Official images of two new sets to complement the forthcoming 18+ set 10280 Flower Bouquet have been uploaded to LEGO.com.

40460 Roses and 40461 Tulips will be released on 1st January and will cost £11.99 / €12.99 and £8.99 / €9.99 respectively.

The 3l Technic axle joiner has been recoloured in dark green and lime green for the stems while parts that started life as car bonnets form the petals of the roses.

It's cool that they were able to achieve such great-looking flowers without making any new molds.

I really like the idea of these flower accessory sets complementing a bigger set, very clever.

Whats the Australian price? $30? (thats not bad math, us Australians usually get ridiculous prices)

By in United States,

Seeing as when I visit a big-box store and I don't need to do any grocery shopping, I'm typically seen in hardware (albeit, I prefer our small independent hardware store compared to big box), sporting goods, LEGO, or diecast, I'm not great at shopping for "the opposite sex". Many of the women I know are into the same things I am (and in many cases, far better at), but well, most aren't. This would work out great for those who don't appreciate 100 piece socket sets on Valentine's Day. I rarely go to a florist, my jeweler is basically a watch repairman, and even when I walk by Bath and Body Works in the mall, I feel like donning a gas mask.

And decorative items, that once, I decide are no longer needed, yield quite useful LEGO parts. Not those ugly fake flowers that fall apart.

We've got some old vases, mostly from actual flowers people gave my folks as gifts, that else, would end up tossed or donated to a junk shop. As soon as I find these in my local stores, I'm putting them in a vase. This line is brilliant. It allows those of us who are LEGO nuts to be a bit better at gift shopping, and not waste money on flowers that wilt in a week. And at a LOT better prices than the local FTD.

Bouquet battle packs!

By in Canada,

No matter the complaints, this is lego art hands down!

Ooh, the new steering wheel piece from this year's Ecto-1 is recolored in dark green for the roses! It looks like 4 will be included.

Good for giving out after concerts and performances!

By in United States,

These are great for people who want flowers but are allergic to flowers. These don't wilt or need water either!

These are cute. I expect they'll be a big seller in the lead up to Valentine's Day.

Yeah, but ordinary plastic flowers are . . . plastic flowers. And at the risk of offending millions or billions of people worldwide, plastic flowers are . . . kinda tacky. But these! These are LEGO flowers! Which is much cooler, in my book.

I can't wait until 10281 is release. That's the Bonsai Tree. That's definitely a Day 1 buy for me.

LEGO has been suffering from mismatched colors for quite a while now.
I wonder if they are planning to fix it anytime soon.

In the picture with the 3 flowers, look at the part where the stems branch out to the leaves in a T-shape.
It's clearly two different greens.

Oh, yeah, that is pretty well known issue with that lime color. It is really obvious in pretty much every photo of the 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.

By in New Zealand,

That explains the recolour of the pin in the polybag technic helicopter.

By in United States,

There should be a better way to attach the leaves on the tulip stems. Have they looked at a tulip?

Gravatar
By in United States,

These may have been revealed at LEGO.com, but will they be available to purchase at LEGO.com?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want a brick built vase too!

By in Australia,

Ugh, the Australian LEGO.com site is soooooo slow to add things, will probably show up the day of release.

By in United States,

I adore the concept of releasing a smaller accessory set to alongside the big and expensive ones. For people who aren't getting the big one it's a fun build and accessory, while for those with the big one it can really bolster the display

My wife's a florist and just pointed out to me that if roses bend like that, they're either on the way out or are second rate...

Good how Lego is branching out though, moving away from its roots. And not just focusing on stem subjects ;)

By in United Kingdom,

The roses seem a bit expensive for roughly the same number of pieces as the tulips, but guessing that's because they are likely to be more popular as any florist will tell you. Shame the roses in the flower bouquot 10280 were not red, together with bluebells etc. as this would brighten the bouquot up.

You could use the bottle from the 21313 or its re-release and place your flowers in that.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

does anybody really care for these ????

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like these a lot but am not sold on the leaves of the tulip

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is ACPin involved in any of these sets?
He is a talented and prolific builder who has visited the LEGO House and had his LEGO flowers on display there as well.

Well, our Indonesian price usually is 40-50% higher than what the Aussies pay for their LEGO, mate. We pay the highest price for LEGO in Asia-Pacific I think

It's also happening in red! The Ducati has the same problem.

It is happening in all sorts of colors: dark red, white, tan, dark orange, bright light orange, light grey, dark grey,...sigh,...it seems like LEGO cant get any consistancy in their colors...

By in United States,

Maybe it's just the box art playing tricks on me, but these don't seem to be built at the same 'resolution' of the flowers in 10280 -- especially the tulips.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Assuming these are going to sell out immediately because people will buy six at a time.

Not that I'm still bitter about the wreath.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

Two roses? Not sure about other countries, but here, you NEVER gift an even number of flowers - that's reserved for funerals.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I really like those roses. The tulips are ok, but not that enticing to me.

As for colour consistency, that appears to be a problem that affects almost all manufacturers now. Even those that traditionally had great colour consistency, like Cobi for example, now suffer from this. Even stranger as Cobi doesn't manufacture in China, where the colour inconsistencies seemed to start from.
