Shildon Brick Show, 27-28 November
Posted by Huw,Most of the large shows in the UK were cancelled this year but one that is taking place is the Shildon Brick Show at the Locomotion museum in the town on the weekend of 27-28th November.
The event is run by the local LUG, Brick Alley, and I will be there contributing to the GBC display. It's free to enter, but tickets should be booked in advance as it's likely to be very popular.
I hope to see you there!

I tried to join a LUG but they never responded to my emails.
@PixelTheDragon:
As LUGs age, they may shift online presence from one site to another, and the contact address you tried may no longer be monitored. Plus, the pandemic may have affected things (my LUG’s primary point of contact is a nurse who has been working crazy overtime for the last 1.5 years). Try again, and if you still have no luck, here are a few options you can try:
1. Namedrop then on an AFOL site. Maybe they’re defunct, maybe they abandoned the site/address you located and never shut it down, maybe something happened that they no longer have access to that address, or maybe your message got spam-filtered. Someone might be able to tell you if they’re still around, and/or help initiate contact.
2. Try searching for alternate means of contact. My LUG has a website that hasn’t been updated in at least a few years, but if you don’t mind wading into the sewer, we do have a Facebook page.
3. See if they’ve posted about any meetings or displays and try showing up in person. With a solid decade of averaging over 20 displays per year, I think the vast majority of prospective members we encounter are those who have seen our displays and chatted with one or more of the members in attendance.

Same
I live only 30 miles from Shildon, so I'm going to be attending. I'm not a member of that LUG, I think there may be a more northerly one that is closer to me.

I'm the Ambassador for Brick Alley RLUG, and it's our show.
The only other more northerly one than us in the UK is Tartan LUG in Scotland.
The majority of our membership, but certainly not all) live in the Darlington to Newcastle areas.
Haven't been to a Lego show in ages. Think I'll try and get up for this one.
I'll try and remember this is on. :)

I stand corrected :-) I had been thinking of LNUR but it seems they aren't a LUG.

No worries. You'll find there are many of our members who are also LNUR members too
