By in Netherlands,

Glad I was not tempted to spend too much, or anything actually, on Lego this weekend. Apart from the Tantive, but that was already gone very quickly.

Most disappointing Black Friday weekend offers in a long time.

Definitely.
First time in years that I didn't buy a single item.
Ah well, my wallet at least is happy.

Also telling that the City Main Square for 20,000 VIP points is still not sold out after two days. Says a lot about the popularity of it.

Same here. And to make matters worse for you all I will be walking away with the 1.000.000 VIP points. Hope you all wont mind? ;)

I think the best offer of the whole event is today over at the VIP Rewards Centre

A £20 Voucher for £10 worth of VIP points (1600) and in Ireland that's a 20 euro voucher for 1500 points.

Yeah, you're right indeed. Already sold out however in NL. You also have to spend it within a month though (but that's not really a big issue for most here)

I guess it might be a translation issue. Polish site in English says 30 days, but translation in Polish says 60. So they probably forgot to check all site languages when they extended that period some time ago.

Disappointed with how much is out of of stock, while understandable, it’s embarrassing. Some sets have been out of stalk for months now. Just look at the creator expert page. Very poor range of sets that were on sale, and while the gwp is decent, nothing that is left is worth buying to get it. First Black Friday in years that I’ve not gotten anything

Sometimes I see both 30 days and 60 days appearing during or after then order. So I don't know what to believe.

Yes, got that plus the £5 voucher for half points earlier. So basically the sum win for the weekend is a gift of £12.50 worth of VIP points. A gift not to be complained about, but doesn't quite match the hype of the weekend!

Beatles art also available for 12500 points (equivalent to £78), so almost as good as the Amazon price if you want it for points rather than cash.

By in Puerto Rico,

Most disappointing Black Friday weekend in my home, I managed to snab two 501st Packs (at $30 each plus tax) so that's a positive considering that they were both MIA from LEGO SHOP and never appeared in local stores even if it is winter but I was explained that an AT-AT ($196) and a Grievous Starfigther ($96) (and you thought that they were overpriced in the Shop) didn't qualified for Black Friday offers as the offers were only until Saturday (because who suspected that in a time of pandemic I was visiting stores unless stores expanded the offers for more days).
Edit: oh, the only new SW set that is in stock is the $80 Grievous Starfigther without a discount.

The idea that anything should be a ‘store exclusive’ in these times is downright irresponsible.

By in United States,

FYI - you can stack the VIP point rewards, with one for LEGO.com and one for in-store purchases.

Does anyone know if the Dickens set will still be available after today? I can only see 'while stocks last' but no end date.

No. Only 27th - 30th (in terms and conditions).

I honestly think most fans here don’t even know that it’s based on a TV show. There’s an expectation for city sets that is different than a set from a show, and I’m not convinced they should be one and the same. Lego needs to make them a separate sub-theme, or at least have distinct packaging.

Wanting some nice buildings and cool vehicles to add to an existing collection is very different than buying a set for the familiar scenes and characters from a show that you enjoy.

I'm not saying the show is good. Ninjago is great, but I haven't paid close attention to the City show yet. All I know is that my kids really liked the look of the Main Square set because of the characters. I was surprised, but there you go.

How can this be "sold out"? Out of bits to generate the voucher? Pretty weak.

@familiesand:
Limited quantity offered, maybe. That seems odd, since it's basically the same as Double Points (where there's no limit except what's available to buy), but on the back end. It also has a time limit, so buying the voucher is more wasteful than buying coloring pages if you fail to use it before it expires.

By in United States,

Really, Lego? We're going to "sell out" of the digital gift card? I managed to grab the $5 one a couple days ago--at which point it didn't work. The entire new VIP system is just the worst.

I took a screen grab showing 60 days just in case there's any dispute. I aim to use in January, so 30 days is of no use to me!
