The only people who bought this early found it via LEGOLAND Discovery Center stores, which apparently at least one put it out for sale early.

The original Amazon link was an error. There wasn't any connection to the actual quantities of the set, so it "sold out" in the sense that the system simulated a sale with a dummy quantity. Amazon will probably honor it (if they haven't already), but officially, the actual link will go live tomorrow. Couldn't it also be midnight tonight, though?

Every single time I want a set like this, I go to sleep or work or blink, and they are gone. And thye never seem to go live when the retailer says they will. Just once I want to be able to land one of these limited sets. (without having to pay triple on eBay).

FYI: The Black Widow Taskmaster set was rumored to go on sale on November 6 and it launched right around midnight Eastern. I ordered mine from LEGO.com at 12:03 a.m. Eastern on November 6, so I would not be surprised if this is a midnight launch in about 20 minutes.

After missing the lightsaber promotion earlier this year I am SOOO happy that this one went live at midnight eastern and Lego gave a coherent message.

Its is available NOW on LEGO Shop @Home nothing on Amazon tho except for one scalper (9pm Pacific Time 11/13/2020).

Brutal. I've been reloading the Amazon page and Brickset for like a week trying to see if this set would be available because there was the same Amazon banner saying the set is coming soon on Amazon.ca as on Amazon.com. Now that the time has come it is not available on Amazon Canada or Lego Canada! Such a disappointment. The Bespin Duel set was available to Canada so not sure why this one isn't.

If you've exceeded the limit be careful Lego has the right to cancel any orders or items that will exceed the overall limit of 3 per account.

Wow, going on twenty minutes of shelf life now. I'm surprised it's lasting this long. It sounds like this one was more anticipated than any of the other Comic Con sets.

It was nice to get the exclusive set this time around, I had missed on Taskmaster and Bespin Duel. I acquired the latter set (slightly damaged box) from Amazon seller for double the oringinal price tho.

I had an extra taskmaster set cancelled because it went over the limit of 3, hopefully doesn't happen to you.

Well that was nerve wracking... ive gotten the other three promo sets so i had to get this one, caught it on here just now, went through checkout... and it spins on the credit card verification, but it says do not close or back. Open a new tab, sold out now. Sit and watch the credit card panel on my cart spin some more, switch to paypal without exiting, finally goes through. Phew.

I bricklink all the comicon sets every year so silver lining to 2020 i got some nice looking boxes and actual instructions for once.

They are up again but I don’t want to try again as I ordered two for a friend and I. If I order again and they both end up going through they could both be cancelled. Really angry if I don’t get one. Can’t even call them!!!!

I placed my order more than an hour ago, received e-mail confirmation of order, and now an e-mail saying status is out of stock...and my order will not be shipped.

My order has already moved from “in process” to “in warehouse” (ordered at 23:55 Eastern) - I wonder if that is an automated process or do they have people working on orders in the middle of the night ? :-)

Whew... Yeah! I managed to buy 3 at 11:59pm EST!!! I don't usually do that...agree, they should have a max of 1. I only bought 1 of the Cloud City Lightsaber duel. But after I got shafted on Yoda's Lightsaber, when buying the Cantina, this will be 1 to build, 1 to save and 1 to sell/trade.

My order is "in process". Two of the three I ordered are for Bricksetters in the UK so I don't feel bad at all about buying three.

I have just had the your order will not be shipped email. How can that be the case when I orders at 5.29 and others have ordered after that. Fuming

My order status also now says “Waiting for new stock.” Fingers crossed. The email update which took several minutes to receive doesn’t say cancelled, but does say the order will be delayed.

A friend got one and now the status is cancelled :(

I did find it curious that the article listed the possible “go live” time as 9 AM EST. Bespin Duel went on sale a few minutes before midnight, which is what happened here as well. At least BD lasted a couple of hours before it went to Sold Out if I recall correctly...

Could also be that searching for it doesn't make it show up yet and the Amazon Lego homepage still shows it as coming soon. Probably doesn't stop people who check sites like this but it won't be obvious how to get one at this time for the more casual buyer. Either way, it's late for both coasts. :)

I really don't get the demand of this set. The other exclusives are better, have minifigures and uncommon parts. This is just a bunch of common parts.

I had one in my cart on Amazon for Noc 26th delivery, then it was Dec 2, then it was OOS.

I really like the Nebulon-B, so I would really like to own this set, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it's available in Europe

A couple months ago they started cancelling any order that takes you over the posted limit, even if you split your orders. So two orders of two sets would put you at four total, which is one over the limit. Either you'll luck out and they'll ship before anyone has a chance to run a report on people cheating the order limit on this set, or they'll cancel one of those orders to bring you back in line.

Bespin Duel wasn't intended for SDCC. It was produced for SWC. None of the five SDCC exclusives (Supergirl minifig, Wonder Woman set, Miles Morales minifig, Black Widow set, or Nebulon B) have been available outside of the US, at least initially. The Wonder Woman set did get released later on in a few EU countries, apparently because they didn't immediately burn through their available stock.

