By in United States,

This wasn’t easy!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

12/15. Not bad

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

13/15, one wrong and one guessed wrong.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This was tough !

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

10/15, to bad about the smiley faces, really didn’t know about the correct answer.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

5/15, but I don't mind as I bought x2 501st Packs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

11/15. Took a bit to figure out that last one!

Gravatar
By in United States,

13/15
Love these quizzes!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got 9/15! Pretty proud considering I have only built half of them!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

11/15... Not too bad considering I only actually own two modulars! (Market Street and Fire Brigade)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh wow, 11 / 15! That's better than I've ever done on the Star Wars ones, where I'm usually around the 50% mark!

Granted, an early one was... hard to get wrong, since the picture used in the article gives away the answer at first glance! BUT.

I'll admit that some of these were complete guesses, but others were things I remembered reading around Brickset... the name of the Parisian restaurant, in fact, I only remembered because of Master Wu's rap against it during the "best set" voting, of all things. And I'm surprised I caught the last one; I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of Modular Buildings, although I *did* look through them yesterday evening, which is probably the only reason I could get that one!

The ones I didn't get right were 2, 6, 8 and 10. Though I feel a little cheated out of 8; in Brickset's main images for the Modular Buildings, one of them doesn't show a four-wheeled vehicle despite it being included in the set. Since that was the only image I'd seen of said set, I didn't even think that it might include a vehicle too. Maybe that particular set could get its main image updated at some point, to one that shows the full set? ^^

In any case, though, I'm satisfied with this result :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Honestly 6/15 was better than I was expecting. I was just guessing for the most part, I just wanted to know the trivia after the answers were revealed!

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15. That Market Street question seemed like a trick....

Gravatar
By in Jordan,

15/15! Pleasantly surprised, considering that I'm not very familiar with the pre-2014 modulars.

Gravatar
By in United States,

12/15. Not bad.

Gravatar
By in United States,

12/15... one I missed because I just straight-up accidentally clicked the wrong button, and one I missed because I think the question should have been worded more clearly (four-wheeled *motor* vehicles, you mean).

Gravatar
By in United States,

This was a good quiz! 11/15, not bad considering I only started collecting these in the last year. I just picked up Assembly Square yesterday, so I'm excited to build another modular.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only two wrong, good quiz!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

12/15. Pretty happy with that, but nonetheless, lots of interesting trivia I never knew before!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

12/15 is pretty fair

Here's what I got wrong and what I thought.

Got the Question of how many sets had 4 wheeled vehicles - The Assembly Square has the pram which has four wheels, and I thought it was a trick question, but then I realised I didn't read the Motor bit. My fault that one.

Question on the slogan in Corner Garage - had no idea, total guess

Question on which was the first to not have smile faces - totally forgot that the correct answer had printed faces.

Great quiz, I quite enjoyed this one.

Got one question though @Huw do you think that the 2015 40140 should be counted as a Modular set?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Also anyone wanting the epic 10260 Downtown Diner better get hurrying. Spoke to a LEGO Customer Service member on a chat and he informed me they won't be getting any more stock of that set.

Its OOS in the UK LEGO Shop, but atm its at John Lewis and Smyths and the LEGOLAND Shop. I brought mine last night from John Lewis.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

13/15: better than I expected! I only have five of them in my collection, but apparently I've stared at pictures of the others enough to know most of the answers...

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15. I missed the piece count question, choosing the set that is 3 for piece count

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The baseplate one was hard. I had no idea so I guessed red. Was surprised by the answer.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

9/15, so much questions with an 'oh really' feeling.... was fun to do!

Gravatar
By in United States,

7 out of 15 ... not bad for an old lady who just got started less than a year ago and at least I can make everyone else feel smarter

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

14/15. Great idea for a quiz!

Gravatar
By in United States,

12 / 15 Had to do quite a lot of research but still could not get 100%

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15 Missed the piece count question. Some tough ones and a complete guess on the smiley face question.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Oh, 10/15. That was tough but fun!

Gravatar
By in Slovakia,

14/15 I thought that minifigs without traditional smiling face first appear in Down Town Dinner.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

10/15....but it's Sunday evening.. 'hic'... So not bad...

Gravatar
By in United States,

8/15. I only have 10182 Cafe Corner, and didn't look at the sets, just gave each a few seconds' thought, then guessed.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Crap Result for me... 5/15 there really is no reason to live now lol!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

9/15... not great, but I still think that’s pretty good considering I only have 3 modulars. I like the question about the name of the Parisian Restaurant because interestingly it shares the name of the French restaurant in my college town (or, it did before the restaurant closed permanently). Makes me wish I had that set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

8/15. Wasn’t easy!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

14/15 Smiley face got me, and I'm guessing many will get it wrong. That modular has a special origin, so it doesn't follow the rules. I personally don't consider it part of the let's call it "official" line, so I've never given it as much attention as I do the others.

