LEGO VIPs can now avail themselves with 76178 Daily Bugle at LEGO.com. The 3,772 piece set contains no fewer than 25 minifigs and costs €299.99 / £274,99 / $299,99 / AU$499.99 / CA$399.99.

We're a bit behind on publishing our review due to the sheer number of set announcements recently, but we'll try to have it prepared for the weekend.

Looking forward to the review! Can’t wait to build this set.

By in Norway,

Again they failed their own launching hour 01:00 CEST. I was awake till 02:45 with no luck until I got up from bed again 06:50.

Djis Lego, how hard can it be? And why in the middle of the night…?!

Ordered by express, so expecting it to arrive tomorrow <3

Can’t wait for the review tho!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Weird how in Australia I was able to order it 10 hours before launch?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oedered with no drama in the USA at this unholy hour. Cannot wait to receive it soon.

Same here in Switzerland! Firstly, I thought midnight local time, but actually, they now put online midnight UK time so 1 am local time. Push myself to stay up but it did not allow to add to basket (even though showed on the front page available!). Went to bed sleep-deprived (for no reason) and woke up at 6:30 am and managed to place my order.....not sure what happened to website!

By in United States,

I think I'm going to wait on this one, until there is a double VIP points event. There has been a giant sucking sound out of my LEGO account lately.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Waited until 1am but I guess they were having some site issues, happily grabbed one as soon as I woke up this morning instead. Been wanting one since the rumours first started to surface, can't wait to finally get my hands on it!

I think the next question is which other Marvel NYC locations do I need to try and attempt in a similar scale - surely the Daily Bugle needs company? Baxter Building, Gem Theater, Oscorp...though I'm holding out hope Lego might release more Marvel buildings in the future, a la Ninjago City Gardens/Docks.

By in United Kingdom,

My first ever D2C order from Lego.com. As said above, they seemed to miss their own advertised on sale time but was able to order it this morning, so happy days

By in Austria,

I'd really like to see it next to the Modulars. I don't think it will be a fit but you never know.

Gravatar
By in United States,

“A bit behind”

I’d gladly take the daily bugle off your hands and display...er...review it ;)

I believe Ashnflash on YouTube has posted a video with it next to the new police station and the Ninjago City Gardens. I did see an image floating around of it compared to Assembly Square and the Bookshop but can't remember where, I'm afraid.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Their launch went well in Canada, it even started a few minutes early. Was able to get one without issues.

And yes there is a picture floating around where it was put between certain modulars: https://www.stonewars.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/lego-marvel-76178-daily-bugle-modular-buildings-2.jpg

I think it looks great and will really make the modular line pop up with the taller downtown towers. There are probably better fits than putting it against Assembly Square, as those buildings are specifically made to be next to others, whereas the Daily Bugle has an alley. But right next to the new Police Station it looks fantastic! And the paper stands make them feel like a match!

I mean, Australia is built on chaos, right?

By in United States,

I was able to order before launch by about 15 min in the USA and I cant wait to build this beast

No problem ordering 2 Daily Bugles at 11:00PM CST here in the Midwest, USA.

Honestly I just want to see pictures of the supposed non combat building to go along with the Modulars.

By in United States,

Was super tired last night and lost track of what day it was. Woke up this morning in a panic but was able to get it at 745am in the US. Was this sold out in any region because based on the comments it seemed like smooth sailing for most.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Waited until I woke up this morning to buy. Good thing because I got a good night’s sleep and it was still available.

What's the plan for the second one? Saving for an investment, or got a MOC planned?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This set hit me right in the nostalgia feels the second it was released! I am now a proud owner!

YT is full of such comparisons. Most people like the combination

I'm not into superheros, but this set looks amazing!!!

By in United States,

Thank you for a smooth launch lego! Also mine already shipped!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll be buying one for the skyscraper alone (to de-Marvel-ify), but I'll wait for 2 x VIP or a decent GWP. I'd be curious to see what it looks like next to the Detective's Office and Brick Bank which have more of a North American feel than some of the other modulars.

I second that - nice launch LEGO! Mine, too, has shipped.

Don’t know if the folks at LEGO will read this, but next time you work up one of these $300-and-up sets for Marvel or DC, it’d be great to have an exclusive GWP to go with it - a small add-on for the set and/or an additional fig or two would be most welcome. I’d even go so far as to say I’d be happy to have the opportunity to purchase a larger add-on that you can only purchase with the main set.

That Bricklink article got redacted PDQ!

An official recall of that article would be helpful, doesn't seem like a great idea to kick the hornet's nest and run away

A (level-minded) discussion of the possibility of people getting banned wouldn't be uncalled for, but a lot of people went for the throat very quickly with no context and it would be a good idea to let everyone know that it's confirmed to not be true

I plan on color swapping the "brick yellow" (?) facade of 10278 Police Station out for grey, and maybe adding an additional level to the main building, in order to make that set more complementary to the Daily Bugle.

Give it time, if they removed an article then they probably had a good reason. I’ll give them a chance to follow up later. :)

If they included Firestar, they should have also included Iceman.

It's not for me. It's looks all out of proportion.

Cannot wait to get and build this set. :o)

With regards to the other story, it appears to have been pulled once the originating complaints started to unravel. Sometimes just trash canning something is the most expedient, responsible thing to do.

Yes, but it’s also responsible to acknowledge that it’s been canned, rather than burying it

What’s this stuff about a redacted article? Is it related to the Bugle?

Not related to the set at all :).
Some people invented a story, brickset reported on it until it was clear it was false, then deleted it

Okay, so the article was covering what fake story?

Now I’m curious; I’m guessing it was a contentious topic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Back on topic:

On the North American LEGO store website, the set is sold out/temporarily unavailable.

Maybe that will motivate LEGO to make more big Marvel and DC comic book-based sets.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Out of stock in Canada too. I am surprised. Not enough sets in North America or people really like it?

People being banned from buying from lego.com because they sold sets on bricklink.
Turned out to be tosh

I was in our local LEGO store yesterday, hoping to see the Bugle in the brick, but they hadn't built a display copy, yet, because the store only received 26 copies of the set, and they sold 24 of them in the first half of the day. I was tempted to go home with number 25, but I'm hoping that maybe a copy finds its way to me for Fathers' Day next week . . . . Is my family reading this?

Just FYI - I had checked the Canadian and Mexican sites before saying ‘North America’ so I did my research!

I’m going with people really liking it.

By in United States,

I ordered the Daily Bugle at midnight with free shipping and I already received it today! That was incredibly fast shipping! Glad that I didn't pay extra for express shipping. I've never had a set arrive so quickly from LEGO.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Not surprised that it sold so quick, it's a brilliant set. I'll definitely pick it up, but I'll try to hold out for a VIP weekend or GWP or something. Can't wait to get my grubby man-child hands on it though!

That was a speedy delivery (who’s old enough to get that one).

I too ordered at midnight and it’s scheduled to come tomorrow. Either you live closer to Romeoville, IL than I (assuming all US orders are shipped out of that location) or the fact that I also ordered 76176 , 76177 , 76198 , and 76180 slowed fulfillment.

Now I’m caught up on this year’s Super Heroes sets (released so far). I used VIP points to knock $100 off the total, so at $350 it wasn’t bad. Though I do wish 76178 had been released with 2X VIP points.

I’d have bought it, had them wrap it at the store, then gave it to my wife and told her to give it to me for Fathers’ Day.

I realize I should’ve specifically said North American websites - plural - not website - singular, or region to cover all three. My mistake.
