I was originally planning to buy it today, but since we've heard about next weekend's VIP offers in the meantime, I'm going to wait five more days. I think many AFOLs have adopted the same strategy, as the set is not (temporarily) sold out yet.

Who you gonna call?

There might not be a super huge high demand for this set, but you have to remember because of the COVID TLG manufacturing capacity is less that normal. It being still being in stock nest week is not a bet I’m willing to take. I’m going to be standing in line this morning to grab one and will be ordering other LEGO next week to meet the threshold for the GWP.

I was told by my Lego rep with all cancelled/moved movie releases all Lego release schedules went to pot. I thought this was due for release in Feb so maybe whatever was being released now has been delayed and this was bought forward

I’ll wait the 5 days and get it then. No sense in turning down another $10 in LEGO vip points.

Here’s to hoping they get some Cantina sets in before next weekend.

Absolutely.
I'm quite happy with my Ideas Ecto-1 with Minifigures that perfectly compliments my GB Firehouse.
Zero interest in this oversized one.

I can’t see this ever being sold out. I can see this set being discounted 40% off within a year though.

Actually, considering I got my Firehouse on a Shop at Home Black Friday event back in the day, I can totally see this set at a hefty discount on Black Friday 2021 or 2022.

I would love to have an Ecto-1, but I think I would prefer a minifigure scale one as that makes it much more fun. In fact I’ve only ever bought one set that wasn’t minifigure scale and that was the Nebulon B that just showed up at my door.

I really love Ghostbusters, but it can wait til this upcoming weekend, where I can get some freebies. If it sells out, it sells out, I could always try the local lego store then, otherwise there is always the Colosseum but Ghostbusters is first on my list.

I'm sure Lego is curious what the sales for this will be like considering the movie has been pushed back until next year. On one hand, it's a familiar franchise and this is coming out right before Christmas... On the other hand, it's far from the first version of this vehicle that they've created in Lego, it's not minifig size, and the movie just has a couple trailers out that don't show much of the car.

Whenever I get this set, I will definitely be leaving off the rust stickers on it. I'd much rather have it as the OG Ecto-1 and not one that has been sitting in a barn for decades.

Same in NZ, not a happy bunny. I was hoping to use this to get the Dickens GWP too and was going to be the only Lego I was allowed for Christmas :(

The cynic in me says this was deliberate to prevent buyers from using the VIP weekend. They could have just delayed the release by one week!
