December commences tomorrow, so our popular annual Advent Countdown is returning!

Five Advent Calendars have been released this year and our articles about their contents will be spread throughout the day:

  • 8:00am - Friends (MeganL)
  • 10:00am - City (MeganL)
  • 12:00pm - Marvel (CapnRex101)
  • 2:00pm - Harry Potter (CapnRex101)
  • 4:00pm - Star Wars (CapnRex101)

Times are GMT/UTC.

The articles will be spoiler-free as they appear on the homepage, so you can safely visit Brickset before opening your own calendars. Alternatively, you can change your news article preferences if you would rather not see the Advent Countdown at all.

December is particularly busy on Brickset, and we have plenty of interesting articles coming up within the next few weeks, including plenty of 2022 news and set reviews.

To make room on the home page for all of this we are going to cease publishing the Random Part of the Day articles. They might return next year if we are able to address their shortcomings.

By in United Kingdom,

Oh hey a new contender appears with the Marvel calendar. Have to see how it fares against the long-standing stalwarts

By in Netherlands,

I hope @MeganL likes micro builds, because there'll be a lot of those in the City advent calendar. ':-) I don't expect it to be as good as the 2019 City advent calendar. That one was pretty much perfect.

By in Ireland,

Too bad the Home Alone set with 24 bags has already been reviewed. That could have been a sixth advent calendar.

By in United States,

This year, since I purchased more than one calendar, I started opening one daily on November 7th, to be a sort of “countdown to the countdown”.

Aw. We have been having fun with random part of the day. MeisterDad especially has had some awesome comments.

By in Australia,

I announced on my FB page that I was looking forward to opening my Lego Avengers advent calendar tomorrow ...

... and one of my friends pointed out that because of Thanos, half the prizes will be empty.

Couldn't really go anywhere from there.

By in Ireland,

They should do a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings crossover Advent Calendar with Harry Hobbit and Frodo Potter etc.

By in United States,

I have been enjoying Random Part of The Day. Not aware of the shortcomings. Hope it returns! Thank you for all the great content!!

By in United States,

I just wanna say how much I enjoy the countdowns you do every year. We only got the Star Wars calendar this year so these posts are a great way to enjoy the various advents without actually buying all of them! Advance thank-yous to everyone preparing these posts and Happy Holidays!

But will missing half the boxes make it perfectly balanced, like all things should be?

that's a funny way of spelling Star Wars

By in United Kingdom,

I had to get the Marvel one, my first ever Lego Advent Calendar, however I always enjoy reading about them each day too during the countdown.

Many thanks to CapnRex and MeganL for doing these each year.

By in United Kingdom,

I still want a Ninjago calendar. At least the employee gift is Ninjago themed, and it looks amazing. One can dream. Can’t wait to see the advent calendars though!

By in United States,

Bummer about the Random Part. Was it really so bad to have the same conversation about part numbers/molds every single day when the year sounded wrong on a part? I enjoyed it.

By in United Kingdom,

I'll be joining in this year for the first time ever. I've never had a Lego advent calendar but I got my seven year old the Marvel one.

No wonder I am always a day behind. Good Dad, bad clock.

By in United States,

I'll be doing a photo series myself on Instagram with the Marvel calendar. Can't wait to see where it takes me.

By in Russian Federation,

I was waiting a whole year for this.

Can't be a whole year... at least 24 days less than a year, no? ;-)

No Random Part of the Day??? Bah humbug! If it’s really taking too much space, maybe set the filter to show only teeny tiny parts? Lol

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can't wait... Harry Potter for me again

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@huw Any chance we could get licensed minifig of the day next year???

By in United States,

I haven’t bought any of the Advent calendars the last few years, but I have the Avengers and City this year and I can’t wait! I have been impressed with the City one the last couple of years and really wanted to get that and I hope the first Avengers one is good because I also love Marvel (also hoping for a DC one at some point ;) ). Always love reading all the calendar reviews too. Some of my favorite content on Brickset each year.
Yay MeganL and CapnRex101!
