These are awesome!!!

By in Turks And Caicos Islands,

Looks great!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

They include bigger and better builds than I was expecting. Still, for the price of what Battle Packs used to be it is a downgrade as the builds are small and there's one figure less.

It is also too bad the rumored Phase I Rex and Cody are not included in the Clone pack. Here's to hoping that their Phase II variants will soon come in some sets.

While it is nice to see more Clone stuff, it is very tone deaf that they refuse to give us plain Phase II clones.

By in United States,

mandr can take down his rant video now! lol

Gravatar
By in France,

Are all the blasters in the Hoth one supposed to compensate years of stud shooters in battle pack ? :')

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm sure MandR productions will have something to say about this :)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

On the one hand, regular blasters instead of stud shooters, and plenty of them.

On the other hand, three minifigs for the price that used to get you four.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Three New phase ones for $14.99, Finally!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Honey, i shrunk the battlepacks.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

So... battlepacks but with less figs and more bricks? Although it works for the Rebel one since the builds are actually "legit" vs minituarized builds or gun racks.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So is this commander/doubles-as-a-pilot (/s) figure going to be identical to the one included with the UCS Gunship?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Well, that's underwhelming. I hoped for at least some unique characters in these so they could get back to making battle packs actual army builders. So, next year, are we getting €25 battle packs with 4 figs, €20 "accessory" packs with 3 figs and €15 polybags with 2 figs?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Woah, inflation really coming into effect now. $15 for something that looks to be worth half that? Almost seems absurd to see.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

My oh my, I love this change! Okay, three minifigs and less parts total is a bummer. However, these builds are so much more fitting than the ten millionth non-canon or ‘inspired by some unknown Legends thing’ speeder bike or walker. They’re adding useful terrain or accurate weapons now, so you won’t just buy these for the figures when army building! Pretty positive vibes from me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These look great. I'm glad we're getting normal blasters and builds that will work with displays. Cutting out a minifig hurts though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really hate this price creep that Lego is doing. I think all the larger sets they've been making has affected the value on the smaller sets. Here's to hoping for frequent sales on sets from retailers.

Who cares about him? We all know what he's going to say, no need to watch him. He's so predictable (and insufferable), it's sad.

I'm trying to guess, for the fun of it:
- He'll probably like the Hoth rebel one, because we need some good guys to fight against the trooper tjhat are coming in the battlepack.
-He'll despise the Clone one because there's no Rex or Cody P2 (which will be ironic because he always complains that battlepacks should not have named characters). Plus, he'll say LEGO missed another opportunity and/or that they don't listen to their customers (meaning him) and/or that they are ruining SW.

I stopped watching him a year ago and my life has been better without his constant whining and entitlement.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wishing for regular blasters instead of stud shooters only to lose a minifig in the process is some real monkey’s paw action.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Finally, some decent generic troopers in an army builder set! Hopefully people will whine enough about them that the price won’t be inflated to astronomical levels, or that annoying influencers won’t constantly brag about buying 300 of each and result in rampant unavailability.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

HOW MUCH? I expected these to be 12$ max

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

40557 is now on my want list. We'll need some goodies to fend off/be slaughtered by the old AT-AT and new AT-ST.

The gritted teeth face on the head with the darkest skin tone has bright white highlights over the eyeballs in the official image in the database. Does this seem like a design choice or a misaligned underprint? It really caught my attention but I couldn't understand what the highlight represents (bearing in mind I have zero artistic ability).

Gravatar
By in United States,

YES! These are both great!
Nice to have an easy way to get that Sargent! Not going to lie, I was worried the UCS Gunship was where it was going to stay. More generic clones is also always a plus!

Kinda relieved they didn’t include Rex and Cody like the rumor mill was saying. This pack would fly off the shelves otherwise.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Those Clone Troopers will sell like hotcakes.

Sorta disappointed there's no Cody or Rex but this set is more massable. I still don't get how Lego have not captailised on how popular the Clone Trooper minifigures are.

Rebels pack is great too. The guns being used as legs for the E-Web looks super funny to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was really hoping for phase 2 clones. But will still enjoy this set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Price of a battle pack for one less minifig and 40 less pieces. No thanks!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

To be honest had those Troopers been Phase II I would buy x2 of each set but thankfully I will only buy the Hoth Rebel Troopers set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Previously your kids could give these as presents at kids birthday parties as there was always a main vehicle build as in 75226 or 75133 , together with the 4 mini-figs resulted in around 110 pieces, but now with only 64 pieces, one figure missing in action and a small structure looks a little light-weight.

To be fair, afaik these sets are supposed to be like 40453 and 40454 , and those aren't exactly battle packs. Not to mention, 2 troopers + commander isn't a great army builder either. Putting in Cody instead of the commander wouldn't change much.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Im just happy we get a set from AOTC! It could be better, but it could be worse.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hard to believe it's been a little over 10 years since we got a Lego SW set with more than 2 Phase I clone troopers in it

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Are those printed slopes in the command station? Are they new?

Also like the curved mini-antenna there.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Even with 3 figures they still have to be weird and put a Commander into one set and have 3 generic troopers in the other.

And why replace one figure with an even tinier BP model? Basically no BP in years had a good ratio or selection at all to promote multiple purchases except for the 501st BP which then was too big and expensive and changed the print style yet again. There is no point in buying sets anymore, they are only a way to supply Bricklink sellers with single figures that I might purchase if the prices aren't too stupid like 4-7€ for the Hoth Rebels with dark tan legs in previous years.

