By in United States,

Before I moved across the state, the area where I lived got infested with a Japanese beetle, which was an invasive species with no natural predators in the area. My boss at the time complained about how they would eat his yellow roses right down to the stalk (apparently they’d leave the other colors alone, or at least delay consumption until the yellow ones were all gone). Some time later, I pulled into the parking lot and saw something swarming in the open field in the next lot over, and went to check it out. They were doing the same thing to purple loosestrife, _another_ invasive species that had been propagating in the area for a few years. There was a stand of it in that lot, and there wasn’t a single bud that didn’t have one or more of these beetles happily gnawing away at it. By the next day, they were all bare stalks.

I suppose in blue or purple (better yet, both) and under a dome, this would make a great Tesla coil part.

By in United States,

This is a very useful part to have in landscaping.

By in Estonia,

I wish LEGO introduced more new flowerheads (at least tulips, roses and calla lilies) and made them available also in sets themed other than just Friends.

By in United Kingdom,

I still prefer the original 1990's Lego City 3 shaft part 3741, as the top stud allowed you to stack them on top of each other to create multi-layered flower walls. Seems mad that after 251 sets this was discontinued in 2017, as one of the last appearances in lavender was as the strings to hold 3 party balloons in 41068.

@holdre007:
No Turkish dandelions! Those wretched things invented the stock market crash.

@ambr:
There’s a bouquet piece with three stems, a bar on the bottom, and a bar hole on top that lets you stack them. The old flower stem had no clutch, so they would constantly pop loose (flower suicide?), where the bouquet piece would hold firmly if you had a hollow stud you could plug it into.

By in United States,

And so, this is the end of Random Part of the Day...

Or at least it is from at least December 1st to December 24th...

Until it's not and is cancelled forever...

Kind of ironic / sad to give flowers to put on the grave of the recently deceased "Part of the Day" as it's last article.

Press "F" to pay your respects.

By in Netherlands,

I was looking forward to one day finding out how many 2L connector pins we collectively own. Fingers crossed that Random Part of the Day will return in 2022!

Goodbye, part of the day ... We barely knew ye...

Seriously though, with a bit of tweaking this could still be good. It's finding the right criteria for the algorithm.
