Amazon Prime Day LEGO deals
Posted by Huw,Today is Amazon Prime day and at Amazon.co.uk around 30 sets including City, Ninjago, Technic and Friends have been reduced by at least 30-40%.
Check out what's on offer in the LEGO aisle and take a look at everything else while you're there, too. Echo Dots are rather cheap today as well...
There doesn't seem to be as much available at Amazon.com but you might find something of interest.

Nothing that we haven’t seen at this price before. All old sets whereas previous prime days have had relatively new sets. Just seems like an excuse to clear stock.
My son has had his eye on that Hidden Side car for months so I grabbed that
31109 Pirate Ship was around €60 , but sold out super quick it looks like.
I did get that set 2 weeks ago however.
Only 21 results under a Prime Day : Toys & Games : "LEGO" search. And only 18 of those were actual LEGO.
On Amazon.fr, 75288 - AT-AT is at 98.9 €, pretty good deal...
The only thing worth buying around here is the Hidden Side High School.
Regarding Lego complements and additions, lighting kits could also be a fair bargain, considering that their retail price is sky-high to begin with.
All in all, pretty disappointing.
Well I was chuffed. I haven't seen the Tokyo Architecture set discounted much yet so I'm quite happy to pick it up for 40% off.
Looks like the UK got better deals (or ones I'm more interested in like the Architecture sets, X-Wing, etc)...that the sets that are on sale in the US (again, could just be my personal preference).
I was quite pleased to pick up Tokyo skyline for £10 off last week... not so pleased to see it £20 of this week!
That 70676 Titan Mech is a great set and even better at 37% off.
Wow. US got screwed on deals. Promobricks listed the German deals and there is so much more to choose from including newer sets. We got not much of anything.
Man that Marvel Legends Alpha Flight gift box set is really cool. The lego selection .... maybe more is available later?

Re order and return as the original :)

Good idea!
Except it's gone now!
Oh well at least I got it for £10 less than Lego.com!
In the US, Boost (Droid Commander) is $65 off (still a hefty $135). Interesting for the Boost itself; in theory you can program it with Scratch, which expands its capabilities far beyond the Boost app.
Boost Droid Commander is $120 on Target.com, $20 cheaper than the price match I managed to get a couple months ago......
They’ve added the Boba Fett helmet for 25% off on the UK site
Pretty sure the Iron Man Hall of armour was £1 less than the 'Prime Day' price a few days ago.
Got the Minecraft End battle for my son who'd been asking for it (37%? Off).
My favorite in the US is the Grievous Buildable figure Prime Day Deal of $65 down from $80-something.
Looks like Amazon UK are adding new deals on around 4-5hour slots over the next 2 days so keep checking! Boba Fett helmet just added on a 4hour deal for £41!
The US Prime Day LEGO offerings are underwhelming. The Hidden Side lighthouse was up there for a little while but it went quickly.
BUT
Target and Walmart are running their own online sales to rival Amazon. Target didn't seem to have much (and oddly, had a lot of sets "on sale" for a dollar off or less). Walmart didn't have a ton of great sales but they DID have Hidden Side lighthouse and fairground sets for a pretty good deal. And the City donut store also.
TL;DR, it's worth checking out Walmart's online offerings this morning
Yep, per the norm U.S. deals are awful. It's crazy how many retired sets that usually go for triple what they were originally have been discounted to double their retail price. Otherwise the only other set's being sold are the ones they've been trying to get rid of for months.
Amazon AU has some decent Lego Technic Deals. (All prices in AUD) 42111 Doms Charger $119, 42108 Mobile Crane $135, 42082 Rough Terrain Crane $305. Not a prime day deal, but they also have 42114 Volvo 6x6 Hauler for $300. Picked it up at that price myself a few weeks back and loving that kit. Great build and functionality and a great parts donor too.

Granted, but everything sold out super quick.
I put several items in my basket, 8 in total, and when I went to checkout, only 1 was left. So all I got was the Tokyo skyline.

Totally agree that 42114 is both a great set (and great buying). Fairly convinced though that 42111 and 42108 will be able to be bricklinked cheaper closer to EOL.
I did buy a Bugatti from Amazon for $510 which I thought was reasonable buying. Between the fact that it was gone within a few hours of double VIP points and never made it to shelves when offered by retailers at similar prices.
I must say though, Oz seems to have become a scalper driven market in the last 12 months - Nothing over $200 available at LEGO.com after 24 hrs of 2X VIP and anytime retailers have reasonable deals they're gobbled up by staff sometimes before a single set makes it to the shelf. This is followed by the inevitable spike on ebay and facebook selling groups.
Don't get me started on the initial availability (and ridiculous OTT sell price) of flagship sets upon initial release.
As someone who, for many years, used to spend 10k plus a year... these days its 10-15% of that as I wont buy into their game. I'm sure there's plenty of speculative mid term investing occurring but just as many sellers who are happy to operate at sub 10% overall margins.
And Prime Day this year? Yet to find a deal I cant walk away from.

Dude, that sucks. I actually thought of you when I saw them, thinking you may have a chance to really clean up.

I'm not so sure, everything sold out so fast. I got up at 6 this morning (as always, to go to work) and was able to get Tokyo, Dubai, the Creator 3 in 1 pirate ship and Hedwig. It's already been shipped and should be delivered on Thursday. So a great deal for me, but I'm sorry for you...
Funny, one of the deals on sets in the US is for 60233 Donut Shop Opening (64.97 USD), but it is not part of 'Prime day' sales, it is a price match of a Walmart sale... Here is to holding out hope that tonight into tomorrow some pricey sets appear discounted at some point.

Not to worry. There'll be other chances. I have way too many unbuilt sets anyway. Pity about Hedwig though, as our youngest is right into Harry Potter at the moment.
Anyway, I was only amazed that seven of the eight sets I had in my basket sold out right during those roughly ten minutes it took me to choose and get them all added to the basket in the first place. Amazing timing I guess.

Unfortunately it sold out on Target. When I saw it advertised in my Target email I went there right away to see how much it was. But Walmart still has it for $135 which seemed like a pretty incredible bargain as well so I picked one up for my son.

Typically I bought this a few weeks back for about a tenner more...

Yes! It looks like Amazon is now doing some price matches - the Hidden Side lighthouse that sold out as a Prime Day deal is now back at the same exact price as its Prime Day deal price - but it isn't a Prime Day deal any more. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on prices off and on all day today and tomorrow, I'm sure my employer won't mind that at all...
The US target sale seems to have more items in it and several of the amazon hidden side sets are now on sale.
Just tried to buy a Prime Day Deal from Amazon.co.uk but even though I was logged in with my Prime account it still said "join Prime" and didn't let me order. I thought it was possible to order from any European Amazon site with the local account?

I know about having too many unbuilt sets (if that's possible with Lego ;-))... It's strange with the 'lost' sets, but I guess there were quite some people on amazon yesterday looking for the same sets.
The skylines and Hedwig arrived today and when my son saw the owl, he said that he now also wants one because now his sister and I both have one. But I guess my wife will kill me if I buy him another one...
Well prime day in the US was disappointing to me. Not a lot offered that I saw and ‘discounts’ of retired sets that had a big mark up. I was able to grab the Avengers Quinjet for $42 US so it wasn’t a total loss, but last year I got a y-wing AND Kylo’s TIE. Here’s to hoping Black Friday has some deals this year. But the hunt is always enjoyable.
