This would have been more fitting if this was the part of the day on Halloween

Mummy Coffin? She'd better stop sleeping in a dusty box then.

Nice! I have one of these in red from 5958. So it’s been around since at least ‘98 and in at least one different color. Those Adventurer sets should make a comeback some day. Maybe with the next Indiana Jones movie? But of course the sets would be licensed for Indiana Jones, but at least the theme is the same!

My mom never drinks coffee, so I don’t think she has a use for this lid.

It may be gold, but it's still plastic! This king was cheap to the very end.

This is the lid — to help stop the coffin!

This part was defunct for 4 years between uses and didn’t get a new part ID when later used in 1 set. That is rare I think. The mould must have been in storage. On a personal note, this is also the first random part for which I have all the listed sets. Neat.

By in Romania,

I've waited a long time for Pharaoh's Quest to finally show up on Random set of the day, I guess this is the closest we'll get for the time being.

Oh I have this part! I picked up a few random Adventurers sets in the early 2000s, and thought Johnny Thunder was such a cool concept.

I later made a point to collect as many of the Pharoah’s Quest sets as I could.

I have this piece as part of 853176. Most of the set including the sarcophagus is in my display collection.

Being an older collector, and loving any set that deals with history or monsters, I own this in gold, red, black, and blue. Would love to see the Adventurer line return in some format.

I love the Egypt Adventures and Pharaohs Quest sets! I have this part in three of the four colors it's been made in (missing black). When Pharaohs Quest was released I was pretty thrilled that it used some of the same models the old Adventures line used, and basically bought the whole line. I have since also acquired some of older sets to go with it.

Great part of the day!

@MeisterDad :
The irony being that they have this lid, and a vampire lid, but not a regular human or plain box lid. Only the undead die in LEGOLAND.

Oh, I love this piece :D I had a decorated version from 5919... though honestly, ALL the Egyptian pieces in that theme were the HEIGHT of coolness to me as a kid. Helped that the theme was still current when we were learning about Ancient Egypt in school, so it VERY much coincided with my childhood Egypt-is-cool phase.

True but one of the vampire versions has a printed edge and bat design on its lid. If you’re not averse to removing the bat print, the rest serves perfectly as a coffin for the dead-dead (as opposed to the un-dead).

Brickset readers own over 13K of this part??? Dang, that was a popular set, I guess!

It boggles the mind to imagine how many 1x2 bricks we own. Can we make it to the moon?

I might have messed up my math, but looks like we'd need 24 billion 1x2 bricks to reach the moon...

Distance to Moon (Average): 384472282 meters = 384472282000 mm
1x2 height = 9.6 mm
384472282000/9.6 = 40,049,196,040 (40 billion) 1x2 bricks stacked

Right, BrickLink claims a 1x2 brick is 1.6cm in height. But that's fine, we got the same result talking in orders of magnitude... :)

By in Germany,

While it's really cool to have it in gold, I definitely prefer the printed one from 1998, so iconic for the original Adventurers line! It was also interesting to get a glimpse of how Pharaoh Hotep looked like when he was still alive...

The audio drama from 5938 also mentioned the use of the 3.18 hole in the 'nemes' headdress as the resting place of the 'Red Ruby', Hotep's/Ramses IV's most prized possession, that was given to him by the god Horus himself.

Note that the hieroglyphs moulded in the lower section of the part spell out L-E-G-O, you would see the same hieroglyphs printed on other 1998 Adventurers parts and stickers.

I wish I also had the Vampire counterpart to this element from 2002's Studios Monster line :(