It looks like the same figure as in the UCS Gunship.
That would be great because I want this figure but prices are very high at the moment for this figure.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Even with only 3 minifigs I like the rebel pack, finally a cheaper way to army-build those.
As for the clone troopers, I'm still disappointed they chose to carry on with the animated looks. The previous torsos were perfect, these ones clearly are inferior.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the Hoth one because it reminds me of my first Star Wars set ever, 4500.

This was after I wrote a letter to the Lego company and asked for a Star Wars theme. They had no outside IP at the time (to my knowledge). They wrote back and basically said “We can’t take outside ideas, however we are going to make Star Wars sets”.

Coincidence? I think yes. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love these and will definitely pick them up!

I also (personally speaking) don’t mind the prices for these or the new battlepacks. CMFs are now $5 each (which I see as “deluxe” figures), while 3-packs from Build-a-minifig bins in-store are $10 (so $3.33 each) for sometimes-nice, but overall common, figures. Add the cost of licensing, and I personally see these packs as a fair deal that is consistent with pricing across the board.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hehe the clone set has 66 pieces, coincidence? I think NOT!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the Defense of Hoth set is the first LEGO set ever where each human minifig has a different skin tone. I also like the 1X2 printed tile in that set. It looks like a more modern version of the Rock Raiders tile.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

awesome!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it a January 1st release for these? I will have to try and get one of each for my seven-year-old.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They're not cheap, but they are exactly what I want out of a battle pack.

There have been others. Many with Nick Fury in 30535, 76127, 76130 or go for Finn and Rey or Rose such as 75176."

I stand corrected. Maybe it's the first set with *3* human minifigs that each have different skin tones? Either way, I miss yellow skinned Star Wars figs. ;)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Nice to see some "good guys" to balance all the Imperials we are getting on Hoth. Always nice the see Phase 1 troopers.
But thrown off by the numbering as they were in the 75XXX, most recent being the rumoured 75341, since 2013. So going down to 405XX...ahhh...like those blister packs only at the LEGO stores or online. Have never seen these in Walmart or TRU...

Gravatar
By in United States,

In sets with hats and helmets, they should start making the heads have two faces. (Male on one side, female on other) …Would help with adding variety, if you need / want it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm a big fan of these, although the price is obviously problematic. I think raising the battle pack price was inevitable, so dropping a minifigure makes some sense. I do really love the builds, they're both more detailed and more accurate than the random walkers and turrets battle packs usually come with, despite the smaller size. I appreciate that they are not only useful builds, but massable. Having several of each of these along with the minifigures will look perfectly good!

I wish the commander hadn't been included, just to avoid having so many relative to the shinies. Still it will be nice not having to buy the gunship to get him, and I'm personally a fan of the new print design, so I'm very pleased with this.

The Hoth pack is wonderfully diverse, and the variety of prints is good. I'm not sold on the new legs though, the tan stripe looks really strange though, I much prefer the older light grey style.

What other packs would y'all like to see in this style? Stormtroopers? Rebel Fleet troopers? Different clone legions?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I look forward to the clones being out of stock ten seconds after they go live.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Decrease the minifig count from 4 to 3 AND increase the price?

Rebel Endor commandos, possibly imperial sandtroopers. Fleet troopers would be nice but would have to include one rebel honor guard. Now I also wish there was a cheap way to get more basic imperial officers (like lieutenants or captains) as those are only available in huge sets at the moment.
As for the Clone Wars era, I'd love some galactic marines, ARC troopers and Mandalorians.

Edit: Oh and clone commandos, how could I forget them?

shore troopers, more death troopers and other random imperial/rebel/mando/etc troops from various places.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm so glad they're including real blasters instead of stupid stud shooters! +100!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really like the Hoth set! My Snow Trooper to Rebel Trooper ratio has been pretty poor. This will help!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

They’re both really good! However, as these are usually just LEGO exclusives, I imagine they’ll be hard to get for those who don’t have easy access to one.

I mean, Battle Packs were going so well, if you take off the price increase.

Love the command centre as well.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Defense of Hoth looks great!
CANNONS and BLASTERS and RIFLES - OH MY! Lotta heat in that pack. Price seems reasonable, too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I immediately loved the clones, cause, you know, clones and then I saw the rebels...

Oh ho ho! So cool!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gonna swap out six stud shooters in previous BPs for the medium blasters used as support legs in 40557 so I can make better use of the blasters in display as hand-held weapons. Then with studs loaded, maybe firing them off against the ground will make the big gun jump and simulate it getting hit and exploding.

Finally, relief from stud shooters

Gravatar
By in Austria,

for 10€, I'd take them. As is, hell no. The worst thing is not even the price hike and minifig dropping, but making them blister packs - am I correct that this means they'll only be sold in Lego Brand Stores, and consequently never get a discount?

"Boo hoo we're a billion dollar company, we can't aFfOrD to continue selling battlepacks with 4 minifigs for 15€"

Yeah sorry these are already sold out in Australia and we won't be getting more because of poor sales.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really miss the black hips on the clones, they look so naked with the blank white space... otherwise happy with both of these.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Phew! No Osprey, so everything is ok.

Gravatar

I would like to see an Ewok pack, or maybe an astromech droid pack.

These aren’t normal sets, they’re blister packs, they vary from 3-4 figs normally. Also it’s only exclusive to lego themselves (can only get it at shop @home or at a lego store).

Gravatar

@1265 said:

Not happening. Blister packs are LEGO store exclusive. There will never be a 20% discount on them either.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No stud shooters and genuine army builders. But that's burying the lede, of course.

That is a lot of money for one less figure. I didn't even like buying battle packs with four figures for $15. What are they doing?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great sets all around, but the $5 price hike along with one less minifigure is pathetic.
I’m also disappointed by the clone troopers: their helmets (AOTC) and bodies (TCW) don’t match up, just like in the UCS Gunship...