Gravatar
By in United States,

11/15 How could I forget the fire truck in 10197 Fire Brigade...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With regard to the final question, the quiz does accept about twenty variants of the correct answer but it is possible that others might be entered. Naturally you can award yourself the point if your answer was correct but was formatted differently to the answers I had included.

Congratulations to the eleven people who have achieved full marks thus far, out of just over one thousand who have taken the quiz!

Gravatar
By in United States,

11/15. I think that’s good enough for a... hmmm... let’s say... B-.

Gravatar
By in United States,

11/15. I feel extremely good about that since I was in a dark age for most of the modular run. I came out of the dark age the year Palace Cinema retired, and I haven't seen that one built in person and haven't even seen any of the boxes for sets earlier than that.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

11/15 - I'm happy with that. More quizzes please!

Gravatar
By in United States,

13/15

Though the last question I got wrong because of stupidity, the other was KINDA tricky. The 4-wheeled motorized vehicle one. I chose 5. In Grand Emporium there is a 4-wheeled Scooter/Skateboard type vehicle. These can be electric (motorized). I used to have one. Wasn’t sure if that was supposed to count.

Clearly...it wasn’t. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got 15/15. After having all the modulars (except the Green Grocer as of now- planning to buy!) I know them in and out! It was tough though and I liked this quiz!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank you! It was a fun quiz.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

11/15
And I thought I had everything correct. Was really surprised when I read what I got wrong. Only consolation is that all four are because of sets I haven't got or built yet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Surprised I only got 10 right. I own 11 of them...

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

11/15, not bad. I only own the Downtown Diner and I love it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As someone without any modulars, 11/15 is plenty respectable for me. Although I'm beyond miffed I got Town Hall and Town Plan mixed up!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got 13/15. One was my fault because I forgot to consider the next set. The other was because the answer is wrong, and refers to a LEGO Factory set, not a Creator Expert Modular set.

@Plell:
@Minifig290:
If you count the scooter and the baby carriage, there are two vehicles with four wheels and no motor. I also spotted a scooter with a motor but only two wheels. And there are a few bicycles in the mix, too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15, missed the vehicle count

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

11/15...should have been better, I own nine of them

Gravatar
By in United States,

This week I updated my sets list with 75291, 75200, Buzzy beetle from Super Mario, Martial arts boy, and Drone boy from series 20.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

8/15 great fun guessing ,I've drooled over all the modulars ,never built one and at their price range I'd say I never will ...hoping my SS is reading!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

10/15, which is about 8 more than expected.

(Colour of lamp posts and set not mentioned were the only definites!)

I own all but 3 of the modulars. I really must start building them!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

14/15 pretty happy with that, just had a bit of trouble from the smiley face question

Gravatar
By in United States,

15/15 too easy! Can't wait for the police station!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

14/15, was quite puzzled by the one I got wrong - but I guess there are a lot of smiling Lego faces out there...

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15. I got the smiley face question wrong with an answer of Downtown Diner. Though I actually don't consider Market Street to be an official Modular Building, since it was part of the Factory theme, so I consider myself as having gotten a perfect score.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wondered whether this might come up. Firstly, each person is perfectly welcome to classify the Modular Buildings, or anything else, as they wish for their own collection.

However, there is absolutely no doubt that LEGO considers 10190 Market Street part of the Modular Buildings selection, hence Brickset does as well. Market Street is included in 10230 Mini Modulars, appears in the tenth anniversary video with Jamie Berard, was designed with the Modular Building standards in mind and was marketed as being compatible with 10182 Cafe Corner.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

9/15 Although I am a fan of modular buildings series, I don't own any of them sadly, so considering that, I think I did quite well!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

12/15 for me. Pretty good, considering I only own 4 and have built 2.

Gravatar
By in United States,

13 out of 15 - not bad considering I only own the Parisian Restaurant.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I own over half and only got 9/15 ?? I totally forgot about the police office getting a haircut in the Detectives office, forgot about the market street minifigs(I didn’t even think it came with any), and the corner garage and car trivia.

What other 4-wheeled vehicles are there?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

10 out of 15 despite owning none of them. I was able to cheat on the lamppost question though.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

11/15 ... And luckily I have them all !!! Ahahah

Gravatar
By in United States,

9/15 I'll take it

Gravatar
By in France,

The ones pertaining to Market Street are a bit tougher, as they include things not quite in line with the habits of old modulars. The rest was nice though, and includes interesting tidbits about the modulars!

Gravatar
By in United States,

15/15! Wow... this quiz gave me nostalgia from years past. I own both the Downtown Diner and Corner Garage.

Gravatar
By in United States,

9/15, one of my better performances, sadly. Not bad, considering I’ve never built one of these sets myself, although I do have roughly half of them packed away somewhere. Good quiz, even if question 4 was a dirty trick ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

3/15 wow I thought I knew Lego but obviously I need to have a catch up, OMG can’t believe that oops sorry guys

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15 for me. That ‘smiley faced minifigs’ question got me. I own all the modulars except for the first three, so I suppose that threw me on this question! :-)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Thanks for the fun quiz! I didn't do so good only 8/15. I figured I knew that last answer but couldn't come up with the name.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

12/15. Missed the fire engine! Didn't know the Corner Garage ad. And was interesting to see the answer to the 'trick' question on minifig faces.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

9/15. Terrible! I consider myself to be a modular fan...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

8/15 Can't believe I forgot the colour of the lamp posts...

