Hang on - 1 colour, and in 3 sets, but there's 10k of them in our collections? That seems... excessive. Even accounting for the 2 in the SW set and how many people have that Ninjago 'modular'.

Looks a bit awkward, but I like the connections it's got.

A part that has been resurrected. I remember them from the City Farm subtheme in what, 2010? Yes...part 92092. Glad to see it back!

I think it’s being combined with (either or both) similar parts: 44569 - 44 in 13 sets, and 92092 - 31 in 16 sets, thus making the 10,549 in inventories more believable.

Red version was in 7684 and was last used in 79108.

@maffyd:
1x 372 for 60281
1x 4230 for 71741
2x 2340 for 75311
adds up to 9282

All you need is another 1267 copies to be obtained through Bricklink, Bricks & Pieces, or get misidentified when they actually had the previous version.

Doesn't it account for people owning multiples of sets as well? In this case, it seems quite likely that some folks would have more than one 75311.

By in United States,

I have the slightly older version in red from some City sets. It, in that regard, is mostly used for truck beds.

I never realized the name of this piece was "Waggon Side." I think I have seen it on carts and wagons, but personally always associated it with sci-fi paneling. Just goes to show how versatile a specialized part can be in the right hands!

@Rob42:
I don’t have a deep understanding of the collection database system, since the only set I’ve actually marked as “owned” was the recent Imperial Shuttle polybag, and only because I was able to mark it as “owned” before anyone else. But I’d guess that if one person owned 2340 copies of 75311, it would look no different than if 2340 people owned one copy each. Duplicate copies should, therefore, be accounted for already, right?

Not as deadly as the Wagon Sides with Knives

Yes, I thought about it afterwards and realised it was loose parts making up the difference. That's still a lot though. The mis-identification is probably the most likely option. I wasn't aware of this part before today, let alone a previous version!

Edit: I even have a few of 44569 but completely forgot!

Multiple owned sets are accounted for. Older versions of parts and parts marked as being owned loose are not.

Would love another small City vehicle that has multiples of those.

City is due for another non-4+ (dump) truck.

Something like 60152 : Sweeper & Excavator or 60073 : Service Truck

I have three of the Imperial Troop Transport set, which isn't counted publicly on the Brickset website. It only says how many people have (at least one of) the set, and how many want it.

My first thought when I saw this was the older Slave Is, but turns out those are two different variations. I don't have any of these versions, but I do have some of the older ones.
