Wait, do I have this right? They give you the parts to make two identical bodies in different colors...and then put STAMP on both? It doesn’t look as bad on the yellow body, but look right in front of the rear wheel well on both bodies. There’s a 45° inverted slope, and there’s a sticker covering the top edge on both versions.

By in United States,

So I just looked through the digital instructions, and uh, why not include the parts to make both cars at the same time? It's not even a simple switch where you remove a couple pins and axles and add the different colored body, you have to rip the whole thing apart to add the other color piece by piece. Thanks for the option for what I want to build, but now I have a ton of pieces left over that can't be a whole car.

@MCLegoboy:
Can you remove the body without damaging the STAMP stickers?

I must be the luckiest guy in the entire world to happen to have two of these sets so I could make both colors of cars with tons of extra pieces to spare. It really was luck because I got one set as from someone for a special occasion, and then I got another set as a Christmas present from a completely different person who didn't know I already had one.

There are a ton of stickers, as well as individual stickers covering multiple pieces, and after a decade they started to peel away. These sets haven't aged well over time, and I've already disassembled both cars to make MOCs, but at the time when I had these sets I was somehow quite happy.

I was lucky enough to score 99% of this set with the box instructions, some stickers applied, some still on the sheet for $9.99 at a thrift store. I got the few missing pieces. I want to make a want list to get the parts to make both cars...I just haven't taken the time yet.

@Agent00Z:
Ah, so apparently you _can_ swap bodies without damaging the STAMP stickers.

By in Turkey,

I'm not comfortable with the sticker situation but both models still look good to me. I don't know if it's a racecar thing about the doors not openning but it would have been nice to have that, too.

By in Croatia,

This is quite a unique set! Personally, I quite like the idea of being able to have the same car but with two options for colors, that is something we don't see very often nowdays.
Imagine how would it be like if the modern large System Cars such as the Ford Mustang or Porche had this option, that would be pretty interesting, and would make the model more modular instead of just building one thing, displaying it, and never touching it again.

Sounds like the name of the next Elon musk child...

Now does this sound like a boy or a girl...?

The scale is ideal, larger than Speed Champions allows more detail but smaller than creator expert keeps the cost down. The only sets at roughly this scale seem to be the Technic Mclaren etc.
Is this the only set which has two different body colour options within the same set? Seems a little strange given most people would go for the red colour anyway, so there would be lots of spares left over which would never be used for anything?

That Shell logo hurts a bit.

By in Poland,

I was trying to find the first bag with chassis on the internet so that I could make two cars at once.

@ambr:
There’s an indoor RC car base that came with two body options, but it wasn’t available in North America. There was a smaller set with just a yellow body which was more widely available, that I, and at least a few others, used to MOC an RC RC back when Toy Story 3 sets came out.

When I saw the name of the set but before the image loaded, I was expecting a Speed Champions set. And now I want a yellow Ferrari in the SC line.

The way they did the windshield reminds me of the BttF DeLorean, but bigger.

Had these until recently - bought spare parts to build a second chassis so I could display them both. Sold them about a month ago as they aren’t really that exciting

By in Netherlands,

When seeing the picture, my first thought was that the set included two full cars - one red, one yellow - which I thought was a strange move for LEGO.

Not sure 1,5 car in a set is a better option, though...

Well, maybe it's not the best representation of an F430, but I would love to have one of these someday. *proceeds to check Bricklink*

5600 : Radio Control Racer came with 5 options for the same RC Car.

The concept was pretty good even though the bumper/builds were fragile.

The spoiler was a big sticker but the rest of the leopard parts were pretty cool prints, also various chromed bars/lamp type of pieces.

I have an old catalog with this set in it. It was always a set I wanted.

Only ever built the red version. And now I'm thinking I should go get the FXX out too!

@TeriXeri:
That’s more a general 5-in-1 design, because some parts will be shared by 2-5 bodies, meaning you can’t build all five bodies at the same time. This has the parts for a red body, the parts for a yellow body, and the parts for a single chassis that either body can be mounted on, but either way you end up with an entire spare body (which is a good thing, because all the STAMP means you’d need to supplement the set with parts for the second sticker set, otherwise).

The RC pack I mentioned earlier is 8184, which has two entirely separate bodies that can be swapped onto the electric chassis. The other one I mentioned that got used for RC RC MOCs is 8183, which only has one body (but we were all buying it for the RC components, so cheaper was better).

One other swappable body set, which veers into very different territory, is 75253, which has one electric chassis and three droid bodies that can all be built simultaneously and swapped with minimal effort.
