LEGO teases Mediaeval Blacksmith
Posted by Huw,LEGO has posted a short video on social media ahead of the official announcement of 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, which is presumably imminent.
It's a shame, then, that the leak on Amazon.co.uk a fortnight ago rather gave the game away.
You can view the clip after the break.

That’s the face of somebody I’d trust to do my horseshoes.
If we’d see his face...
I so hope it sells well and sparks a new Castle series! Long overdue...
Can’t wait, more Castle sets please :-)
That black falcons knight looks like he is a new minifig, fingers crossed he's in this set!
I won’t say anything at the risk of being sued, but Castle fans are going to be quite happy with an upcoming announcement.

Yes that’s the rumour :-)
Bet it's already on back order....

The new creator castle coming in the summer?...
I wonder if the Black Falcon took a blow to the helmet with a certain recently bent halberd....
Err... @Huw, spell check on the title?
Anyone else getting LEGO Monty Python and the Holy Grail vibes from that video? Just the way the minifigs are set up and the way it was filmed and all.

When I first saw it I thought Castle might be coming back, but then I remembered the upcoming Ideas set
Medieval castle leaked for next summer;)
Will be release within the creator line.

I wondered who'd be first to comment on that, and I would have expected it to be someone less well-educated than your good self, Duq. It's actually a correct spelling of the word, although not not usually used nowadays.

I'm still waiting for someone to ask what a fortnight is :)

I always enjoy giving speeds in furlongs per fortnight. Lesser known/used units are always fun!
Nice teaser, but 150 Euros is way too much, and the tile colors on the roof still suck...

Well done! I didn't think they existed in the USA!

That would be so great! The teaser sure points in that direction with the historical castle set minifigures.
In specific, did anyone notice that the "can somebody please help me" minifig (that falls at the end) has an updated Black Falcon torso? Maybe a Castle re-release after Blacksmith?

Not all of us Americans are stupid Huw, just most of us ;-)
The axe certainly explains why there is a wheelchair in the photo.

Any Tennis fan worth their salt would know that thanks to it being used to describe Wimbledon!

Everyone knows it's a video game.
"Hey man how ya doin?"
"Oh I'm fine just got an axe stickin' out o' me head"
The minifigures have already been leaked along with the set photos. There will be two updated black falcon knights (the one in the video is one of them). There's also a blacksmith, a woman, a wagon and horse, and a husky dog.
You can find the pictures in Instagram, Flickr, and YouTube.
I think anyone looking into this video as anything beyond the blacksmith set is being a little too wishful. I suppose there is always a chance we'll get a castle in the Creator theme like we did with the pirate ship after Barracuda Bay, but an unlicensed castle (or pirates) theme isn't likely to ever happen.
It seems like it will be an 18+ set...
shame they revived the black flacons....makes bulking out my vintage BF army even harder still because everyone will be on the lookout for the vintage ones :/

I have heard that rumor too. Creator Castle Set coming apparently. Bring them on! Love that theme.
Is the Creator Castle coming out in 2021 or 2022? Asking for a friend here
I’m interested to see how the wheelchair element fits in. Can’t wait for the set though.
Really excited for a new medieieiaiavaelle castle set. Its been far too long!

Yes, I hope so, and I also hope it is less than $100. One question, are you the Brickclicker on youtube?
"
I am indeed yes... do you watch my stuff. I'm really looking foward to the Blacksmith
If they actually included a GWP of that entire collection of minifigs, complete with exact duplicates for all of their equipment, I would buy the Blacksmith Shop on Day 1.

https://www.medievalists.net/2018/01/medieval-or-mediaeval/
This gives a good accounting for why it may have switched from the original mediæval to modern medieval, except for a handful of holdouts in the UK who prefer mediaeval.
@Huw:
Just because we don't use fortnights doesn't mean it's hard to figure out from the name what it means. The more likely problem is kids wondering what this has to do with the video game.

Actually, if you really want to stump Americans ask them how much weight is in a stone.....
I'm not sure I know the answer to that! I went metric years ago ;-)

Geologist here. Depends on how big the stone is, of course
@BricksandBoosters a 1960s A-level further maths paper once asked for the answer to be given in those units. Made me chuckle hearing those exact words again!
@Huw said:

I would have expected that answer from someone less well-educated than your good self ;-)
8 pints in a gallon,
10... no, can't use ten,
12 inches in a foot,
14 pounds in a stone.
Of course that's British Imperial pints and gallons, US imperial measures are of course different...

What about Lego goat fans?
If the upcoming castle is $100 set, it probably will be small
Torso and legs for the Black Falcon looks awesome but I HATE the new shoulder pad piece! It looks really weird! I didnt mind the one on the girl knight (which doesnt make sense unless its Joan of Arc). While I like seeing Lego knights cross the ages I do wish there was more of a teaser of the blacksmith, like if we didnt know about the blacksmith you wouldnt know what this was meant to be about.
I love the Freudian slip with the "Mediaeval" misspelling in the title. (Media evil)
:)

In an online discussion about weight loss once, I used stones. Had a number of posters in the US ask why I was using a unit of weight no-one has used in over a century. I had to explain there are literally millions of people today who measure their weight in stones.

I’m not certain, but I don’t think the pauldron is new. It looks like it could be a Ninjago piece.

Okay but why would you use an outdated spelling when "medieval" is perfectly fine and already one that would trip up many people? :P
I hope it's not too modernized. Keeping some of the classic charm intact.
I want it so bad...
I already have two of all the Prince of Persia sets. I don’t NEED a new castle line. I don’t NEED a new castle line. I don’t NEED a new castle line...

I can’t fathom millions of people measuring their weight in stone today. I would be more in league with millions of people measuring time in parsecs, knot that I have anything against stone.
And sorry for the puns, I realize that this would be much more appropriate for Pirates than Castle.
I'm not the most familiar with castle but the last minifig bumbling around with the helmet has a new looking torso, am I completely wrong on this?
Seeing all these old faction interact is heartwarming
@Vladtheb:
And what type of stone it is. Pumice floats. Granite...not so much.
@yacoub:
He's British.

No no no, it's some video game all the kids play. Oh wait..
@Huw:
I realised when I saw lot's of comments on the 'why' of the hype collaboration that LEGO is trying to become an (adult) lifestyle brand. See also the 'adults welcome' in this teaser. Maybe worth an article?
its really great time that this new Lego Blacksmith set maybe begins new Castle themes.
I try this days and make my moc Guarded Inn so i can fit it with the Blacksmith set
If you want to see my attempt check the link bellow on Lego idea.
https://ideas.lego.com/projects/80d1940d-cce6-4e2d-b05d-999eeaea3cf9
The teaser didn't tell us much. Thanks to leaks I can actually get a little excited for the set. It is cool for return of Black Falcons, but I agree it might make the originals harder to find (or prices will shoot up even higher).
Is that Lex Lang voicing the Black Falcon that fell over?
Also seeing the new sword piece mangled in such a way brings me physical pain.
As I can't wait for the 1st of February and I am really in a Castle mood, I just got as a reward on the Lego website a Castle coin :-) By the way @Huw , how come you haven't posted yet an article about these new collector coins?
Those new collector coins are rather telling. They feature a classic space, classic pirate, classic Octane, and classic castle logos. Is LEGO trying to tell us that these four themes will have a resurgence this year? I hope to "wherever minifigs go with they die," that they are.
Cool! They've done Pirates, now they're doing Castle, what does that leave? SPACESHIP!!!
