I know the clocks haven't changed yet, but this year's quartet of Advent calendars are now available at IWOOT, priced at £24.99 for the Star Wars and Harry Potter ones and £19.99 for City and Friends.

IWOOT ship internationally so are a great choice if LEGO.com doesn't ship to you.

Place your order now, and while you're there, check out the range of Brickset merchandise.

By in Canada,

This is just my opinion, but a very curious decision for TLG to jump to Year 4 in the HP Advent Calendar. After a solid first entry into the Advent Calendar scene last year, this year's entry confuses me. Why not go Chamber of Secrets (Year 2) and progress from there?

Disappointing, because I don't see many strong entries in this one. Looks like two-thirds of the set are taken up by the "Yule Ball" scene. Always thought GoF was the weakest of the HP films, which is a shame, because I thought it was the best book.

We'll see how this plays out but I think the advent calendar play for this holidays season will be City, Friends, or SW.

I imagine they are seeking to keep some connectivity between the sets which are currently available and the Advent Calendars, hence focusing upon Goblet of Fire because those sets were only released last year.

Assuming the Harry Potter theme continues for several more years, as I anticipate, it would make sense for LEGO to release an Advent Calendar inspired by Chamber of Secrets during 2022. That could certainly include some interesting items, with the Polyjuice potion, Crabbe and Goyle.

By in Brazil,

When I type 'Brazil' in the search box to see the shipping rate, the following message appears: "We were unable to find the country you were looking for, maybe you mispelt it. Don't feel bad, it happens!"

Or maybe their shipment policy is not so international...

I really like the Star Wars calendar this year.

By in United States,

I noticed that Target is also charging more for the Star Wars and Harry Potter calendars. $40 US compared to $30 for the City or Friends calendars. BAD FORM! Walmart has them all for the same low price of $30. Guess who will get my money?

I feel that LEGO should not show every single Advent Calendar build on the main image of the set. It spoils the builds and could honestly be bad for business.

Target is charging MSRP, same as LEGO.com and consistent with last years pricing. Walmart has priced $10 less for the whole range so the non-licensed were $20 at Walmart in the U.S. I believe amazon was price matching at least earlier today when I checked.

For the current run, the first year of sets covered the first two movies. The second year, they did the next two movies. This year’s sets get into the fifth and sixth book, and next year should cover the final two movies. The Advent calendars are already a year behind, so they may have wanted to at least not lose more ground. After next year, I don’t know. The final two movies never really had a Christmas scene in them, nor does it seem appropriate to that story. Anyways, GoF is my favorite of the films, and my most HP-minded friend says he’d suggest reading the first three books, watching the fourth movie, and reading the last three books just to skip the quidditch match that kicks off the fourth book.

@CapnRex101:
I think Crabbe is the one that got written out of the movies because the actor got into all kinds of legal trouble (multiple drug charges, and illegal possession of a weapon, plus maybe some other stuff). Whichever one it was, the other boy got a real minifig late in the original run. I wouldn’t put money on seeing both halves of the pair show up again.

@MCNwakeboard:
Amazon has been reported as price matching Walmart’s discount on the two IP calendars, and one of the other two, but not the fourth. That will probably be added before too long, though.

By in Denmark,

More female than male figures... That's a first, isn't it?

By in United Kingdom,

Agree with HandPositions now that I have seen the contents not so sure I want to purchase anymore as rather an odd ball mixture of items with only several that have a direct connection to the film, whereas the rest could appear in any city advent calendar.
