Store calendar confirms Amelia Earhart GWP for March
Posted by Huw,
The US brand store calendar for March has just been published which confirms that 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute will be a gift with purchase from the 6th to the 14th March on purchases over $100.
Furthermore, the calendar has revealed this cute-looking 40449 Easter Bunny's Carrot House, which will be a GWP with purchases over $60 from the 15th March to the 5th April.
We are expecting a number of cool sets to be released on 1st March, including Monkie Kid, so there should be plenty to buy in order to secure them both.

Looks like the 1`5th March for the Easter Bunny GWP NOT the 5th!
Is that a loony toons set?
Can’t wait for these monkie kid reviews! I’m super excited to see what you guys make of them! Also, @huw, what do you think of the season 15 ninjago set that was revealed?

It hasn't been revealed, only leaked, so we can't comment.
Wonder why the Earhart promo doesn't start on March 1? Nice that the Easter sets go into the first week of April though!
Gonna get myself a birthday present AND a GWP on the first day of this March offer! :)
Hopefully the double VIP points promo will be in March too.
Well, I was going to get another Sith art this weekend, but I guess I can hold off a few weeks to hit that sweet GWP.

Enough people will buy the new sets without the need for the freebies.
Get those who aren't as desperate to buy the sets reeled in with the freebies after.
Aaaannnnndddd they’re sold out!
Sorry thought I’d say it now for when it happens!
Thank you for the update. I'll be looking to get both with a hat tip to Brickset for the information.
So are we thinking the Amelia Earhart set will be available late on the 5th UK time?
(Not bitter at all)
I'm just hoping they learn from previous events and actually produce enough of them this time to last more than an hour.....
Oh look a flying pig!
Is that GWP strictly a US thing?

If it's not on the calendar, could it still happen?
Wow, first time I plan on making a big order, and the gwps aren't available till later.
Why not March first? Whyyyyy.
Honestly the Amelia Earhart set looks pretty substantial for a $100 threshold GWP, it even comes with minifig, decently sized plane and a nice black stand.

Yes- last March there was a double VIP points event for 8 or 9 days at the end of the month that was not mentioned on the calendar (in the US at least)
March 8th being International Women's day may have something to do with the release date.
I think the Universe is telling me to buy Blacksmith between March 6th and 14th!
Hello everyone!
The promo of set 40450 will only be available for US/CA markets?
Thank you in advance!
No Mar10?
Ice rink threshold was to high

I already have the sets for the Amelia set but I'll have to see if I buy that Monkey Kid Mountain from the 5th and onward....
Okay, at first glance, at first glance... That carrot house looked like the Spongebob pineapple house. Just saying! :)
Is it only me to have more interest on a carrot house?
so is the carrot house 60 or 80 with purchase?...2 other sites show it as 80 on the calendar(like on toys and bricks)..very confusing
the Easter chick shows 55.00 and the plane 130.00

They will be available in Europe as well.
I want the carrot house. And I wanted the 50s car. And I like Amelia's plane. Why can't I just buy it for a tenner? These should be free GWP if you spend X amount OR just buy it.
How many real people (not fictional characters played by real actors) have been made in minifig form? I can think of Abe Lincoln and Shakespeare from the Lego Movie sets, Steven Spielberg from the Studios set, the Hayabusa satellite guy, and now Amelia Earheart, but I think I'm missing some.

Because Lego make much more money on sets sold directly to consumers than to retailers. This is Lego's way to trying to get people to buy direct without undercutting retailers.
Lego want people to buy their stuff direct, not buy everything from retailers and just buy these for £10

Hopefully the Bonsai and Flowers will be back in stock by then.

Mae Jemison, Margaret Hamilton, Nancy G. Roman, and Sally Ride from 21313. Plus John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr from 21306 (technically these four are based on movie cartoon characters, who are based on real people).
Hayabusa guy was J. Kawaguchi.
I'm sure there must be more. Some sports stars?

Nba Collectors series sets, that one soccer 02' set that had Zidane in it, there could be more I'm missing.
I hope I'm not the only person who had no idea her plane was red. I've read a bit about her over the years but I now realize that I've only ever seen black and white photos of her and her planes. Does every biography of her mention the red plane and I'm just less informed than I thought I was?

So you missed out on the Porsche GWP too?
If you are in Australia, the LEGO Certified Stores are running the Amelia Earhart set as a GWP as of today.

The GWPs that aren't attached to a specific set (like the Porsche) seem to still be midnight. A lot of people ordered the Police Station at 23:00, but didn't get the Vintage Car GWP because it didn't go live until midnight.
(Worth checking 23:00 - 00:00 though... just in case!)
So is it for purchases over £70 in the UK?
