Great, shame it’s out of stock in the UK, not that that would matter as if you ordered it it wouldn’t be delivered for a few months. I think Lego should have a UK distribution centre

What do you mean it will be a few months for delivery? They have said there a minor delays, not month-long ones..

I was being over dramatic, I know the delays won’t be long. It’s just frustrating and it’s not Lego’s fault or DPDs for that matter.

I'm still waiting for my order placed on the 1st to be dispatched...

By in United States,

If they still had the GWP car, I would have bought the spring festival. Oh well. I did spend lots on Lego recently.

So am I here in Belgium, so it isn't just a UK thing, if that can reassure you a little...

By in Denmark,

Out of stock in denmark as well.

Which i dont get, since it should be released today!!!
How can it be out of stock then?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ It was unexpectedly released on the 1st in Europe, as we advised at the time.

I have one stuck in Belgium and one (ordered first) still in warehouse. I know there are double stacked delays but it's still reassuring to know that it's not just mine :)

By in Canada,

Both sets are already on back order here is Canada. For me, that kind of works as I can order them today , but pay for them later:) I am not going to take a chance and wait for the Year of the Ox GWP. I do hope to get that one, though!
The Story of Nian will ship on Jan 21st. The Spring Lantern Festival will ship in 60 days.

By in United States,

They are showing as backorder in the US already too...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So glad I ordered Spring Lantern Festival when I did on the 1st, instead of gambling waiting on multiple GWPs to kick in... I'll be even more grateful when it arrives though- LEGO is getting me through the lockdown isolation blues!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Same here Huw, ordered 1st Jan, immediately back ordered, due March, so something to look forward to

If DPD have a backlog then they will be working with Lego to resolve, part of that I imagine would be not not ship any more orders until backlog is cleared.

Hello

Long time visitor, first time poster.

Does anyone know if this is likely to go on sale on Amazon? (gift card based query)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Although there are of course no GWP, the Lantern Festival is available at Target in the US.

Gravatar
By in Greenland,

I’m glad I stayed up last night to get the spring lantern festival! It’s already in back order here.

Me to... DPD have stopped European deliveries again until the 13th at least, due to 20% of parcels not meeting new requirements for brexit labeling.

Presumable, as well as Lego's warehouse overload issues, they will stop dispatching until DPD restarts.

Currently I've had 1 delivery, got 2 stuck in Belgium and 2 in warehouse, all from the 1st Jan! (Ironically, the 1 order that has arrived is the Spring Lantern Festival and I love it!)

By in United States,

Went on this morning in the USA at 7 am and this set is on 60 day backorder. I have 15 items on my wishlist and all of those are either on backorder or out of stock. I know LEGO was extremely busy online during the pandemic, but there is nothing to purchase. The GWP is worthless when most items on the website are backordered. Instead of introducing multiple sets at one time and having them backorder almost instantly, lets make the products that have been backordered for months. While I am at it, lets stop the GWP while shopping in store. The USA had close to 300,000 COVID cases in one day last week. I live in Florida and we are averaging 16,000 per day and around 100 deaths each day and LEGO wants me to go to the LEGO store at Disney and purchase LEGO. I don't think so.

Just checked Target, it is sold out.

Ordered from the US last night before it went on back order and my order shows as In Warehouse but I have no confidence it’ll ship anytime soon

By in Netherlands,

We've built 80107 yesterday... and I can say: the hype is real! It is by far the best value set I've come across in years. The build is sometimes quite fiddly (can't understand it is rated 8+) but in the end, it just looks amazing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ordered right at 11 CST before it was back ordered. US is offering the skating rink as GWP for rest of January.

I only got my police station yesterday which I ordered Jan 1.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Backorders accepted, shipping within 60 days. I'm used to this, similar to preordered Transformers toys. I really like that the Shop has linked with PayPal allowing payment in four parts every two weeks, making the wait for delivery a little less painful to my Lego wallet. Also recieved an email from Lego confirming my order, but due to low stock they will not bill me until my order is warehouse processed. So, it's all good here, and I'll likely be building by my birthday in late February.

Hello!

I sincerely don't believe that there will be enough stock of this set to reach a discount. Maybe 80106 . This one is getting extreme demand! Sold out everywhere... =/

They REALLY need to limit 1 per person on release days.

By in France,

I received my Spring Lantern festival on Thursday, just beautiful :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Both on Backorder--which is better than Temporarily Out Of Stock! Now I'll check to see how my Wish list is doing--perhaps some of them are back on backorder again so I can put in an order for them too! (Looks like I'll get plenty of Ice Skating sets after all!)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I grabbed 2 at 12:01 am! I can not wait.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wish Lego wouldn’t use DPD. Their service in my area is awful and I get stressed every time I place a Lego order.
My last order, DPD claimed they delivered using evidence of a rubbish picture taken over my back fence, with no parcel in it and another picture of my front door. I never found the parcel and they didn’t care one little bit.
Lego were absolutely fantastic and sent me a whole replacement order. Hats off to Lego. Shame on DPD.

