a guy that has a limited LEGO budget who needs to find ways to feed his obsession.

Yeah. But why make a fuss? Brickset won't criticise them. We only get to read Americans whining because some sets are delayed in the US. When LEGO pull this sort of BS on the rest of the World, that suddenly doesn't matter. Because 'murica isn't affected.

Wow. You sound like the Robin Hood of Lego.... What a hero.....

Gravatar
By in United States,

@djcbs That’s a bit harsh. There are several North American based Bricksetters who have offered to help those elsewhere, and not for a profit it would seem.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not sure I could justify paying $40 for this, let alone whatever scalpers are going to charge.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are still for sale on Target's website. So I would suggest people that wants one, grab one. I know my availability didn't update till around 9:00 AM EST. I'm in the New England region of the USA. So could be a regional distribution thing if showing as sold out in other regions of the States?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This is pathetic, arguably the most iconic scene in Star Wars and they chose to make it a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. Shame on LEGO for celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back this way. This isn't respectful of the 40th anniversary it's a disgrace.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was able to get one ordered late last night.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Limited? I hope I'll be able to find one in the wild!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Wellspring:
The Wonder Woman set was listed as "Pre-orders accepted" and said it'd start shipping on October 1st. At midnight last night, I was just loading the page to remind me to place an order first thing in the morning, and saw it was listed as "Available Now", so I just hopped back on the computer to place an order before bed. Someone in my LUG reported the next morning that it was Backordered, and then later I got a notification that it said Sold Out. That's likely it for stock on this set.

@SarumanTheWhite:
Reports say that they've started to strictly enforce lifetime limits, and any orders in excess of that limit will be cancelled outright. Not that it matters now, since they've sold out.

@Covi:
Only time will tell. Certainly those Europeans who were able to place orders for delivery to the US, or how found willing go-betweens who would forward it on for them, benefited from this situation, as SDCC/SWC sets are limited to one per customer. Either attendees buy them to keep, or they buy them to defray their expenses, but in this case people were able to buy one for their own collection and still offer to help one or two other people out.

@kkoster79:
There's still the SDCC Marvel set that hasn't surfaced yet, and there could be a second SW set since they've been sending different exclusives to SDCC and SWC each of the past few years.

@SithLord196:
You can qualify for a credit RedCard right away and they'll provide you with the account info so you can start spending without the physical card. If you opt for the debit route, you have to link it to an existing bank account, and wait for the physical card to arrive before you can do anything. So, by the time we found out this was a RedCard exclusive, it was pretty much too late to sign up for a debit RedCard in time to make the purchase with it.

@djcbs:
Dude, I'm the first person to step up and explain why it makes sense for US releases (especially during 2020) to be delayed a bit over EU releases. Do I like it? Sometimes it sucks. Sometimes it just means I get a little extra time on the back end to pick up sets that I've been holding off on, like last year's DC sets that I was quickly scooping up over the past couple months.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There is no reason this should have had a per-person limit greater than 1. None. The region exclusivity sucks in spite of the fact that it clearly *does* abide by their region exclusivity policy because it was an event-specific item. The limit of 3, though, solely and almost exclusively encouraged and materially benefited scalpers, as usual. Not a good look.

(Disclosure: I ordered mine online from Target, where the limit was 1 per person.)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just ordered one from Target in case anyone was still hoping to get one. There is a limit of one so unfortunately I can’t help out anyone overseas, but on the bright side, at least you guys don’t live in the disaster that America has turned into! Just view this as Lego’s way of showing some compassion for Americans who won’t be able to venture outside until a nuclear war brings an end to our COVID pandemic.

By in Netherlands,

I think this set will be purchasable in Europe as well. Can’t imagine why not, if they let people buy 3 sets on the other side of the ocean.
And if not, it is a tactical move, to hype the brand Lego. Scalpers just help creating momentum and desire for a brand.
