Surprisingly, 77942 Fiat 500 is still in stock both at Zavvi and LEGO.com.
If you are in the UK you can purchase a maximum of one from LEGO.com, or three from Zavvi.
If you're outside of the UK the only place you can obtain it is at Zavvi, who will ship it internationally at very a reasonable rate.
So, buy now at Zavvi (UK) or Zavvi (US) while stocks continue to last!
Update 6th September: The initial batch has sold out at Zavvi, but they are taking pre-orders for a second batch, for delivery in November. It's still available at LEGO.com.

Losts of people seem to have had horror stories with Zavvi. I ordered a set last Saturday though and it arrived on Tuesday so that was pretty quick when you consider the bank holiday.
I considered getting it because of the limited edition, but thought better of it. I prefer lego being just fun toys rather than collectibles.
If I had the yellow one, I might’ve gotten this one since they’d probably look really cute together

I ordered on September 1st, and yesterday Zavvi sent that it was shipped (DPD) and will likely arrive 6-8 September.

I ordered mine on the 1st and it was dispatched on the same day with a tracking number. Last update was on the 4th in the FedEx cross border process centre. Estimated to arrive Wed 15 Sep - Fri 17 Sep.

I pre-ordered the Luigi starter kit back in April from Zavvi. It was supposed to arrive by August 1st. Guess what? It's still not dispatched. Their most recent update is that it will arrive by October 1st. They have me a $5 "good faith" refund for the delay. ?????

Made an order late Tuesday (so early Wednesday morning in the UK). Still sitting at "Order Placed" with a dispatch date of 06/09/21 and my CC still hasn't been charged.
Hope they haven't oversold the set.
I just placed an order. With shipping to Canada it came out to the same price as the yellow Fiat before taxes. Then I realized I'll probably have to pay duty so if it arrives it will likely end up costing $10 more than the yellow one after taxes.
Is there a reason this blue was chosen? Or just wanted to make new pieces in blue like they did with the pale yellow?
If I didn't have the yellow one, I may consider this. But I'm not a Fiat lover, so having two makes no sense to me.
Is it a surprise they are still available?

Checked this morning and Zavvi US is sold out.
I placed my order Sept. 1st, it was dispatched on Sept. 2nd and FedEx says it will arrive Sept. 10th-17th.
So glad I did wait on this one.
My copy of the hydro bounty took two weeks to be delivered. Thanks zavvi
I ordered my Fiat yesterday so I am glad I did not wait any longer.
It's no longer showing up on Zavvi UK
I ordered 4 on the first. My credit card has been charged and
it says it will be dispatched on the 9th.

Same here.
I got it because it was designed by one of the very few French Canadian designer working at LEGO (Pierre Normandin). Misplaced nationalism, I guess.
There it goes! I'm getting "no longer in stock" from the Zavvi site. Thanfully I ordered when it came out and it just shipped.
Sold out for Ireland as well on Zavvi.

I always see comments about not wanting to order from Zavvi as well. I've bought several lego sets from them in the past, plus a few lightsabers. Most recently was last week with three of the Marvel busts and a board game. All of them arrived with no problems and in great packaging.

From the article on Newelementary, the Creator Expert design team already had the color blue under strong consideration during the initial design of the Fiat before eventually deciding on yellow, so to them it was a no-brainer to choose this set along with this color for LEGO's recolor pilot project.
It's sold out now at Zavvi UK & US.

Ordered mine at 12.55 on Wednesday morning, dispatched on Thursday, delivered Saturday.

A little worried myself I ordered about an hour after the product launched and it still says "Awaiting Shipment" and an estimated dispatch date of 09/01/2021. I'm hoping that I still get my order....

My experience is mixed sometimes they send thungs fast but I have one Funko ordered mid july (marked as i Stock) and still has not shipped and another shipment of carded figures seems to have bene trown in there (one card was bended double by closing the box) othertimes it arrived well packed so a bit of a gamble when you order there when you get it and in what condition.
Ended up biting the bullet and ordered from Zavvi two days ago (the day before the article, the day before it sold out I guess.) I'm getting it more for the pieces, and also I just like the idea of a good recolor like this set, where you get a bunch of new pieces in a rare color even if the design hasn't changed.
Never order from Zavvi before (or, honestly, ever heard of them before) so this will be an interesting experience to see how they ship to the States. Hoping they didn't oversell their inventory because I am certainly closer to the tail end of their availability. But if it doesn't make it to me, easy come, easy go. (Assuming I get my money back, of course.)
I guess this isnt worth much now that they're sold out, but mine just shipped (I ordered on the 1st). Some peace of mind for those who bit the bullet not knowing whether to trust the site to ship any time soon, maybe.
Curious to know why yesterday on both Zavvi UK and US it popped up on screen saying “sorry this item is longer in stock” but today it has the option to preorder?!
So, is there any point in trying to order from them or not??
When items go out of stock on Zavvi they list them as pre-orders, it’s one of the reasons I stay clear of Zavvi. To me a pre-order means it hasn’t been released yet but to Zavvi it means they might get stock at some point, you can have an item on pre-order on Zavvi for years, it’s ridiculous.
I will seek clarification as to whether they are expecting more stock.

Mine initially said it would ship Sept 7th, but now it shows Nov 30th!! I ordered on Sept 1st, so I'm pretty sure I bought it before it sold out.

Ordered mine september 1st, scheduled for DPD delivery tomorrow (Monday 6th) in The Netherlands. Seems to come from the UK warehouse, so shipping time seems pretty good once it's dispatched!

I also bought on the 1st, almost immediately after the news broke. Got a ship notification today with an ETA of Sept 10 to Sept 17. I'm in Texas.

Gone on Zavvi now...
Just received mine, and started building. For some reason, in the building instructions at step 76 a 1x1 black round tile is omitted from the model, which was shown in the yellow version. Colour consistency appears to be better than with the yellow Fiat.
Edit: and the set came from Zavvi, well packed, in perfect condition.
Mine arrived today also in perfect condition
Just received mine from Zavvi and it came completely crushed and damaged. Packaging was poor and was put in a box almost the same size as the set, without any extra padding. Number was 030831. Very disappointed and would NOT recommend Zavvi.
Just received mine after ordering on the 1st. No damage at all. Shipped through Fedex to MA.
I commented a few days ago that I ordered mine on the fourth, but my card had been charged and said it would be dispatched on the 9th.
I actually received all 4 this afternoon, and all 4 were in perfect condition.
My son and I are super stoked.

No, it will remain a UK exclusive. Its a market test, like those "Forma" sets they did a while back, so its not getting a general release

I ordered it on the 1st and received it on the 9th in Denmark.
The box was dented.
