No, Huw said in the followup article (the 2nd on the list) that it was the most read article ever.
The figure is correct, the article took on a life of its own...
520k views please all the other views in that week, gives a total more that 616k.

616,721 is the number of views of all articles, but only for this week
520,636 is the number of views of the article total, so not just for this week
