Friends Advent Calendar - Day 7

Posted by ,

Day 7! A week in, and we've had a decided variety of builds so far, from the hamster/pretzel combo of Day 4 to the nice hearth build from the previous day.

We're now in the Santa's workshop phase of the advent calendar, having met an adorable elf yesterday. I would expect as a result that today's build will be something suitably holiday or Santa-like today.

And very holiday-like this is, with a festive arch. Perhaps it's the arch welcoming everyone to the workshop. It has a suitable amount of snow on top, and the wreath with holly berry is quite welcome. I like the addition of two cobblestones on the ground. There's no mistaking that this is holiday themed from the colour of the arch alone with its red and white colour scheme. With the colour of the posts, the brick yellow arch looks a little out of place, though I don't know that another colour would have worked better.

Compared to the other builds that we've had so far, this arch feels absolutely enormous, but I think that's mostly because the scale of many of the builds have been much smaller. Still, a welcome addition to a holiday scene.

We all know purple would have looked better.

Does the Mayor of Heartlake City have any jurisdiction over the North Pole? I believe we need to call in Harl to blow up this treasonous, non-purple archway.

I feel like the Friends advent calendar designers have forgotten that this is an advent calendar, not the latest evolution in minimalism.

The image is loading slowly enough where I’m at that it shows up as a very drab shade of green before the red kicks in.

That looks very similar to a bulid from my Wilkos Blox Calender I got a couple of year back.
