By in Switzerland,

What about the “swing ship ride”. According to the calendar it should be a gwp from today but nothing.

I see it now, thanks. I have to say this is by far the worst calendar design I’ve ever seen. :D

By in United Kingdom,

Gonna be honest here. That is the single ugliest car LEGO has ever produced. It looks like it was designed by 8 year old me. I know it's a polybag but...

By in United Kingdom,

My local Tesco Express sells this for like £4. Not sure it would incentivise me to spend over £40...

Thank you, now to decide if I want to wait for that one or the ones now in stock.

The previous speed champions Lambo polybag has entered the chat.

By in Canada,

Reminds me of the tiny turbos racer theme!

By in United States,

This is a weird GWP to me. Target and Walmart have had these for quite a while now…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very underwhelming from a GWP perspective. Plus no more orders from Lego.com until they ship my May 1st order.

Wow. Just, wow!

By in United States,

For what its worth, this little polybag is, at the moment, the most economical way to get ahold of those 1x2 plates with an axle pin for this type of wheel. It seems like such a simple part, but it's actually in shockingly few sets, and most of the ones it's in are rather big - and rarely are there 4 of them.

Man that is bad, what did you buy out of curiosity?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Available at Walmart for less than $5. No need to overpay for sets at LEGO LEGO.com that are 20% off elsewhere.

If I was McLaren corporate... I'd be distressed

By in United States,

This is a pretty solid small scale rendition of the McLaren Elva. It looks odd, because the car itself looks odd since it has no windscreen--the idea is the aero of the car makes it not necessary. The model itself is actually surprisingly very durable would fit in well with any Hot Wheels car for play-ability (just, uh, don't get TOO rough with it...it is still Lego, after all)

My 6 year old got it in his stocking this past Christmas and insists it's the Batmobile.

@Gyra:
Bricks & Pieces might be a more economical way to get them, depending on how many you order. It was created for Dimensions, which allowed them more versatility when making the alternate models. That part is the only reason they were able to make the hover variant of the BttF DeLorean.

@OptimShi:
Not in the US! In the US, it looks...nondescript. Cars without windshields are illegal here, so in order to sell it in the US, they've produced a limited variant that has a windshield. It looks like just about every other contemporary supercar, except blue.

@CDM:
Not since Superfriends has Batman driven a primary blue Batmobile. At least not that I can recall.

@PurpleDave:

Cars without windshields are legal in the US so long as you wear eye protection, or a helmet. But... since it's a supercar that only has a limited production run, most owners won't drive their Elvas or Aston V12 Speedsters or similar cars very much. The law was primarily written with Jeeps and other folding-windshield cars in mind.

@focusfan:
I dug into it a bit more, and the issue is that 19 states have windshield laws. This came from a quote McLaren gave to Autoweek. These laws may have also been written with Jeeps in mind, as driving with the windshield folded down pretty much means you're toast in a roll-over accident, and it may give you at least a hint of protection before you Mansfield yourself. It would also protect you from road hazards that a puff of air isn't going to shove over your head, like chunks of concrete.

It sounds like this is optional, so it may be available to anyone who asks, wherever they live, and you may be able to order the standard version for delivery to the US (you just can't drive it everywhere).

The air system that serves in lieu of a windshield is removed, and a windshield with a weird looking carbon-fiber frame is equipped instead. It adds 44 pounds to the car's weight, but it's heated and includes automatic wipers (because you need to keep the windshield clear of rain and ice when you're driving around in an open-top roadster). Still no roof or side/rear windows.

By in Norway,

I assume this set is only available to a few selected countries?

By in Australia,

Yet again, we get absolutely screwed by LEGO in Australia - the Elva is free only with purchases of A$109!.... equivalent to around US$84!
How does TLG justify that?!?
Combined with the precious little stock of any decent new set, the significant price mark-ups on all LEGO here (it’s cute when Americans or Brits complain about LEGO prices!), and the ‘NO sales EVER’ in the official LEGO stores here, we definitely get the short end of the stick here from TLG!
First world problems, I know .... and very blessed to be in an almost Covid-free, democratic country with very low unemployment & universal free healthcare!

By in Portugal,

Seriously, it's already over? Wow...

Is there a calendar that shows what lego.com.au will be offering? It always seems like as well as what you say there are just less offers/free gifts.

Rumor has it, somewhere behind a pay wall...

Gravatar
By in United States,

it's amazing how much detail those small slope pieces let them pack in, even at tiny-turbo scale.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

I tried to place an order today, but the 30343 was not added to my bag.
Is this offer only available in UK and EU?
