Dang it! Wasn’t supposed to enter that
So, limited to black produced between 2002-2007, dark-body produced between 2005-2006, light-bley or yellow produced between 2005-2007, red from 2006-2007, or lime from 2007?
Huwbot is politely asking for help
Oh dear. I’m exited to see what the comments will be like!
IRN-BRU. Made in Scotland from......
Speaking of misentry, has anyone noticed that the RPotD article is slowly taking longer to appear every day?
Of the 9 million, I probably own a dozen or so, maybe two dozen. Got a bunch of them.
However, the most intriguing thing is the name. Something tells me we have a case of "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" going on here.
Why is it called misentry?
Henceforth all 11L Technic beams shall be referred to by their proper name of “Misentry”!
I once built a 4x4 off roader using a bunch of misentries in black and dark grey
So... Is there a Misterentry?
I propose all Technic beams be called "Misentry" that way we can have an 11L Misentry, a 9L Misentry, a 15L Misentry.... and so on. Not to mention all the different "Bent Misentrys" (Misentries Misentrees?) we could have
"Misentry"--internal code for "mistaken entry", aka "typo"? If so, why didn't LEGO clean it up; but instead made it this (very common) part's name.
Oh my, what a sentry.
I agree with @cody268 though, mis entry seems the most logical reason for this mis-entered part name.
Or someone was trying to misen.
I can't believe there is actually a Lego piece officially called Misentry. LOL. If Lego ever makes the Australian Parliament House then that set could be called Misentry too.
“Misen do, or misendo not; there is no misentry.” - Master Yoda.
There’s another part called misentry, 6595. not anything like 64290. SO confusing :-)

huwbot hasn't been the same since halloween.
You Have Died of Misentry.
@sjr60: real eggs?
Is it mizzentry or miss-entry?
This seems odd. I have a ton of these things. I don’t get why it’s not just a Technic beam.
Also I can’t believe I missed yesterday’s RPOTD! It’s one of my favorites! I practically built my MOC career with it.
And it’s not too small. If you want to know how to work it into a MOC, just check out my Flickr page. Just Google this user name. It’s the first link. It’s literally FILLED with MOCs using that canopy.
Misentry loves company.
Since we're doing puns that halfway work:
Spy sappin' misentry!
Incidentally, this part has also been used in the Slizers theme (under a different part ID) . Mind you it is called mizentry there...
Also, I believe this is in some way related to mispacman...
Sounds like a brand new plague. I wonder if calling this “mis-entry” is an error on just brickset’s part or if it comes from Lego
There is a second entry in the database for Technic 11M Beam ( https://brickset.com/parts/design-32525 ). Although todays part has a proper name added the similar part is not shown.
Out of couriosity I checked (one yellow, two black) beams from my parts box:
The yellow one has a '64290' on the face side with holes (near the end).
The two black have either '64290' respectively '32525' in the small recessess between the holes. These are better readable once you find them.
(Would I be eligible to exchange all my "Misentry" parts for the ones with proper name?)

Given that it's showing a proper name now, 'twould seem to the former.
All our parts data comes from LEGO and we do not change any of it. Doing so would make it less trustworthy.
However, that means that errors or misspellings in LEGO's data are replicated here. If LEGO calls this part misentry in some cases then so do we. However, I did edit this article because it made no sense otherwise!
Some of the elements of this design ID retain their 'incorrect' name, however: https://brickset.com/parts/design-64290
Up until Huw's edit the comments don't match the article (anymore). I was a bit confused...

That could resolve the "beam" vs. "liftarm" naming argument! Everybody just call them "misentry" from now on...

I queried for misentry and found another one

Oh come on @Huw, you have taken all the fun out of it now ;-)