Gravatar
By in United States,

15/15 on my first try, I guess I really like the modulars more than I thought.
Thanks Brickset for the quiz I can’t wait for more.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

13/15. Darn you Market Street! The only other one I messed up on was Ole Kirk's birth year. I knew both dates were important, just not which was which... Thanks Huw for the fun quiz!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

13/15 Thanks for creating this fun distraction of a quiz!

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

14/15

For how little buying interest I have in Modular Buildings I sure do read up a lot on them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

10/15

coincidentally, the number of modular buildings I own!

Gravatar
By in United States,

5/15. Dang. I actually went back and changed some bc I thought they were wrong, but they were right. The only answer I was sure of was the Chez Albert.

Gravatar
By in United States,

14/15: not bad! I only got wrong the smiley face question.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very proud of my 8/15 considering I only have Parisian Restaurant...!

Thanks! That was fun!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Got 12/15

One I got wrong:
- 2nd largest set: picked town hall ( which used to be the 2nd largest until now)
- sets with vehicle with four wheels. Said 3. Forgot about the tow truck with corner garage
- first set containing minifigs with non-traditional faces: picked downtown diner. I haven’t owed, built or closely looked market street plus I have never I included in my list of modular building. I’d be more inclined to list the MONSTER FIGHTERS Haunted House, GHOSTBUSTERS Firehouse , NINJAGO CITY & NINJAGO CITY DOCKS as part of the modular series

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

13/15, just forgot the vehicle at the Fire Brigade, and I didn't know that Market Street was the first to have non-standard faces.

Gravatar
By in Moldova,

9/15 some of my mistakes were real stupid )

Gravatar
By in France,

11/15 I made stupid mistakes like the white baseplate

Gravatar
By in Poland,

13/15. Question about smiley faces was tricky. I chose 10260 Downtown Diner and I realized too late that I forgot about 10190 Market Street.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Tricky only got 13 - good times!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Nice, got 14/15. :) I also got the smiley question wrong.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

12/15, didn't go with my gut on a couple which let me down.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just had a second go... got 7/15 this time, I Don't usually buy these massive Modular sets but the Quiz was fun:

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

13/15 here, I was completely offguard about the 4th question, also had question 10 wrong. It helped that I had most of the modulars build up so I can look up at them to answer the questions. In the end I had fun doing this trivia challenge and also learned some things from it! Thanks for creating this one!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

10/15 not bad considering most of the ones I got wrong were super nit picky little details.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I got 10/15, suppose it could’ve gone better. Some questions definitely got me by surprise.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I won't publicly state just how badly I flunked the quiz (well, not THAT bad tho) but I really enjoyed it and would love to see more trivia challenges in the future. Congrats, Brickset staff!

"5/15, but I don't mind as I bought x2 501st Packs."

7/15 but I also don't mind as I purchased x1 501st pack.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

My first time getting a perfect score on one of these! 15/15!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

10/15 for me - not bad but could do better!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ggggrrrrrrr! I’m such an idiot! 13/15...the first two wrong. *bangs head on desk repeatedly* Why did I pick black for lampposts?! I even have extra white ones!

And I second guessed myself on second most pieces...I had PS2, but changed to TH...like a dummy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

10/15. I own all the REAL modular sets (and don't consider Market Street to be a real modular set even if Lego does because I have my reasons) but I've only built about half of them so far. I'm catching up on them now that I have space. It's strange to open an old modular box in MINT condition knowing how much it would sell for...but I bought these years ago to BUILD, not sell.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

8/15 terrible as I have all of the, need to study or look at them more after building as they generally sit on display once built. Good quiz though

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

15/15 nice, especially since i only own two of the modulars and the only other info was from memory

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

8/15, not as bad as I expected, could be better.

Gravatar
By in United States,

13/15

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

wow you can tell i dont have any modulars lol..

Gravatar
By in United States,

15/15 - Fun Quiz

Gravatar
By in Canada,

10/15...not bad, only got wrong:
-Second largest piece count (I was waaaaay off)
-Baseplate (but...when did they use red???)
-The garage slogan (which I should have remembered)
-Number of sets w/4-wheeled vehicles (forgot the limo in the cinema set)
-and the restaurant's name...got the write-in though:)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@brick_r:
A red baseplate was used with a red roof. That's one thing I've been paying attention to with Modulars, as I try to get a stack of the oddball baseplates through LUGBulk. The part that threw me off is that I've been able to get all four colors through LUGBulk, so it was hard to eliminate one.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

14/15. Market Street is not one I know well, and didn’t even look at what else was on the list immediately clicking DD...
