Sorry for the downtime today

Posted by ,

There's some planned maintenance going on at the data centre where the Brickset server is located today which has resulted in some downtime.

I am told that it should all be completed in a couple of hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Must be Disney's fault

I already thought the new UCS set would be that popular to get Brickset to slow down.

Here's to a quick update, and a little rest for my F5 finger! Happy Friday, folks!

If they knew this was going to be happening, it seems like they could have thrown a redirect to a “scheduled maintenance” notice, so your readers wouldn’t be wondering if it was an equipment failure, or unexpected server demand due to a certain article, or interference from low-flying UFOs.

I blame rogue governments or those lizard people at Winsor Castle or Disney or the carzy flat earthers or just about anyone really.

Maintenance needs to happen. You still have way better uptime than Shop-at-home.

@Robot99:
I knew it wasn’t just me because every time the site would go down (I think it happened 3-4 times to me), I’d get a page from Cloudflare saying my connection was fine, and their system was fine, and then it would cheerfully throw Brickset under the bus. It just couldn’t explain _why_ Brickset wasn't working at the moment.

No, it wasn’t just you. The other 98 robots were affected too. ;~P

The site is still on and off, and when it's on the loading speed for images, parts lists etc is very slow. Hope it's all done soon!
