City Advent Calendar - Day 18

Posted by ,

Yesterday we had a small plane as a microbuild. As we round the three-quarters point of our advent calendar, let's see what microbuild is waiting for us behind door 18.

Ah, the one day I regret using blue as a background for these pictures! Today's build is a sports car in medium azur. I remember talking about the part selection in Day 11 for the fire truck; this build uses the two 2x2 Technic double bearing plates in order to attach the wheels.

I'm at a loss as to whether this is associated with a set; perhaps this is just a car to populate the many roads on the Advent calendar place mat.

By in Jordan,

There's a blue sports car coming out next year for Lego City.

I wasn't sure if it was meant to represent the larger vehicle in the Speed Champions Jaguar set 76898. Granted, there's no spoiler on the advent calendar version, but it's the same colour and a somewhat similar shape...if you squint.

Does anyone else find it weird that every road vehicle they’ve included in this calendar has taillights, but none of them has headlights?

It reminds me of a joke I heard years ago where a guy is driving home at night and his headlights fail. He has the bright idea that, even if he can’t see where he’s driving, he can see the taillights of the person driving in front of him, so all he has to do is follow that guy and he’ll be fine. Twenty minutes later, WHAM! He rear-ends the other car. He hops out and asks, “Hey, what’s the big idea just stopping like that?” The other guy replies, “This is my garage.”

By in Poland,

This year's advent calendar sure is underwhelming.

The color isn’t exactly the same, but this build immediately reminded me of the SUV in 60257.

Fun to build in the bag though? More so than what I can see of last year's builds which were much simpler.

It's my first Lego Advent calendar and I'm enjoying it. I don't know how many of the finished builds I'll keep intact but it's been an enjoyable experience for me. I'm inspired to try to build a kind of miniland for my minifigs to visit.

By in Netherlands,

I don't see a car? You just put some wheels and a window in the frame and took a photo.

"The Little Invisible Tesla Cybertruck" - it's got legs, this one. Oscar material.

The color made me think it was a microbuild of the Bugatti Chiron.
