I've never seen this part before.

Not seen this part to my knowledge but is in two recent 3-in-1 creator sets on my wanted list.

It appears this first came in the Toy Story 3 set 7596 in 2010 as part of the claw crane. Pretty odd that a brand-new mold would be replaced six year later, right?

Is it just me or are the parts that Huwbot is picking are the most random parts out there?

Have you read the title of this series of articles?

This part really grabs me.

By in United States,

I’m familiar with this part, but it looks like the only sets I’ve purchased that include them are 2x Winnie the Pooh. They used them to mount the bees below the beehives.

@Murdoch17:
Ah, yes, I have that set, too. It has clips, which they’ve been standardizing to the C-clip design. I think there was a clip element released even more recently that got a similar update, but I can’t think of what it was offhand.

By in Malaysia,

This raises the question, can a hole really be considered a part?

By in United States,

I had one of these in some temp build or design. Earlier this year, I took it apart and two out of the four clips on this piece broke. It might've been my fault for being in a hurry, but I feel like with that many clips, a part like this is just begging to be broken at a moment's notice.

Totally gripping! But what would you use these parts *four* on the *hole*?

@Murdoch17:
Looking through the Bricklink list, it seems that besides Winnie the Pooh, I’ve got this from Mixels Berp (still sealed), Ewok Village (still sealed), Trash Compactor Escape (built), 2x Turtle Lair Attack (one sealed, one raided for parts and minifigs), and Winter Village Post Office (still sealed). I compared the version from 7596 with the version from 21326, and I did find one small change to the design. Both have C-clips, so it’s not because of that, but the C-clip is a tiny bit different. The original version has crisp concave corners where the fingers of the clip merge into the post extending out of the hub. On the newer version, these concave corners have a slight radius, which may have been done to eliminate stress points. One thing that didn’t cause the design change is being out of production long enough for the mold to be decommissioned. It hasn’t missed a year since being introduced in 2010, and since it has only been made in black until Winnie the Pooh, the original element ID number would still be in use under normal conditions.

Ask a donut.

@Lego_Lord_Mayorca:
The C-clip got near-universal praise when it was inteoduced. It had rounded tips that allowed even polyethylene parts to slide in smoothly instead of leaving grooves dug into the surface. It had a stronger grip, too. But I’ve had a few that ended up losing most of their grip when being stored with a bar clipped in place, and now I’m wondering if those sharp corners are to blame. Maybe they created enough of a stress point that the fingers were able to spread open just enough to affect their performance.

Useful for attaching tree foliage to a thin trunk or leaves to steams, but I am hoping for the horizontal 4 clip version to hold guns and light sabers in the next battle pack or advent calendar.

Been around for five years, used in 20 sets…and yet this is still the first time seeing this piece!

@Brickalili:
Including nearly-indiscernible variants, it’s actually 42 sets over 12 years.

That makes it even more remarkable I’ve never seen this piece before. Perhaps I’ll run into it for real in the future

By in Netherlands,

The use for the wind-measure on the roof in 31116 is just great part usage for this.

Remember when Darth Maul had a dual bladed lightsaber and everyone went nuts? And then every new saber after that tried topping it with more and more ridiculous blade numbers and gimics? This LEGO part is kind of like that
