Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 11
Posted by CapnRex101,76196 The Avengers Advent Calendar has been focused upon Spider-Man recently. Presumably another famous character will therefore appear shortly.
Let's open door number eleven and see...
Thanos certainly represents a change from Spider-Man and this minifigure looks brilliant. The character's angry expression captures his personality perfectly, although an alternative happier head might have been fun for an Advent Calendar. Nevertheless, I like this raging design, which is shared with two previous sets.
The torso also returns from those sets, featuring metallic gold armour. Unfortunately, the printed legs that appeared in 76141 Thanos Mech remain exclusive to that 2020 set, but I think Thanos looks good without them.
Naturally, the minifigure carries the Infinity Gauntlet alongside a sack which reveals his attitude towards Christmas. A black 1x1 round plate accompanies Thanos today, probably representing coal that Thanos is preparing to deliver!
Overall - 4.5 - While decorated legs would have been excellent, I am delighted with this Thanos minifigure and his accessories.

Thanos as the Grinch does seem rather thematically appropriate.
Minifigure with accessories - Lego Star Wars team, please take note!
Let's hope we get a Thanoscopter at some point. I can already envisage him using his infinity gauntlet to create gifts and basically troll people on christmas for no reason other than because he can. Classic Thanos!
Kinda wish we could have got an exclusive figure in the calender, perhaps Thanos in Ravager uniform form the What If series, although perhaps that aired too late to be included
Did Thanos have a big sack in the films?

Yes, according to Peter Quill, on his chin.
It's quite fun to think that Thanos uses his big sac to collect the infinity stones later in this calendar
I don't have Thanos so this one is most welcome. Love his sack of coal, bah humbug!
I don’t remember Grimace being so angry before Disney bought half the world...
Oh, he's delivering the coal? I thought he was getting coal, because trying to wipe out half the universe put him on the naughty list.
The gauntlet should be on his left hand.
The coal still reminds me of how, in DC, Santa makes his way through Apokolips' defenses every year to give Darkseid coal.
Love the irony of this ending a Spider-man streak. Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good...

"I do believe our Mad Titan here is not the deliverer of the coal, but rather the recipient, hence his angry expression. I guess that's what you get for halving the world population."
This was my take on the coal situation as well. I think Thanos deserves a lump of coal for being the biggest war criminal of all time. Bad Thanos. Bad!
I feel this inclusion was inevitable.......

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Nasty titan!

It’s based off of the comics where it’s on his right hand. Not the MCU where he uses the left.
Feels slightly weird that if they’re going to use the more lightly armoured version of him from Infinity War they give him such an angry expression, as that guy was almost disturbingly serene. Unless his usual helmet is going to pop up later to make him his usual warmongering self?
By the time I am finished, half of all presents under the tree will have been unwrapped.

(That’s a joke, BTW.)"
“And I’m pretty sure it’s efficient”