I got two. One is that they just want to get rid of these. The other is that they _still_ don't understand their customers. When the second UCS MF launched, the original store manager at our local LEGO Store had to fight to get them to send him twelve copies in advance, and they were absolutely certain he'd still be sitting on some of them past Christmas. Over 20 people showed up to get in line on VIP launch day before the store even opened, plus he got asked about it throughout the day by people who expected it would actually be in stock several hours later. We also had a few people watching the LEGO.com listing (one guy bought two on LEGO.com while waiting in line to buy a third at the store), so we knew that the order limit went from Limit 5 to Limit 3 to Limit 1 as they got closer to releasing online orders. They were apparently taking guidance from the EU stores that were reporting people showing up to buy stacks of them in person, but they never expected to blow through their entire initial production order on the first day. That was supposed to get them through the wide release a couple weeks later and the holiday shopping season, and the VIP Black card was apparently an added incentive to help them move product so it wouldn't be a complete dud.

The system won't physically let you exceed the order limit on a single order, and they reportedly only cancel orders that put your lifetime orders over the limit. So if you order 3x on one order, that would be fine. If you order 1x on three orders, that's also fine. If you order 2x on two orders, the first order should go through (pending stock availability) while the second should be cancelled as it would net you a fourth copy. For the person who claims to have secured _twelve_, that should result in at least three orders being cancelled (assuming 3x per order). The screwy thing is, they won't cancel individual lines, so if you tack even a baseplate on to an order when you've already hit your lifetime limit, the entire order will be nuked when they catch it.

They should be cancelling a bunch of orders that exceed purchasing limits (just from this thread alone there should be a minimum of ten copies freed up). Once they do that, backorders should be filled from the "returned" stock in order of placement and subject to further cancellations due to exceeding limits.

Based on previous experience, I believe they run the warehouses 24/7 (I've received notifications of shipment with tracking numbers at odd times). When they need more work, someone will release a batch of queued orders for picking, and any further orders that come in after that will sit in the system until the next wave is released. On the other hand, this is still showing "In Warehouse" nearly eight hours after ordering went live, so they may have released these orders as a special batch but not started picking them until they can comb through them to weed out instances of people cheating the order limit.

Ah, yeah, hadn't thought of that. Walmart also imposed limits on their shared exclusives but still let you break them with multiple orders. Only LEGO.com has started enforcing lifetime limits with cancellations. However, I expect there will still be instances of people getting cancellations from LEGO.com due to cheating the limit in that manner, which will allow them to fill at least some of the orders that are on hold. I placed three orders for 1x each for this, Bespin Duel, and Wonder Woman. Of the six orders I've already received, one of the Bespin Duels arrived crushed, but the other five were in pristine condition. I've had bad luck with rain, and incompetent packing jobs (boxes should never be laid at an angle across other boxes just to save a fraction of a penny in packing materials, nor should they be packed like a suitcase for a month-long vacation where you have to sit on the box to compress the contents before you can seal it up), so part of the reason I split my orders like that is to hedge my bets against damaged sets that can't simply be swapped for fresh copies.

I know it seems unfair that these were only available in the United States, but keep in mind these were all Sandiego Comic Con sets. They were only ever intended to be sold there. The fact that Comic Con was canceled this year at least made them available to a wider audience.

It would have been nice if Lego made these available to everyone. Heck I would love it if these sets weren’t only typically available at an exclusive event. I normally am not able to get any of them. This year I managed to get a couple and missed out on some of the others, including this one.

Well, I had a bad experience with LEGO shopping cart... again... I placed my order as soon as it appeared available and got the page confirming the order but it never appeared under my account. Still now it does not appear and I have the copy in PDF and bank charge. Unfortunately I already know where this is going, they won’t be able to see the order regardless I have prove so they can’t do anything. That is so annoying. After almost three hours I placed a new order through Amazon that should have no issues.

Not realizing that it would sell out so quickly I put a load of laundry into the washing machine before ordering. When I went to order the set it was initially sold out, but a moment later it was back in stock. I ordered one and went to bed. When I woke up this morning I had an email from LEGO stating the set was backordered and I would not be charged until it shipped. Here's hoping that I get the set at some point!

Well, I got one! From Ebay :( I told myself for weeks I would not bite. I lost. Now hopefully it shows up.

@purpledave annoyingly too late for me to order now. What’s frustrating is that myself and others on here ordered earlier than some on here who seemed to get them!! Doesn’t seem fair.

I was able to order three, but I did get the email saying there would be a delay because the item is out of stock.
If my order eventually ships, I’d happily trade one of my extras for one of the other exclusives I missed out on.

Wished I'd seen before, looked on EBay and I only see one scalped one at a ridiculous markup here in the UK and a load of scalped ones in the US. Anyone over here with spare wanting to sell one at a reasonable price?