I am waiting for my Spring Lantern set and will be so happy once it’s safely delivered ??

It’s pretty heavily ”year of the ox"-themed, and two of the minifigs wear 2021-hoodies, so at least not longer than this year. I snagged last year’s chinese set last summer, and I think it was available at lego.se until fairly recently (maybe October or November). It’s not available any longer now though

Probably some time next year or the year after

Given that last year's were sold out by last Christmas I'd say buy them as soon as you can.

Yes, definitely luck of the draw what the local driver is like... fortunately the driver for my patch has been the same for a couple of years and has been good as gold... never leaves a parcel without a picture in an opened doorway.
It's Royal Mail that tend to leave my parcels in the middle of the front garden in the rain!

Yes, I received the Spring Lantern Festival on 6/1. I don't think much has made it out of Belgium since then!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, when I ordered it, it was classified as "Backorder". Eight minutes later I got an email that it's now "Out of Stock". Doubting I'll ever get one now. And I used 100 bucks worth of VIP points. Down the drain, I guess.

@aztecwarrior:
Hah! Nobody can ever tell you a precise date when a set will retire, but educated guesses can be made. Aside from the Brickheadz dragon suit guy (which I think was still available the last time I was at the local LEGO Store), these CNY/CTF sets appear to be available for no more than one year. Probably less. But I wouldn't worry about not being able to buy them _right_now_, as US LEGO.com is listing it as Backordered, shipping within 60 days. They clearly plan to make more. Try to grab a copy before summer hits, just to be sure.

@yuffie:
I'm still waiting on an order I placed on Black Friday, which was shipped via US Post Office because FedEx has been capping shipments because they can't handle the pandemic overload. The last anyone saw of it, it had left our regional sorting facility, and arrived on December 26th at the local post office...in another city about half an hour past mine. It took a month to get there, and if it ends up going back to regional sorting, it might arrive by February, assuming they don't misdirect it again. I got the orders I placed on December 1st (USPS) and January 1st (FedEx) this past Tuesday, within a few hours of each other, and the initial portion of my order from January 2nd (FedEx) this morning. So, the question is, will I get the backordered set from Jan2 before I get the shipment from Black Friday? And will it rain on the day either one of them arrives?

@quark12000:
Carefully read that e-mail message. It's standard practice to send people an OOS notice when they order a backordered set because sometimes the set is not showing backorder status when they add it to their cart. It's still showing Backorder status on LEGO.com, which means they're still accepting orders, and plan to ship within the next two months. That should not be the case if they planned to cut production.

When the Nebulon B Frigate went live, I split my purchase into three orders for one copy (not violating the Limit 3 restriction). Two went to In Warehouse status, and the third triggered an OOS notice even though it was listed as In Stock when I added it to my cart. The message said they had to wait for additional stock to fill my order, but those were convention exclusives that were not getting a second production run. Soon after, I got a cancellation notice for the third order. The status on LEGO.com never hit Backorder, though, instead going straight to Out Of Stock.

If you're still concerned, log in to your account and check status on orders. If it's anything but Cancelled, they still plan to ship your order. If you call LEGO.com, they might be able to shed some additional light on what's going on. If it somehow does end up being cancelled, you can always contact them and see if they'll restore your spent VIP points. I don't know for sure that they will, but I believe this is something they are able to do.

The Chinese New Year sets have only been sold from Lego stores and Lego online directly, not through regular retail channels.

By in Belgium,

Bought two + Nian, made 3 different orders to get Vintage car 3 times on the 1st of January. Everything was delivered last week (the 6th) by DPD. Lantern Festival is an amazing set, its hype is fully deserved.

Regarding UK, I read in the Guardian that Brexit is causing a mess with customs and required paperwork -> https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/jan/08/firms-including-ms-suspend-eu-exports-over-brexit-smallprint

Not sure if it is also the case for parcels coming in.

Sidenote about Brexit : I used to buy my booze on a UK service (Master of Malt). Because of Brexit I no longer can (they stopped delivering in BE because of the custom mess). Also bought an office chair in UK last month and I still have no vision over its delivery. So I guess the mess is real.

I would guess so. When they suspended deliveries on the 30th and 31st it was definitely both ways. Belgium to UK deliveries are certainly stuck in the 'in transit' stage anyway. Of course they might just be stuck in the general chaos at Dover. It will be interesting to see what happens on the 13th when they're aiming on restarting. Still, at least until then we can gaze lovingly at our blue passports.... whoopee do!

It's listed under 'Miscellaneous' so doesn't show up in the Themes dropdown. The only way I've been able to find them is through a direct link (above) or the search bar: just type 80106 in the bar and you'll find it. 60-day backorder though, but at least you can place an order.
