The Idea Brick on Kickstarter
Posted by Huw,There's an interesting project on Kickstarter that its creators have made me aware of:
The Idea Brick is a fun card game designed to accompany interlocking plastic bricks that encourages creativity, problem-solving and mental agility for all ages.
It's easy to pick up and play - all you need is a pile of interlocking plastic bricks to hand, and a timer (just use your phone). Each round can take between 5 and 15 minutes, and there are no wrong answers. It's fun for kids, families, or competitive friends and helps foster imagination and tactile play. It can also be played in schools, or an office environment as an icebreaker activity, or to help structure an engaging, design-led workshop.
Find out more and pledge your support on Kickstarter: the project has just a few days to run and its funding target has almost been met.

It looks very similar to 3844-1 Creationary. There are some differences, but it makes me wonder if LEGO is seeing this Kickstarter project.

Also vey similar to the Creationary card deck available as a VIP reward at the moment
It's also pretty expensive. The game may be nice.
Nice touch turning all the pieces upside down so we can't see any LEGO logos in the picture, haha
A good way to engage kids again with building Lego if long abandoned for other interests, but like the ideas book, unless you already have a fantastic inventory you would probably need one of the larger basic creator sets like 10717 to have a fair chance of competing the challenges.
Idk about Kickstarter but hey it looks cool.

I was excited when I saw Creationary in there, but then saw it was "cards only". I liked the package and pre-selected assortment of pieces in Creationary. I wish I had picked it up when I had opportunity.
Sounds fun, just backed this project
This is interesting, but weird.
Happy to back this excellent idea... will fit in well with my LEGO Creationary set.
I got Creationary with all the bricks for $10. Alright, so it doesn’t have disruption cards and I assume NZ$ makes it a bit more affordable so long as shipping to the US is free. But Creationary doesn’t dance around the word Lego and is easy enough to find on Facebook marketplace for a steal.
I did consider getting the VIP Creationary pack, but I’m not sure if it is different cards than what are included in the original set, and 1000 points sounded pretty steep.
Looks okay, but could very easily have been an app, 94 cards doesn't scream longevity to me.
I might have been tempted by a print-at-home version for a few quid, I'm happy to pay for good ideas, but not sure I need more physical stuff in my life (I make an exception for interlocking plastic bricks).
I haven't got any interlocking plastic bricks, I only have official LEGO...can I still play the game ;)
They are using knockoffs
