18:59 - out of stock...

I backordered 40464 a few weeks ago. Got an e-mail yesterday that my backorder was going to be extended into July...but the set is now showing up as available without any backorder on the site. ...but my order is still backordered. *sigh* WTF? Makes no sense.

I was able to backorder the 80107 Spring Lantern Festival around noon EDT. ...which, I'm fine with. At least my backorder is in. Previously it wasn't even available to backorder and was just "temporarily out of stock".

Got a notification right at 6am this morning, and just in time for me to be on my computer for work! Wasn't looking to spend money on this set right now (just purchased 21325 a few days ago), but with the double promo offer I couldn't pass it up.

Already on backorder in the US, 12:20 PST

Still waiting for the UCS MF.

Ordered on backorder... they estimate 60 days. Often I find that it comes sooner though, so we'll have to see!

Glad I checked my email early this morning and snagged one... already on 60 day back order this afternoon.

Was really hoping that it would be available in UK.

Got both of the CNY sets within the last 12 hours. Whew though I’d have to hit eBay this year like the first year. I’m a happy man today!

I checked a while ago and saw it was backordered. I guess that is a step in the right direction.

With all of these new sets, I'll sit and wait. I have such a backlog, I can't justify more sets to sit in boxes.

It was available in europe for quite some days at the beginning of the month actually! managed to get it with the Earhart GWP :)
I was just refreshing the page every day to check before that ;)

It has been back in stock in Europe a couple of times, including when the Amelia Earhart promotion started. But it does sell out again very quickly. I ordered mine on backorder but it arrived only a day after the GWPs and tulips I ordered together with the Spring Lantern festival.

I used the in stock notification on this and after a couple of unsuccessful attempts, where the in stock message arrived at 2 am and by the time I woke up the set had gone out of stock again, I managed to get one and it arrived in here in the UK at the end of February. I’m hoping we’ll be allowed to do Lego after the after school club soon so that the kids can build it, It is such a lovely set and it provides so many talking points as the kids build.

Back ordered for 60 days but at least it is now ordered and getting the two promos! I had checked before placing my order yesterday & it was still temp out. Thanks for the notice.

European sales (at least in GB) currently generate 3 GWPs as not only is the 40449 Easter Bunny's Carrot House and 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute added to the basket but so is a VIDIYO Sticker Sheet 5006771 .

Was able to get it on “back order”. With the 2 GWP was hard not to get something, and this looks like a great set to help fill out the Ninjago village layout I want to do with my son.

I've had it on stock notification for weeks bit up to now not gotten a message unfortunately. Had hoped to get it for the Amelia Earhart GWP but had to go with the Porsche instead, which I didn't even want to get that early. Even more annoying that right now I could buy it and get both current GWPs.

Its amazing how massive the experience varies with lego.com I happened to check on March 2nd or 3rd and the Spring Festival was there, so I ordered one and it arrived a few days later with the Free picture frame. I then deleted it from my wish list so didnt realise it was OOS so soon after.

A little off topic, sorry: Does anyone have any news on when/if Assembly Square will be available again in the UK?

Received back in stock notification while busy as heck at work yesterday. By the time I had a few minutes to order it was on Backorder w/expected ship date of March 28th. Glad I was able to grab it then though (and get a 2nd 40450 as well as the adorable 40449) before it went on 60 day Backorder. Now hoping to get it within a couple weeks, rather than a couple months. Hey, maybe this copy of 40450 won't have a smashed box, crumpled sticker sheet, and major scratches on the main fuselage pieces. Maybe I can even combine both copies and make something big enough for her to sit in!

Glad for you if you’ll receive it twice. In February I made an order and the 40416 Ice Rink was added to the cart. However, one day later it was cancelled and in the e-mail I received from LEGO it stated that the reason for that would be that I got this GWP already once (which was in December when 40416 was available as GWP for the first time).
The same happened now again, as I did not receive 40450 because it was already in the order from one week ago.
So I Wonder how you all manage to get multiples of the same GWP. :-)

If only the sidewalk was compatible with the Modulars.

I managed to get both of these on backorder when I realized that they were available again (and eligible for the GWPs that I foolishly missed out on earlier in the month due to making my store visit a few days before the eligibility period started). Looking forward to them! They should go well with last year's sets, and with my growing Monkie Kid collection.

Huh? It is compatible, albeit fairly thin compared to your typical modular.

I like this set, but I'm not sure I $120-like it. For sure I don't $120-and-60-days-like it. I really want some of the parts for a MOC I've got in mind, but I'm not sure I really need the set as well. So, when I saw that it was back on sale, I was seriously debating whether I should just go ahead and buy it. And when I saw that it was already backordered, I figured I could just deal with that question at a later day. I have a feeling this is going to end up like the Fantasy Chess, where I really like the look of the model, but ultimately have other priorities that take precedence.

When this came back in stock a day after my birthday in the UK, I tried to order it and had my order denied because I had ordered it in January. However lego cancelled the January order because they could not fulfill it, despite claiming backorder for weeks and listing it as in warehouse for 2 days before cancelling it, assuring me that when it came back in stock, I would be able to order it.

Nope. My March order was cancelled, without any explanation. I had to phone up to find out that if the order is going to the same address, it will be cancelled, irrespective of whether you actually received the original order or not.

And they held the money for this cancelled order for over a week.

Fortunately, due to the odd way paypal list my address, I was able to order it that way, although I still expected it to be cancelled, as I made the order as guest, worried if I logged in it would be cancelled and had no way of checking.

I was amazed when it turned up.

The availability of this set has been a complete joke.
I don't know what the hell is LEGO doing, but by now they should have realised there's more demand than they're producing and that an increase in production was required...

It still surprises me that there are people that can't understand why stock is limited. We've been at this for a year.

Bought this to get the double gifts. Do the free gifts ship separately ahead of time or do they all ship with the Lantern Festival down the line?

It depends on your total order. If part of your actual order is available to ship now, any GWPs will ship at the same time. If your entire purchase is backordered, the GWPs will ship with the first thing that's ready to box up. So, if you want something _NOW_, an easy trick is to just add something to your order that will trigger an immediate shipment.
