Continuing with the $25-50 category, Lego_Fan_ recommends a City Police set, while StormGaming picks a Technic vehicle after the break.

60242 Police Highway Arrest is a fantastic set for any young fan from the ages of 5-10. It includes a cop car and a car for the baddie so that there can be a fair match. It includes two Minifigures as pictured in Lego City Adventures season 1 and 2. They are Duke Detain and Vito.

It has some cool little side builds: an ATM, a crate of fish, and a speed limit sign are featured to make the play even more exciting. The cars don't have any play features aside from the ability to seat minifigures and for them to roll just like any Lego car. I would highly recommend this set to any gift giver for that special 5-10 (or yourself) for Christmas because it has a great building and play experience. This set could make their Christmas!

42106-1Stunt Show Truck & Bike
42106

42106 Stunt Show Truck & Bike is set that I obtained during the beginning of the year. It was a fun build and has a nice set of features.

These include a pull-back motor in the bike, a trailer and the truck cab itself, which is the real meat of the set, part count wise anyway. It looks great but only has the most basic of features for a Technic set: steering & door. However, everything looks cohesive with a unified colour scheme of red, azure & black.

There are some slightly fiddly bits, mainly the flex tubes as getting the pins in & out was annoying as heck but that doesn't deter all that much. This set a fair number of stickers which I thnk make the set look better.

We need more nominations for the $50-$100 and $100-$200 categories so if you'd like to get involved, choose a set from the lists linked to then tell us why it would make a great gift for someone. Please send to [email protected] and state the price bracket and set in the title. Thank you!

60242 Police Highway Arrest is a very disappointing almost Duplo-like City set. Especially the baddie car looks kinda unfinished.

That Vito guy looks pretty dope. I don't want to cross him.

ATM? you mean a safe? We know that lego ATMs have been very inconsistent but this is definitely not an ATm

Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure the criminals aren’t looking to make a deposit.

Not to mention the very high PPP of the set, no wonder why it's in the "60132 Wall of Shame"!

I tend to agree that they've gone for very simple builds, but given the amount of cars that resemble sporty race cars, I feel like, with the demise of 6-wide Speed Champions cars, they've used this year's City sets to over-compensate for the loss. I don't mind that all, personally.

I liked "Highway Arrest". I bought it because it had a couple of red pieces that I needed for a project (and, honestly, I was too impatient to wait for a Bricklink order to arrive), but then I really grew to appreciate the cars. The police car in particular ... take off the police insignia, and replace the bright-yellow pieces with white or blue pieces, and you end up with a really cool blue-and-white muscle car. I didn't even bother trying to find a driver, I just put it on the back of a flatbed train carriage as cargo being transported, and it looks really good.

*any city set in the past year and a half*"

I think the Icecream truck and the street sweeper were decent.
