Buy a piece of mosaic and help kids in flooded Germany

Posted by ,

Earlier in the year German retailer JB Spielwaren held a LEGO Star Wars event at which a large mosaic of the Bad Batch was constructed by attendees.

It's now being sold, with all proceeds going to provide toys and equipment to kindergartens and schools in the area of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany that recently suffered devastating flooding.

It's being sold in individual 16x16 stud sections, framed and ready to hang on the wall, for €35, although you can donate more if you wish.

It's a great cause and a wonderful gesture, and I encourage you to support it.

Visit JB Spielwaren to find out more and to purchase.

Each purchase includes:

  • a randomly selected piece of the mosaic (16x16 plate with 256 1x1 round plates)
  • a matching wooden frame 25x25cm
  • a picture of where exactly the piece was placed in the large mosaic

The price per mosaic piece is 35,00 EUR. However, it is also possible to pay more, and there's an option to do so before you check out.

By in Germany,

Hey Huw,

thank you so much for promoting this charity offer for kids in Germany here.
We are happy to finally start this campaign and hopefully we will get a full load of money to get some helpful toys for the children.

Thanks to all the people who are supporting this.

Greetings Hendrik (JB Toys)

Supported! Great idea

Ironically I work in Reinsurance and have lost a lot of money on these floods! Horrendous out there…

The mosaic will go in our office as a reminder how bad things can get

Good luck

Must buy! I grabbed 3, as US shipping was high, but didn't change with additional quantities.

What a great cause!

I had a good laugh at the English translation on the page: “The Bathroom Batch”

EDIT: The checkout process doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’m kicked back to my shopping cart each time I attempt payment…

I paid via PayPal, and it worked flawlessly. I don't know of that helps you out or not. :-/

By in Germany,

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I live in North Rhine-Westphalia myself and now a lot of people who were affected by the flooding and even two people I knew got killed by it.
I donated on several occasions already and I had to support this nice charity, too.

Very cool to see this! Goes double with it being Star Wars related media, so that was even more of a must-donate for me!

No option for a Canadian to purchase? Or is it not allowed as a guest?

This should have more comments. The good articles are small hits. The controversial ones are mega hits. Shouldn't be that way.

These articles have many share options, perhaps they contain some options for you? Every little bit helps of course!

Does anyone have a better photo of the actual mosaic? I can't find one anywhere, and I'd like to print it out to display next to this.
