Merry Christmas from all of us here at Brickset. We hope you all have a great day today and that some of your presents rattle when shaken!

Don't forget to add your new acquisitions to your collection here: we collectively own 31,777,259 sets at the moment so let's see if we can get it to 32 million by the end of the year.

We'll be taking it easy today, but we'll be back tomorrow with a review of one of the Chinese Traditional Festival sets, so be sure to look out for that.

Huw, Chris, Megan and Alice -- the Brickset team.

Merry Christmas and thanks for a great year.

Hoping that the Chinese New Year sets are available from 00:00 on the 26th. A couple of sets worth getting ASAP, as they're likely to sell out very quickly and, more to the point, take ages to get back in stock!

Merry Xmas folks! Among some other sets I got the 606 and 608 in 100% mint condition with boxes and instructions. They’re 49 and 50 years old!! I’m over the top of excitement!

At the risk of dampening your enthusiasm, the 606 is from ‘78 and is only 43. Great score though with mint condition everything!

By in United Kingdom,

Relish a day of hopefully enjoying time with family, having fun, and building Lego of course if you can fit it in (when can’t you anyway!)

Togetherness is a big theme this Christmas with our family and friends as many of us have encountered horrible experiences throughout the last year, or two. I’m glad that Lego as a universal force has joined us all together, and despite all TLG’s marketing guff, it can really be a mindful experience to take us away from everything else when we need it to, and just focus on connecting a few pieces together.

I’d also like to suggest to the commenters out there who feel that a set released by Lego isn’t exactly the design you wanted, or that there is too much of a social statement being made - see if your New Year’s Resolution can look towards being constructive in your feedback and open to a wider variety of people and opinions. It’s far easier than starting a gym membership and persisting throughout the year!

By in New Zealand,

Merry Christmas Huw (and Chris, Megan and Alice) from a minifigure collector in God's Zone/Middle Earth/New Zealand. I think now would be a good time to start building my 10258 London Bus to remind me of the years I spent living in London. Keep up your excellent work of inspiring us in our LEGO fixations.

Probably the earlier 606-2 which was a 1972 Tipper truck.

Great sets. 608 was one of the last sets I bought before my dark age, for the princely sum of 6 shillings and sixpence!

By in United States,

I missed out on this Santa GWP, and I didn’t even care. Still want the cancelled living room, though.

@Minifig290:
If you bought it back in November, you could have built it as an Advent Calendar. I might have considered doing so, but I planned to display it at Detroit Symphony Orchestra in mid-December, because they do a Home Alone concert. Got it built in one day, and found out the next day that the DSO is holding off another year before inviting us back, so I could have done the Advent thing after all.

Merry Christmas! Thanks B-Set team for all the cool you do.

Santa was very nice to me (I don't know why, haven't been an especially good AFOL). He brought me a big new doggie 75313 that I've affectionately named Ein (from Cowboy Beebop fame).

By in United Kingdom,

Merry Christmas Huw, your team and families. Thanks for all you do - and to the wider community which continues to make this a daily Lego “go to” site. I was lucky to find 10283 Discovery under the tree complete with Hubble telescope. And today, NASA have launched its successor the James Webb Space Telescope on ariane5 - look forward to seeing it in a future Lego set.

Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and wonderful 2022, filled with joy, peace and plastic bricks.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@illennium:
Christmas has become so secularized that people from many religions (including atheism) celebrate parts of it. You aren’t likely to see most of them at a Christmas Eve service, but the decorations, gift-giving, and Christmas songs cross religious divides the world over.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank you, Huw, to you and the whole team for all that you do. I love appending time on Brickset, most especially reading the reviews and articles. Here’s wishing you all much joy from the positive comments you receive here—in return for all the LEGO joy you bring us!

By in United States,

Happy holidays! I mean… there’s not exactly that many holidays around now aside from Hanukkah and Kwanza*, so uh… Happy Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanza! And New Years, if you don’t celebrate any of those. Unfortunately we aren’t gonna have family over until January of next year because of traffic and other reasons but if y’all can be with yours than have a great time with them and stay safe!
On the topic of gifts, I don’t really do those but my brother got some LEGO sets and since we live in the same household they’re now *our* sets… communism moment. I also got Uncharted 4 but until I get a PS4 that’s not gonna be something I’ll be able to play. With the rumors of a Horizon Zero Dawn set, I’d be thrilled by an Uncharted one but the gun focus would get in the way. I’m getting sidetracked here, Merry Christmas and other holidays even if they don’t land on today!
* Is Eid-Al Fitr also around now or not?

I'm sceptical about reaching 32 million owned sets by the end of the year, but the brickset community's owned sets' worth broke 1 billion US$ today!

I would love to get some more but don't have any more room in my house. I have no kitchen, living room or dining room as they are all full of Legos.

The vast majority of people who say Merry Christmas aren't at all religious. It's a social holiday now, not a religious one. If it ever really was to begin as Jesus was probably born in spring.

And Trigger_, Hanukkah was over three weeks ago. Started early this year."

I was sort of goofing around, I know that Hanukkah doesn’t usually overlap with Christmas. Over three weeks ago isn’t what I expected, though.
